Cool post. Thanks for sharing.

Cool? I want to throw up in my Cheerios. It is OBSCENE these coaches get paid that kind of money. Jeff Brohm makes $6 million?? Who the fuck is Jeff Brohm?
October 22nd, 2019 at 9:53 PM ^
Serious question: Why does this bother you so much? It’s a ton of money, sure, but these guys are the top of their profession, or at least close to it. Top CEOs, athletes, actors and musicians make significantly more.
October 24th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
Serious question: Why doesn't a grossly hierarchical structure where the highest paid people make obscene money when half the country makes poverty wages bother you?
Another problem with these wages? They are inflated due to the free labor of the athletes. That's not something to just be shrugged off IMO.

JIM HAS NOT WON ENOUGH GAMES TO BE PAID $7.5 MILLION, OUR COACH SHOULD WIN EXACTLY 2 GAMES A YEAR AND EARN A MORE RESPECTABLE $80,000.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:30 PM ^
Preach brotha!
Joking of course.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:42 PM ^
Mr. Brohm is making JH look underrated. Mr. Brohm got paid 6.6mil by beating Ohio. Mr. Brohm is doing well.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:46 PM ^
IF COACHES HAD ANY DIGNITY THEY WOULD ALL SIGN CONTRACTS THAT PAID THEM THE US MEDIAN SALARY UNTIL THEY WON THEIR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP, AT WHICH POINT THEY WOULD BE PRESENTED WITH A COMICALLY LARGE CHECK IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000,000 BY WAYNE BRADY.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:51 PM ^
Would they have to cash that at the large check bank?
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:55 PM ^
COACHES MUST KEEP ALL OF THEIR LIQUID ASSETS IN A 3 FOOT TALL, TRANSPARENT, PLASTIC COKE BOTTLE UNTIL THEY WIN A NEW YEAR'S SIX BOWL GAME.

