Definitely Purdue is one of the more likeably big ten teams. I can't stand Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, and I'd rather see Purdue over Indiana as well.

Painter is of my vintage and as a hoosier by birth (him and me) he’s always had a rep as a good dude. I’m good if he wins one (Purdue has none in the NCAA era).
As IU showed today, they can play with anyone. If M can’t get there it’d be pretty amazing seeing these two deep in the tournament.

If there is one team other than Michigan from the B1G I’d want to win a national championship it would be Purdue. I guess Rutgers would be kinda funny but also depressing at the same time.

I was fully on board with a Purdue natty until I was forced to sit in front of the 4 Purdue fans behind us at the game last week. Single worst collection of fans I've ever been by in person, legitimately bad enough for me to want them to exit early again solely for their suffering. I am aware of how petty this is.

Yeah, you could go to any message board in the country and flip the story and someone would say I really want to like Michigan but their fanbase sucks.
I mean it's not like Michigan doesn't have someone like a WD that is a loudmouth, tweets at other players and students from other schools, and lets their fandom get in the way of being a decent human being.

We have lots of annoying fans, yes, like any fanbase. I would like to think we have a lower proportion of annoying fans than most of the rest of the big ten. From my experience, Purdue also has a low proportion of annoying fans.

dude's stat line was crazy. He ripped down 10 offensive boards alone. It's amazing that kind of second chance effort still resulted in a loss. I'm still shocked how well he moves for his size when watching him play.

Edey is a kid that only started playing after he got too big for baseball...around the middle of grade 10...so really a newcomer to the game. He's not a rail, though he's still a bit stiff, so he's a really imposing figure.
Really impressed to see him stand up for a team mate though...I've never minded Painter, and I've always rooted for the kid, so I am hoping they do well in the tournament

Goes to show you what stuff the Purdue program is made of. Very impressive, obviously Edey sticking up for the unheralded freshman PG. But doubly impressive that Jaden Smith & Fletcher Loyer are playing at such a high level as freshman on the #1 team. Carsen Edwards & Robbie Hummel were also class acts as the star players. I'm always rooting for Purdue when they aren't playing Michigan.

Don't forget Trayveon Williams. He gave my mom a hug while visiting in Michigan. When asked (by an aide) why he was playing for Purdue and not a Michigan school he just smiled and said recruiting goes both ways (he wasn't offered a scholarship as it wasn't a position of need at the time.)

Pure class - Edey threw himself under the bus to protect his teammate. No pointing fingers. No whining at refs. I'm sure this comes from the top and there is more about Edey to be proud of than his improvement in the post.

It would've been funniest of all if he'd grabbed the mic and did like a 20-minute stand-up comedy routine. "What's the deal with airline food? Tiny bags of chips made from fifteen kinds of potato. And I'm up in there saying, 'A little-ass bag of chips? I'm seven and a half feet tall, lady! I'M STARVING OVER HERE!'"
