Serious question: Why doesn't a grossly hierarchical structure where the highest paid people make obscene money when half the country makes poverty wages bother you?

Another problem with these wages? They are inflated due to the free labor of the athletes. That's not something to just be shrugged off IMO.

Can't be correct...mgoblog commenters keep saying he makes more than $9 million/year.

Seriously though, for as much as people complain about Harbaugh, do you see now it's not just as simple as wins = salary. Do you want Brohm, Frost, or Jimbo?

Jimbo had a great 3 year run in the ACC. Obviously a national championship is awesome. Out of his 8 years there 4 were basically the same as Harbaugh's first 4 here and Jimbo also had a losing season. Once he went a better conference he's been merely above average. 13-7, or 0.65. (Harbaugh at Michigan is 46-13 or 0.73.) Jimbo has only coached in states that are in the top 3 in HS talent, Michigan would be much tougher.

Basically I don't think it's a given that Jimbo would be much better in the Big Ten East.

Folks like to throw out JH's record on the road against ranked teams.  James Franklin is 1-7 against ranked opponents on the road.  No one talks about that because he beat OSU once by pure luck and we lost to OSU by pure luck in 2016.

Why do you think UM has some right to be ahead of PSU?  I know UM has had a good record against PSU over the years, but there were quite a few times even through the 90s where PSU was ranked ahead of UM and/or had a better record.

1990: UM 9-3, PSU 9-3

1991: UM 10-2, PSU 11-2

1992: UM 9-0-3, PSU 7-5

1993: UM 8-4, PSU 10-2

1994: UM 8-4, PSU 12-0

1995: UM 9-4, PSU 9-3

1996: UM 8-4, PSU 11-2

1997: UM 12-0, PSU 9-3

1998: UM 10-3, PSU 9-3

1999: UM 10-2, PSU 10-3

These two teams have been pretty similar since Joe Pa got there minus the years during the Sandusky saga.