THIS GUY IS GREAT! I WANT MORE OF THIS RANT!
October 23rd, 2019 at 9:41 AM ^
all caps is the new /s
October 23rd, 2019 at 1:31 PM ^
Would that 3 foot tall coke bottle come with 2 oversized, complimentary, tickets to a home Michigan game, delivered by Dave Brandon?
October 23rd, 2019 at 8:52 AM ^
I have to admit, it would be funny to see that. Think of the type of rampant cheating that would happen under this situation. There would be at least one Tonya Harding-type incident a year where a coach hires thugs to injure an opposing team’s QB.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:28 PM ^
Harbaugh is underpaid
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:34 PM ^
2 wins vs rivals outta 7
2X7=14
Harbaugh is worth 14 million dollars
October 22nd, 2019 at 10:28 PM ^
Lol. Looks like MoCarrBo is back from Bolivia. A persistent little troll.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:36 PM ^
Hmm. Dabo is #1. Still only about 5% of the team payroll though,
October 22nd, 2019 at 9:55 PM ^
This was funny!!!
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:43 PM ^
Can't be correct...mgoblog commenters keep saying he makes more than $9 million/year.
Seriously though, for as much as people complain about Harbaugh, do you see now it's not just as simple as wins = salary. Do you want Brohm, Frost, or Jimbo?
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:46 PM ^
I feel like Mr. Frost could do some magical things with this roster.
October 22nd, 2019 at 8:02 PM ^
God! No. Just, no.
October 22nd, 2019 at 8:17 PM ^
He'd somehow find a way for them to lose even more games due to incompetence and a general mishandling of basic football procedures?
October 22nd, 2019 at 10:32 PM ^
You're pining for Scott Frost?
I mean come on man.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:54 PM ^
The way some people talk here, sometimes I think they would want Brohm. I say that all the time to people who complain about how can't beat OSU and ignore everything else he has done: "If you could would you trade places with Purdue? Because I sure as hell wouldn't."
October 22nd, 2019 at 10:05 PM ^
Purdue has a fraction of the talent we have, and are dealing with a bunch of injuries this year. Brohm has done a pretty damn good job there, this year notwithstanding.
October 23rd, 2019 at 10:00 AM ^
Brohm lucked out beating OSU getting the ball to Rondale Moore every play. His W-L is awful.
October 23rd, 2019 at 11:22 AM ^
Many of the people who would want Brohm are so eager to overlook their external factors causing problems, while completely and totally ignoring the external factors that have worked against Jim so far.
October 23rd, 2019 at 12:34 PM ^
What external factors? He's had total control of the program since day 1.
October 23rd, 2019 at 12:47 PM ^
??????
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
I think the $9 million a year gets thrown around because he was listed as earning $9 million one year. It was the year that Michigan gave Harbaugh a $2 million “loan” at 0% interest on top of his annual salary.
October 22nd, 2019 at 8:06 PM ^
Typical everyday loan...
October 22nd, 2019 at 8:09 PM ^
I would kick the tires on Frost for sure.
Brohm would be intriguing with that offense of his. But nah.
Jimbo is a better coach than Harbaugh so why wouldn’t you want him?
October 22nd, 2019 at 8:37 PM ^
I would only agree with Jimbo at this point. Frost hasn’t proven anything, year 2 I know, but I’m still not sold. I’d rather row the boat with PJ Fleck than entertain Frost.
October 22nd, 2019 at 8:39 PM ^
Yeah PJ would be near the top of the short list ahead of Frost.
October 23rd, 2019 at 9:13 AM ^
As long as Fleck would actually bring in top-tier coordinators and assistants it might be worth a gamble.
October 22nd, 2019 at 9:02 PM ^
Jimbo had a great 3 year run in the ACC. Obviously a national championship is awesome. Out of his 8 years there 4 were basically the same as Harbaugh's first 4 here and Jimbo also had a losing season. Once he went a better conference he's been merely above average. 13-7, or 0.65. (Harbaugh at Michigan is 46-13 or 0.73.) Jimbo has only coached in states that are in the top 3 in HS talent, Michigan would be much tougher.
Basically I don't think it's a given that Jimbo would be much better in the Big Ten East.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:45 PM ^
I just, who fucking cares?
What exactly is the minimum or maximum salaray per win or per BTT or per CFP berth that would be ideal?
October 23rd, 2019 at 1:24 PM ^
I find it mildly interesting.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:50 PM ^
Folks like to throw out JH's record on the road against ranked teams. James Franklin is 1-7 against ranked opponents on the road. No one talks about that because he beat OSU once by pure luck and we lost to OSU by pure luck in 2016.
October 22nd, 2019 at 7:52 PM ^
Ped St is lucky to have a football pulse after what went down, I feel like they are ok with their coaching situation.
October 22nd, 2019 at 8:26 PM ^
If you meant we lost by “pure luck” you meant we were screwed by a Delaney ref rig job, then yes.
October 23rd, 2019 at 9:03 AM ^
"...screwed by a Delaney ref rig job..."
Everybody drink!
October 23rd, 2019 at 1:12 PM ^
Yeah what are the refs getting paid to make bad calls only against Michigan?
October 22nd, 2019 at 9:25 PM ^
James Franklin fucking sucks. If that’s your bar, yeah... get some standards.
October 22nd, 2019 at 10:11 PM ^
Well, he's basically in the running for the second best team in the conference with Wiscy & UM, so I'd say besides not being OSU he's doing pretty good.
October 22nd, 2019 at 11:20 PM ^
He sucks and PSU being above Michigan says more about Michigan than it does about Franklin.
October 23rd, 2019 at 8:18 AM ^
Why do you think UM has some right to be ahead of PSU? I know UM has had a good record against PSU over the years, but there were quite a few times even through the 90s where PSU was ranked ahead of UM and/or had a better record.
1990: UM 9-3, PSU 9-3
1991: UM 10-2, PSU 11-2
1992: UM 9-0-3, PSU 7-5
1993: UM 8-4, PSU 10-2
1994: UM 8-4, PSU 12-0
1995: UM 9-4, PSU 9-3
1996: UM 8-4, PSU 11-2
1997: UM 12-0, PSU 9-3
1998: UM 10-3, PSU 9-3
1999: UM 10-2, PSU 10-3
These two teams have been pretty similar since Joe Pa got there minus the years during the Sandusky saga.
