As this article explains, seems like Urban has created some serious tension between his coaches and players in Jacksonville. (Again).

In the last two weeks alone, he's thrown his WR unit under the bus - resulting in locker room favorite, and former Detroit Lion, Marvin Jones to storm out of practice, only to be convinced back - to which he then got into a heated argument with Urban. He also benched their #1 RB in a game in favor of his old boy Carlos Hyde, but the most damning thing out of the last two weeks was this gem:

"During a staff meeting, Meyer delivered a biting message that he's a winner and his assistant coaches are losers, according to several people informed of the contents of the meeting, challenging each coach individually to explain when they've ever won and forcing them to defend their résumés."

What a massive dick hole this guy is.

Urban is more like Rick Pitino than Nick Saban. Both Pitino and Saban failed at the pro levels, but Saban has a bit more of a moral compass than Urban and Pitino. My prediction - Urban Meyer is coaching at Florida State either next year or the year following similar to turncoat Pitino coaching at Louisville after his run at Kentucky. If Urban was interested in FSU right now, they’d dump their current coach in a heartbeat in January once the NFL season is done.

In no way surprised. Scandal and toxicity follow this guy every place he gets run out of. He should stick to running the spread in college. Coaches like him and Saban show what they're really made of in the NFL, where their massive recruiting advantage disappears, and mysteriously so do all their wins...

Saban is on the same level as Meyers.

Those of us that remember him ripping and belittling the press for asking if he was taking Alabama/Miami jobs, know what a douche he is. Pulling scholarships at the last minute and many other BS things.

My favorite take on Saban is from HOF Tight End/Broadcaster and member of the UM team that beat the "Team of the Century" in 1969, Jim Mandich.

Largely because the Dolphins don't have bagmen who can simply buy the #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 draft picks every single year. At Alabama they do that every single year. You give that massive talent disparity to a good coach and they'll certainly dominate. Saban is absolutely a good coach, I don't deny that, but I would give the massive talent disparity the larger share of the credit for their dominance than coaching brilliance. In the NFL where the playing field is far more level, dominant college coaches end up not dominating anymore.

Big reach. Saban's first 2 rings were built off top 3-10 classes, didn't have a #1 class until his third ring. Lost most of his starters to the draft last year, and is still the best team in the country. Loses coordinators left and right but never has issues finding better ones.

LSU, Texas, Ohio State, Georgia and USC have had similar stretches of elite recruiting during the previous decade. None have replicated the success of Alabama or even been close.

To make a better point about talent disparities and the differences between good coaches thriving in the most ideal of ideal situations and getting far more credit than is due vs struggling in bad ones and bolting very quickly, I'll say Chip Kelly. Good coach, dominated the Pac12 by coaching at Nike U, building a talent disparity, and running a tempo spread. NFL teams drool over him, goes to the NFL and shits the bed as both a coach and a GM. Goes back to college to a place that's not Nike U, and it took 4 years just to get a winning season. It's not that he's a bad coach, he is a good coach, but the organization and talent disparities should be a gigantic asterisk on some coaches college dominance.

Yeah, you need to really gig those assholes who insult THEE Ohio State University with their clearly-intended-to-be-obnoxious "O-H-I-O" chants aimed at poor OSU fans.  And that band that taunts OSU fans with "script Ohio" should be banned from campus.

Urban is the gift that keeps on giving.  About the only other CFB coach who could generate such disdain in an NFL locker room would be Brian Kelly, routinely excoriated by former co-workers as a massive douche nozzle.  *
