For the record, I love TB as a representative for UM FB, but am highly skeptical as him as a good father.

Tom Brady the quarterback is otherworldly. Tom Brady the committed partner, not so much. He left Bridget Moynahan for Gisele while Moynahan was pregnant with his child. Not the classiest move.

This is what I was thinking. If that writing was on the wall and the personal time that he took couldn't retrieve it, it makes sense to stick with what he loves and not lose it for nothing.
Sometimes when you come home from your career, you think that being with the family is going to be one thing, and it turns out to be something else. If the marriage isn't already built on something that spans major life changes, then you can go through the change, lose whatever is lost in the change, and still lose the marriage...
He might just play till 50 now...

Agreed. This is a disappointing situation. I'm sure that being a professional athlete consumes one to the point to where there is little time for anything else. He probably should have prioritized his family at this point. On the other hand, perhaps football is more important to him.

He’s accomplished everything there is to accomplish in football but, like many athletes, he can’t let go, and it’s probably even harder for him because he can still perform at a high level. If his unretirement is really what ended it, I see her point.

You’re right. Maybe football was more important to him at the moment he decided to come back, or maybe he just thought he could do whatever he wanted and his wife would continue to go along with him making his career his #1 priority for one more year. Whatever he was thinking, I wonder he’ll still look at it the same way ten years from now.

Agreed. The flip side of that quote is, "I wish I would have worked more and spent less time with family". I can't imagine what it feels like to be the GOAT in anyone's profession, but still, at the very end... one would think family and specifically children would be top of mind.
Hope they can work it out.. I never like to see a family split up over work schedules.

Hard to say from my arm chair QB position, but I was so baffled after he came back after the last ring. To ride that sunset as #1 with another ring, powerful shit....now he is dealing with an average team and will probably get beat up this year without their star center

Maybe it's just the rumors that his decision to come back was the final straw and at this point in his career...it doesn't seem worth it to break up a family.
Obviously rumors and speculation, and I shouldn't give a damn, not my wife. But it was kind of sad hearing this earlier today.
