Alabama football redshirt freshman Elijah Pritchett was arrested by Tuscaloosa Police Wednesday night.

Pritchett was charged with knowingly passing on a sexually transmitted disease according to a report by the Tuscaloosa Thread. He was later released on a $500 bond.

The offensive lineman has appeared in all 13 games this season for the Crimson Tide, but mainly in a reserve or special teams role. Early in the season, Pritchett was fighting for the left tackle starting job with Kadyn Proctor.

I'm not sure about this.  There's a rumor going on that - during our tailgates - we've offered refreshments and "bites to eat" - to both former players and families of both current and former players.

If this caused additional anxiety because of unwritten NCAA guidelines and By-Laws, my sincere apologies.

So, the scandal associated with our tailgate - may, in fact - be right behind cheeseburgers.

As a point of reference, we also serve cheeseburgers regularly at our tailgates.  My sincere apologies of the Michigan faithful.

Whether he is suspended for the game or fully available, it won't make one bit of difference. He played something like 85 offensive snaps total this season.

He played 25 snaps against Arkansas and gave up 2 sacks. Against UGA, Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee, he played 0 offensive snaps and only saw time on special teams.

At most, he'll be on ST against Michigan.

Football aside, this is insanely messed up. I’m not typically one for harsh prosecution, but this is next level horrific and warrants an equally harsh punishment if true.

The charge itself. Intentionally transmitting an std regardless of whether or not it’s aids to some easily curable one is deplorable. I’m not trying to virtue signal at all. I’m glad that he got arrested for it if it’s true. I know two people that this happened to and it’s had a significant impact on their lives both with respect to their mental and physical health along with the relationships they’ve had.

It’s not something that we hear about on the news often, but it’s a horrible crime nonetheless

I can relate.  My (now ex-) had an affair, caught an STD from the guy, and passed it to me.  I can tell you first-hand, it's life-altering.  The mental aspect is also a challenge to deal with, because it's a reminder of her betrayal.

He deserves due process, but if this is proven, I hope the punishment is severe.
