President Biden Congratulates the Team
Didn't see this posted, but President Biden congratulated the team and the Maize and Blue faithful.

Presidents have always shown love to the national champion.
January 9th, 2024 at 5:50 PM ^
You'd think that a bunch of burly football players would love a ton of McD's, but team nutritionists were probably cringing at this spread lol.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:02 PM ^
I’m old enough to remember the days when OL were told to bulk up by eating an entire pizza for dinner every couple days. That wasn’t THAT long ago.
I’m also old enough to remember when Metallica first hired a nutritionist to go on tour with them. It got a lot of flak, but dude, good call in retrospect.
January 9th, 2024 at 11:08 PM ^
Very interesting. I did not know that. I guess that's why those guys all look so good now despite their age and all the wear and tear of touring.
January 10th, 2024 at 12:18 AM ^
Ah, yes. The patented Gittleson/DeBord Diet. Guaranteed to transform you (your mileage may vary).
January 9th, 2024 at 7:36 PM ^
Probably why it was offered and enjoyed.
January 10th, 2024 at 10:56 AM ^
I never noticed the salads before. Now that is funny!
January 9th, 2024 at 6:06 PM ^
He was in food heaven in that picture 😭
January 9th, 2024 at 6:17 PM ^
That might be his only version of heaven?
January 9th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
Cold fast food is disgusting, even when you're high. At least put that shit in a chafing dish or under some heat lamps.
January 9th, 2024 at 7:10 PM ^
That seemed like another instance where he understood his audience pretty well.
January 9th, 2024 at 5:48 PM ^
National championship politics are the only politics allowed in this board and I am here for it!
January 9th, 2024 at 5:48 PM ^
I'm sure this will end well
January 9th, 2024 at 5:54 PM ^
A congratulatory message is not politics, even if it is a political figure sending the message, unless one chooses to make it political, in which case that user is in trouble.
I would rather not have to lock or remove a thread where one human being is simply congratulating other human beings. For it to come to that would say more about the people doing the posting than the person whose message it is.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:02 PM ^
I completely agree with you.
Sadly, the state of affairs has turned every discourse toxic, even if it's just tangentially politics related.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:19 PM ^
Our society would be in a better place if people on all sides followed this rubric. The sitting president of the country congratulated our team. That's awesome, whether you are a member of his party or a member of the opposing party; whether you think he is the greatest president of all time or you think he is inept, corrupt, evil, etc. Likewise, it is cool when any former president - Trump, Obama, Bush or Clinton (I think I covered all of the living formers) - congratulates our team. Again, doesn't matter if you love or hate them - it's recognition for our team by someone with major influence and a position of importance.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:28 PM ^
Pres. Carter is still alive at the time of this posting. Impressive, really.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
Oh right! He’s been in hospice for a few months now, and his wife recently passed, so I totally forgot that he was still alive.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:19 PM ^
Agreed here. And the declining invites to the White House has been completely asinine also. Complete nonsense.
January 9th, 2024 at 10:06 PM ^
I can tell you that if a president on the other side of my aisle extended this message or gesture, I would take it. Trouble or not, I respect the office of the president and the will of the people no matter how strongly I disagree or agree.
There have been a few presidents on both sides I have hated their policy in the recent 25ish years, but would absolutely shake their hand and honor them as Mr. President if I had the opportunity.
Not all, but much of the toxic political divide is completely manufactured right now.
January 9th, 2024 at 5:53 PM ^
That's nice, but has there been any word from President James Marshall?
January 9th, 2024 at 6:23 PM ^
What about from President Josiah Bartlett? He was a Notre Dame slappy.
January 9th, 2024 at 5:58 PM ^
As a Delawarean, Im sure he appreciates a good winged helmet
January 9th, 2024 at 6:03 PM ^
NOT MY PRESIDENT!
Kidding, cool to see. Any person who makes a political remark over this and means it should be hit with a wet noodle.
January 9th, 2024 at 7:04 PM ^
Hey! Dont disparage wet noodles
January 9th, 2024 at 8:33 PM ^
Shall not be infringed
January 9th, 2024 at 6:03 PM ^
I’m assuming Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s congratulatory message was delayed in the mail?
January 9th, 2024 at 6:14 PM ^
This will always go down as one of my favorites in obscure Michigan lore because it's so damn random.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:06 PM ^
I am a Republican - and strongly approve this message, the Presidential congrats and the post.
Today on this board - there are no Republicans versus Democrats. There is Michigan versus Everybody - and we know who won!
Go Blue!!!

Damone, I always knew you were no good (after what you did to Stacy).
January 9th, 2024 at 6:18 PM ^
That’s not even his worst crime. His worst crime is thinking that “Kashmir” was on Led Zeppelin IV.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:32 PM ^
Actually, Rat did that. He failed to follow Damone's instructions which is why he failed with Stacy.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:38 PM ^
I can forgive politics but really? Kashmir on Led Zeppelin IV? That's a bridge too far.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:07 PM ^
let's win another before his current term ends
January 9th, 2024 at 6:09 PM ^
A very nice tradition continues. No politics. That's all that is going on here.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:11 PM ^
Did he get the team right? (sorry, I couldn't resist)
January 9th, 2024 at 9:43 PM ^
Did you?
January 9th, 2024 at 10:01 PM ^
Did I what?
January 9th, 2024 at 6:26 PM ^
I want to, but I won't. Pat me on the back moms. I'm a good boy today. National Champs has me in a more compliant mood. I've turned over a new Eucalyptus leaf.
January 9th, 2024 at 6:31 PM ^
Joe will claim that Fielding Yost gave him a scholarship to play QB at the U of M but that since he didn't offer CornPop, he decided to play at Grambling instead because they didn't discriminate.
January 9th, 2024 at 7:39 PM ^
And he would be right!
January 9th, 2024 at 6:47 PM ^
America's Team.
January 9th, 2024 at 8:24 PM ^
Instructions unclear: vote placed for Frank Capra.
January 9th, 2024 at 7:22 PM ^
Assuming the team makes a trip to the White House, what kind of food should they serve? I’m going to say surf and turf: beef tenderloin and lobster. Nothing but the best.
January 9th, 2024 at 7:49 PM ^
A dish that is best served cold!
January 9th, 2024 at 7:52 PM ^
I just feel like lobster is a lot of work to eat. I could see a filet and grilled shrimp pairing.
January 9th, 2024 at 8:11 PM ^
zingermans
or the purest irony, cheeseburgers
January 9th, 2024 at 8:40 PM ^
If you’ve ever been to Chicago, a double from Au Cheval would be mighty welcome.
