I really don't understand…

I really don't understand why everyone keeps writing Wolf off as anything but a 5.  He played a Larry Bird like role on the Israeli national team against world class competition and given his vision and passing skills I could see him used as a 4 against some teams (notably Purdue and next year's Indiana lineup).

Where are you getting sub-50…

Where are you getting sub-50% completion percentage for Milroe in high school?  The Texas commentor on here wrote he was a 65% passer at Katy playing a dozen D1 defensive back recruits while Orji was the one at 50%?   Don't think ON3 has ever had a 5 star high school QB that threw less than 50%.

Just curious what is your…

Just curious what is your basis for arguing "Orji has more talent than Milton"?
Milton demonstrated some pretty good talent at throwing the deep ball and running a winning team in the SEC....what exactly do you believe Orji has demonstrated in regard to talent....and your not allowed to answer that the entire SEC coaching fraternity believing he had the talent to be an NFL linebacker.

People sure drinking the…

"I liked it to Lamar Jackson, and if he were in the spring game they'd play him in an offense not suited to his real strengths, and he'd look bad."

Well let's see.... Lamar in two spring games at Louisville barely ran and threw for 3 touchdowns in each game and over 350 yards in each game.  He actually threw 55 passes and only 9 were incomplete over the two games.  If your thinking Orji becomes Lamar Jackson once you can tackle the QB in a game....ignoring the question of whether he can run a passing game.

Only comparison between Cade…

Only comparison between Cade and Warren based on playing multiple drives in similar (Spring games) is that Warren has had 2 multiple touchdown pass games while Cade had 0.  I for one hope Warren offers a consistent deep game to go with the much vaunted Cade "game management."

Not sure I agree that…

Not sure I agree that because offense is built around run game that this favors having a quarterback that is a runner....would  make life simpler for the defense.

Duke graduate Jeremy Roach…

Duke graduate Jeremy Roach just entered portal (43% shooter behind arc)...but imagine he will get a lot NIL offers.

I see some calling Olivia a…

I see some calling Olivia a 2-3 by position, but I agree with HUDL that she is a point guard.

A 6'1" point is ideal for today's women's game and she is a gifted passer (this highlight real has an even more impressive no-look pass). Yes, she can shoot it, but you can tell she gets a lot of joy from setting up teammates.

I just figured with Clark's games leading NCAA in viewers, I should just put MBB in front of mens team posts to avoid confusion.

Agreed, we live in the era…

Agreed, we live in the era of the spin move in the paint (so you could see all the defenders freeze and focus on Olson) and to no-look to the trailer at that point was a thing of beauty.

Some may not get access if…

Some may not get access if recently read a Post article so here is key paragraph:

As such, the Alabama graduate assistants, forced into the overflow section, enjoyed an unobstructed view of North Carolina’s bench from across the court. Once Tar Heels Coach Hubert Davis signaled to his team, the Crimson Tide’s graduate assistants set about deciphering the call. When that was complete, often within a second or two, they loudly shouted out the play in unison — “Floppy,” “Rebel,” or “Double” — to notify Alabama’s defense.

A good bit of background on Scruggs (his brief time as a player under Moore) and his bringing in two 4-start linemen last year.

This is too typical of the posts on here.  Where is there even one shred of evidence Gatlin has NIL as a major factor in his decision on arriving on campus in 2026 after living two years on oatmeal, beans, and no television on his mission?

I wouldn't discount Denegal…

I wouldn't discount Denegal's chances.  He has been the most relaxed among QBs when his name is called and very impressive in the time he has been in (only UM QB with yards per pass avg in double figures).....plus, he seemed to be getting the  #2 spot coming in the game over the course of the season.

Should reduce Poole’s…

Should reduce Poole’s continued PTSD over getting sucker punched in practice

Would like to see Orji and…

Would like to see Orji and his 10 yards per carry get a repeat in the 2nd half

Fargas was the #1 running…

Fargas was the #1 running back and I will always remember as the first "live" announcement of his commitment which was carried live on internet (in that it was on a radio station that had a open broadcast over the internet).  His choosing Michigan remains the most memorable recruiting shock I recall as we were not favored compared to his hometown (and Hollywood actor dad) fave of USC.

If I remember in 1998, Drew…

If I remember in 1998, Drew Henson was made All-American as the punter (something he did for his team) to get him on the 1st team.

I think the biggest…

I think the biggest difference between today's recruiting era and the 80s and 90s is that today rankings are constantly revised and reconsidered as a player develops over high school and those all important summer camps.

A great example is Kareem Walker in Jim's 2018 strong recruiting class, as a junior he was #1 running back in country but as he was further and further evaluated, he dropped to edges of top 100.  That didn't happen in the 80s and 90s, if a Tom Lemming drove to your rural high school for an appointment to "check out" your workout and made you #1 as a junior...you pretty much were set with that ranking till college.

The key will be learning…

To win in Houston, we need to figure out how Penix sliced up our defense in Indiana's win over Michigan in 2020.  We have the book on Penix.

With his former Associate Head Coach Mike Hart and two Indiana passing game transfers, I hope we have plenty of insights on stopping Penix.

.....and with an opposing…

.....and with an opposing defense that has worst defending the run stats than half the MAC.  We are built to beat a Stroud-led OSU and this will be one with a glaring weakness on defense.  Huskies coach has been offensive genius everywhere he has coached but has always overlooked defense.

