PSU’s coordinator hires: can they overcome Frames?
Personally, I think that Allen’s defense with the typical talent PSU recruits will give UM more trouble than the risk-addicted Diaz defenses did.

The question is what does attractiveness have to do with coaching. Also, I respect a man or woman more when they find their equal and love their sig o, not just because they are attractive or have an attractive mate. Attractive outside can equal ugly inside.
And I say that as a guy married well and dare I say, not too hard on the eyes myself. Although I'm no Tom Brady

Best comment in this thread and it's on the 2nd page. I'll take it step further and say that I didn't even know Tom Allen was a "defensive" coach. I also don't believe this is an improvement over Manny Diaz. This year's PSU defense was pretty stout and one of the best in the country. Their offense was a huge disappointment.

I am OK with this. Penn State is a top program and they will attract someone good. I don't think he will be better than Diaz - just a different personality and one we are familiar with. Our troubles with Indiana usually involved stopping them rather than scoring on them.

Good hire. Generally think Frames does a good job recruiting and finding coordinators (with some misses). This would likely be a win for him and them.

Based on Seth and Brian's general praise for Allen, it looks like a good hire. Allen isn't known for his recruiting, but he managed to find a bunch of gems and even attract 4-star talent. Combine his Xs and Os chops with Franklin's recruiting, and I'm thinking Penn State will be better.

Franklin has made some good coordinator hires in the off-season. His issue is he always ends up Framesing multiple times during the game.

For as much as it’s fun to make fun of Frames, he’s gotten them closer and made a couple of great hires. Glad we miss them on the schedule next year.

Has it been 4 years since Frames has beaten Michigan (covid season) and several more since he had the miracle win vs OSU? Doesnt he usually out recruit us as well? Tom Allen's defenses played well enough against us during their best seasons but as others have stated it wasnt in years we were fantastic at offense anyway. These 40ppg years weve been putting up Allen and Frames are a combined 0-6. Im kind of bummed we dont have PSU to be honest.
