I feel like the Michigan media and coaches have known this is the case for a few days, but have just been playing dumb in order to get a competitive advantage. Regardless, this is a huge development and we'll need him to stop Bowers

Harbaugh: "Dax is working through some things."

Media: "Can you be more specific?"

Harbaugh: "OK, if you insist. The Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 entered Dax's nasal passage airway at a substantial but unknown load, bound to the putative ACE-2 receptor on a nasal epithelial cell thus inducing a conformational change in the inactive viral spike glycoprotein resulting in the furin cleavage site mediating binding to the cell membrane and viral cell entry.

Though the infected cells are replicating the viral genome at a rapid rate, Dax has a substantial number of pre-existing SARS-CoV-2 spike protein-specific long-term memory B and T cells thanks to being vaccinated and further has a high number of circulating effector cells, including plasma B-cells secreting potent neutralizing antibodies, thanks to recently being boosted.

Those antibodies are binding free viral particles and preventing spread from cell to cell while antigen presenting cells in the mucosa are presenting vaccine-derived helper T-cells with small 13-18 amino acid peptides of viral proteins presented in the context of MHC Class II molecules to trigger activation of further T-cell dependent B-cell activation and Cytotoxic T-cell recruitment and activation, which recognize and lyse infected cells after recognition of 8-10 viral amino acid peptide sequences in the context of MHC Class I molecules on the infected cell surface.

The combination of neutralizing antibody activity limiting cell-to-cell spread and cytotoxic T-cell effector response resulting in the targeting killing of infected cells is expected to prevent the progression of the infection to a clinically symptomatic state."

Media: "Guh?"

Harbaugh: "He's working through some things."

Driving home ESPNU radio said he had covid and would not play and was separated from the team. They were speculating Michigan may have a bigger COVID problem. They did not talk about the known UGA on going COVID problem. I'm glad Dax will be playing an the team is healthy.

More good news, MSU can't get out of its own way. 21-10 Pitt early in the 3rd.

I'm also incredibly thankful this broadcast crew is NOT on our game tomorrow. They talk like they're Homer Simpson who thinks he's William Shakespeare.
