Not good! Maybe Warde should stop lowballing Harbaugh. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/2022/01/28/michigan-football-mailbag-macdonalds-departure-harbaughs-future-have-readers-writing/9256158002/

“My understanding is this latest, unsigned deal is not going to put Harbaugh in the financial neighborhood of those big deals like Mel Tucker and James Franklin received. So, to me, the ball seems to be in athletic director Warde Manuel’s court.”

I don't think Warde's offer is objectively a low-ball offer.  It can't be less than $8-9 million per year.  JH construes his worth as higher than it is.  And I don't think he's interviewing with the Vikings solely to create leverage.  He wants to go back to the NFL.  If even a scintilla of the reports about his actions are correct, he's prostituting himself to NFL teams to try to find the right fit.

Agree.  If he stays, he has to have a large buyout.  This annual prostituting to the NFL has to end.  At this point, I say fuck him and move on.  If he comes back, he may revert to his indifferent attitude. Just no Gattis or Hart.  God help us if that's the case.  I don't think the big donors would let that happen, beyond on an interim basis.

You're such a rude SOB.  Why do you condone UM being treated like this?  Obviously, you didn't attend the university or you would give a shit.  Do you live and/or pay taxes in A2?  Is that what you feel gives you standing to favor a coach who is stomping over others' alma maters?

Fire someone with multiple years left on a contract signed last year, after the subject employee beat Ohio, won the B1G East, finished as B1G Champions and achieved a final national ranking as the number 3 team?

Fire him "under a pretense"??? Unilaterally "announce it's over"?

Stop, take a deep breath, hold it, release it slowly and rethink what you're typing.

Kolesar,

You are speculating about a possible contract offer, JH's thought processes and behaviors and then you are reacting negatively ("prostituting himself" --- really?) to your unverified speculations. Might you possibly see how this way of reasoning/line of thinking is less than, uh, optimal?

The only thing you know is that he has not signed an extension. The only "and" I am sure about is that the current state of affairs has made you angry.

You're assuming that the football program has been damaged by something he has not done. I don't see anything that indicates that the program has been hurt.

Let it go. This will play out when JH is ready to stay (with or without a different contract) or go someplace else.

The tenets of classic narcissism are

  • Grandiosity. Exaggerated sense of self-importance
  • Excessive need for admiration
  • Superficial and exploitative relationships
  • Lack of empathy
  • Chronic feelings of emptiness and boredom

I'm not sure how you possibly gleaned that psychological assessment from Timmay's post.

In fact all you really did was validate his original assertion.

I'm going to assume that you've already been sent to Oblivion because of your one month account. At the rate that you're going you're going back. How about next time you don't make a new account. Your personality seems to fit the Michigan subreddit better.
