I meant plural, as in the organization, not Erik the Red.

Now this.

Okay let me rephrase that.
The sports gods hate us today*
January 29th, 2022 at 8:18 PM ^
Actually, Michigan WOMEN'S BASKETBALL beat Ohio State just TWO DAYS ago.
Also, considering that Michigan FOOTBALL beat Ohio State on November 27, 2021, that really would be FEWER than THREE months ago. s/ Stannis Baratheon and Weird Al Yankovic.

Not good! Maybe Warde should stop lowballing Harbaugh. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/2022/01/28/michigan-football-mailbag-macdonalds-departure-harbaughs-future-have-readers-writing/9256158002/
“My understanding is this latest, unsigned deal is not going to put Harbaugh in the financial neighborhood of those big deals like Mel Tucker and James Franklin received. So, to me, the ball seems to be in athletic director Warde Manuel’s court.”
January 29th, 2022 at 4:28 PM ^
I don't think Warde's offer is objectively a low-ball offer. It can't be less than $8-9 million per year. JH construes his worth as higher than it is. And I don't think he's interviewing with the Vikings solely to create leverage. He wants to go back to the NFL. If even a scintilla of the reports about his actions are correct, he's prostituting himself to NFL teams to try to find the right fit.
January 29th, 2022 at 4:32 PM ^
Then Warde should force him to resign if he’s that hell bent on getting back to the NFL.
January 29th, 2022 at 4:36 PM ^
I mean, I wouldn’t go that far. I agree it seems he’s adamant about leaving. In the event he stays, his buy out going forward should be high. This doesn’t need to happen yet again next year if he returns
January 29th, 2022 at 5:03 PM ^
Agree. If he stays, he has to have a large buyout. This annual prostituting to the NFL has to end. At this point, I say fuck him and move on. If he comes back, he may revert to his indifferent attitude. Just no Gattis or Hart. God help us if that's the case. I don't think the big donors would let that happen, beyond on an interim basis.