Penix is the type of QB that…

Penix is the type of QB that can single-handedly lead his team to a national championship, I know everyone is afraid of Texas having more fans in Houston, but not sure they are not safer choice (even with two best run-stopping DTs in college).

This is the second of two…

This is the second of two threads opened on Sugar Bowl (but no admin is pasting it to top so people stop here as they go down board)

With Huskies, you face the…

With Huskies, you face the best passing QB in the country but a rush defense that is actually ranked behind half the MAC.

Do NCAA rules allow you to…

Do NCAA rules allow you to force your returners to perfectly catch 500 punts in a row or start over each day of practice?

Just watched the muffed catch by Washington to totally change mo in that game.

Do NCAA rules allow you to…

Liked your more open title format though

I have not been able to…

I have not been able to watch too many games this year but basically the starting five averaged around 36 - 37 minutes and really the only meaningful sub was Williams.

Is this something unique to OSU game (and breaking press you mentioned) or are we seeing this as season progresses?

BS, if UM lost JJ and 5 best…

BS, if UM lost JJ and 5 best players on defense plus starter or backup at nearly every position in depth chart. (including 2 more QBs)..you think Georgia wouldn't have kicked our butt (again)

Georgia still has their…

Georgia still has their starters in up 63 to 3 at start of 4th quarter?  FSU will never forget

Phelia finally starting to…

Phelia finally starting to overcome her trepidations as being the #1 on offense.  Played with confidence.

Always take a team captain…

Always take a team captain with 80% PFF ratings in four B1G games.  His being from Niles probably helped.  That said, we are hopefully still searching for at least one stud tackle on portal.

I watch both teams quite a…

I watch both teams quite a bit and disagree on this take that Banchero is superior to playoff team than Cunningham.  I think both could be key pieces on a champion team.

The key difference between the teams to me is that Cunningham has nobody to hit the 3 and clear space for him (as demonstrated by how much better he does when Bogdanovic is in the lineup...like his career game yesterday).

I also see a lot of similarities between Ausur Thompson and Magic's Jalen Suggs.....it took 2 years for Suggs to really turn all that defensive promise and athletic ability into a key part of a winning team and could easily see Ausur do the same with time and other players developing around him.

I sure wish Michigan…

I sure wish Michigan considered using Semaj Morgan in the same manner Bama uses Law. With a tailback and JJ back there as well, the defense will constantly worry which way play is headed and we have 3 guys that can make you miss in space.

Houston is horrible?…

Houston is horrible?....check out his highlights today, and he is only getting playing time on the NBA's #4 defensive team by playing good defense as well:

First, it was 3:45 AM and the shooter clearly locked on to the young lady and Fears....I am guessing they know who was the angry shooter....that said, snitches get ditches so nobody is talking and the cycle of violence will continue.

Bigger long-term impact will…

Bigger long-term impact will be the further collapse of college football into power 4 and BCS playoff while the rest of college sports teams wither on the vine.

He was a Big Ten offensive…

He was a Big Ten offensive player of the week in November:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5acX-NWzJ4

Give him a chance to prove he can block because he has a lot of raw talent as a receiving tight end.

Yet to see an actual…

Yet to see an actual proposal that would work for even the wealthiest power 5 school.

The football team is a small share of scholar-athletes on campus and even paying minimum wage plus typical student costs per student with administrative oversight would run more $100 million dollars for the 1,000 student athletes at a typical power 5 school.

But how happy would a 5-star football recruit be with getting the same $15 and hour job as the field hockey walk-on?

You can't keep opening new Pandora's boxes and expect its a solution.

My question is how anyone…

My question is how anyone thinks a committee chaired by the Athletic Director of NC State is going to deny the undefeated ACC champion?

See this morning that even…

See this morning that even SEC-loving ESPN is sobering up this morning.  Only Dan Gilbert of the 4 BCS pre-show analysts have Bama in BCS.  Gilbert did concede that in a close call, he was putting Texas in his final 4 instead of adding Georgia.

Edit: Course they then had Paul Finebaum call in to make the SEC case.

...unless Alabama is #4 and…

...unless Alabama is #4 and then Washington deserves the #1 slot for their impressive victories over OSU and Oregon.

Never wise to make a bet on…

Never wise to make a bet on the decision of a few old men in a backroom when nobody in Vegas or the press really have any good intel on their thoughts.

Personally, I believe any…

Personally, I believe any team that literally schedules a rivalry game with an SEC power (Florida), hosts another SEC power LSU on a neutral field, than wins out its conference....should go to BCS.  Their 2nd string quarterback looks pretty good and will be back.  Don't consider it a certain victory. They will be much harder than Iowa to defeat.

Not true, for example:

Obviously less than objective, but ACC journalist makes a good point here:

Without Semaj's return, we…

Without Semaj's return, we would literally be performing exactly the same as FSU with a 3 to 0 lead

The plan was to average 1.1…

The plan was to average 1.1 yards per carry in the first half, that is how you set up the passing game.  Obviously you haven't read Hayden Fry's biography.

So far the Michigan versus…

So far the Michigan versus Iowa game is beating the FSU-Louisville game in terms of total yards of offense: 160 to 150 (excluding Michigan punt return).

I am guessing the viewership numbers, at least in second half, will not be that high this game.

Sure hope FSU wins and…

Sure hope FSU wins and becomes the 4th team in BCS.  Do not want to see Alabama at #4 for the first game of BCS.

Watching a little FSU in…

Watching a little FSU in commercial breaks: They have literally become Iowa.  Fantastic defense with no ability to make a first down.
