President Ono declines to suspend Harbaugh

According to a journalist alum, Tony Pettiti wanted President Ono to suspend Jim Harbaugh for two games today.
President Ono, given the situation, declined to do so.
Michigan will not be taking anything with Harbaugh lightly.

Devils advocate: big ten president answers to the universities and majority are pushing him to do this so he’s going down that path. He could be a man of integrity and say there’s no evidence but few in the corporate world will go against a group like that

Exactly. Anything short of a postseason ban or vacating the past three years is unlikely to satisfy U-M’s critics.
The fact that people say the B1G must act immediately and that they believe the past three years are tainted indicates those are the two remedies they want. A ban isn’t realistic, but no matter what happens to Harbaugh, there will eventually be a ferocious fight over vacating 2021-23.

Big Ten Commissioner is like the NFL Commissioner, he works for the University Presidents (Owners in the NFL).
Could the Commissioner in either case make a unilateral decision? Sure. But it’s not in his best interest to do so.

I would scoff and say 'yeah right' if this story didn't have so many twists and turns. I would normally not think someone in Ono's position would run right out and tell someone so it could be 'leaked', but will all the coverage it is one way to push back.

I’m all lost now…so did Pettiti and Ono meet today. Bottom line if Harbaugh is not suspended tonight I think he ends up coaching the rest of the season. Doubt the B1G suspends him on game day.