You quickly have become the worst. Your life must be something.
January 29th, 2022 at 5:50 PM ^
You're such a rude SOB. Why do you condone UM being treated like this? Obviously, you didn't attend the university or you would give a shit. Do you live and/or pay taxes in A2? Is that what you feel gives you standing to favor a coach who is stomping over others' alma maters?
January 29th, 2022 at 6:12 PM ^
You literally said F(&& our coach! You need psychological help. You cannot defend that statement ever. He’s done absolutely nothing for you to disrespect his name and legacy, like that.
January 29th, 2022 at 8:04 PM ^
And you are saying "Fuck our university", which is horrible. No one is bigger than UM. Just ask Schlissel. Shame on your for advocating behavior that fucks UM's football program.
January 29th, 2022 at 9:00 PM ^
HateSparty was right. You quickly have become the worst. First you type "Fuck Harbaugh" and now you are typing "Fuck our university." Get help before you post again.
January 29th, 2022 at 9:18 PM ^
Context is important Mr. Trump. You need to quote me accurately and stop taking actions that disparage UM.
January 29th, 2022 at 11:36 PM ^
Distinct signs of trollism.
January 29th, 2022 at 7:12 PM ^
I can't blame someone if they (A) want to do their chosen profession at the highest level and (B) seek to maximize their income by looking at different employers.
If that is "prostitution," then most humans are prostitutes.
January 29th, 2022 at 10:45 PM ^
Serious question.. I understand Hart. But why not the National Assistant Coach of the Year in Gattis? Please explain. Excuse my directness, but I’m sensing a undertone to your statement. I am hoping I’m wrong.
January 30th, 2022 at 8:47 AM ^
Why not Gattis?
Because he's never been a head coach and prior to this year when we decided to run our high school offense, he wasn't highly regarded as an OC.
January 30th, 2022 at 8:38 AM ^
Agree.
What's everyone have an issue with here?
January 29th, 2022 at 5:23 PM ^
Force him to resign from an already existing, signed contract because JH is, possibly, not signing a different contract? Wow...
Nope, just nope. That's not how the whole concept of an employment agreement works.
January 29th, 2022 at 5:46 PM ^
Under the pretense he’s leaving for sure and just waiting for an NFL offer. Warde should do just that. Annnouce it’s over and Jim is stepping down.
January 29th, 2022 at 6:23 PM ^
Fire someone with multiple years left on a contract signed last year, after the subject employee beat Ohio, won the B1G East, finished as B1G Champions and achieved a final national ranking as the number 3 team?
Fire him "under a pretense"??? Unilaterally "announce it's over"?
Stop, take a deep breath, hold it, release it slowly and rethink what you're typing.
January 29th, 2022 at 6:28 PM ^
Under the circumstance he is leaving for sure and wants to go to the NFL now or in the future. Yes, announce it’s over. He should not be allowed to continue on as a lame duck type of coach if he doesn’t get an NFL job this cycle.
January 29th, 2022 at 7:36 PM ^
The offer is reported the same as Ryan Day with incentives to be the highest paid coach in college football.
That isn't really lowballing him.
It's just not a Tucker/Brian Kelly base salary.
We're acting like Warde offered him the same salary plus a cheeseburger.
January 30th, 2022 at 2:54 AM ^
Depends on the cheeseburger.
January 29th, 2022 at 4:35 PM ^
I'm not sure how talking to teams to find a good fit qualifies as prostituting himself.
January 29th, 2022 at 5:43 PM ^
The only way I could see these interviews as him prostituting himself is if they are paying him to perform sexual acts.
January 29th, 2022 at 5:02 PM ^
Interviewing for an NFL job is “offering his talents to an unworthy or corrupt use for personal or financial gain”? I presume that is what you are suggesting when you say that he is prostituting himself to the NFL?
January 29th, 2022 at 5:04 PM ^
Correct.
January 29th, 2022 at 5:19 PM ^
Are you upvoting your own posts? That’s all sorts of sad, but not all that surprising given the content of your posts
January 29th, 2022 at 5:46 PM ^
Preferring another job to the one others would like one to keep would not normally be construed as prostituting one's self.
January 29th, 2022 at 5:16 PM ^
Kolesar,
You are speculating about a possible contract offer, JH's thought processes and behaviors and then you are reacting negatively ("prostituting himself" --- really?) to your unverified speculations. Might you possibly see how this way of reasoning/line of thinking is less than, uh, optimal?
January 29th, 2022 at 7:51 PM ^
No. What I know is that he hasn't signed an extension with UM and its hurting the program. That's not speculative.
January 29th, 2022 at 8:14 PM ^
The only thing you know is that he has not signed an extension. The only "and" I am sure about is that the current state of affairs has made you angry.
You're assuming that the football program has been damaged by something he has not done. I don't see anything that indicates that the program has been hurt.
Let it go. This will play out when JH is ready to stay (with or without a different contract) or go someplace else.
January 29th, 2022 at 5:30 PM ^
Objectively, you are an idiot. I mean it.
January 29th, 2022 at 5:54 PM ^
Timmay! Timmay! Objectively? I love how you say I'm an idiot and then offer no proof whatsoever of why. Classic narcissist response and behavior.
January 29th, 2022 at 6:00 PM ^
Says the jackass upvoting his own posts. Pot, meet kettle
January 29th, 2022 at 6:59 PM ^
The tenets of classic narcissism are
- Grandiosity. Exaggerated sense of self-importance
- Excessive need for admiration
- Superficial and exploitative relationships
- Lack of empathy
- Chronic feelings of emptiness and boredom
I'm not sure how you possibly gleaned that psychological assessment from Timmay's post.
In fact all you really did was validate his original assertion.
January 29th, 2022 at 8:32 PM ^
I'm going to assume that you've already been sent to Oblivion because of your one month account. At the rate that you're going you're going back. How about next time you don't make a new account. Your personality seems to fit the Michigan subreddit better.

Kolesar is an obvious Sparty troll. Posting history shows no attempt at even trying to disguise.
