Realistic Bowl Game projections/Desired opponent

Submitted by TheTeamTheTeam… on
So now that the regular season is over, and here we sit at 8-4, who realistically do you want to play? My vote is Washington State, 9-3 team after the loss to Washington, PAC 12 team, we have some history with them. Plus I’d really like to see if Leach would want Falk to drop back 40 times vs our Defense. If not Wazzu I’d probably want Virginia Tech or South Carolina.

Holiday bowl vs Arizona if that's possible. Coach Harbaugh would eat Richrods lunch. I'm sure Coach was sickened to watch his alma mater get torn apart for 3 years while richrod was here.

This would require the Holiday Bowl, a game played on a weeknight between Christmas and NY late at night with only a small amount of prestige (based entirely on being one of the older bowls), to make an irrational choice and pick Northwestern over Michigan. We will bring the viewership and the gate, especially 4 years after we last played out west (and a decade on from last playing in California).

I am much more concerned with how Kinnel and Metellus match up with Washington State's passing attack than Michigan's front 7 against Bryce Love.

Right now most signs point to the Holiday Bowl against a PAC-12 opponent.  Alamo Bowl gets first pick of non NY6, then Holiday bowl gets second.   If USC beats Stanford then it will likely  be against Stanford.   If Stanford beats USC, Washington will most likely be the PAC-12  Holiday Bowl Rep.  Holiday Bowl is also down to Michigan / Northwestern as their likely choices.

All that said, my choice would be Stanford.

I think it'd be fun to play west Virginia, ok state, Stanford, Florida state (again), Mississippi State, lsu
