Mama said "Brian Kelly is the devil".

Imagine the devil going on a recruiting trail with a fake southern accent. Hope is prepared for gator BBQ.

What an asshole. Seriously, how does that little act seem like a good idea to him? Why is he trying to sound southern? They know damn well where he is from. Lots of Northern coaches go down south and 99% don’t end up sounding like foghorn leghorn on ludes.

What a phony. He's from Boston. And all of the sudden, he starts talking like Huey Long.

This shtick will wear off quickly if he doesn't win big within 2 years.

ND recruits well with most top kids from Catholic high schools in this country. The school recruits itself and so does the lore of the program's history. While Louisiana has great talent, you have much more competition in the SEC for top kids than you do at ND.

In the words of your Boston neighbor Will Hunting, "Do you like apples? How do you like them apples?"

A total phony. Complete douchebaggery. Only thing authentic is his purple face. And for everyone who says he’s a great coach, just watch what happens when he doesn’t have the benefit of Notre Dame’s candy ass schedule to protect him and prop his team up.

may his time in baton rouge go as poorly as his faux-accent.

head shakingly bad.  and the kids at ND who see this?  i bet the social media response will be merciless and funny.

I watched the clip and didn't notice an accent.  Of course prior to moving to IN I spen most of my adult live living in the South so maybe the accent has to be thicker for me to notice.

Disappointed. Thought Crawfish Kelly would be barefoot and sporting cutoff jean shorts. Maybe that'll follow now that the accent has arrived?

I could see why elite athletes in the most talent rich state per capita would want to stay in state and play for Coach O.

I can’t conceivably think why any of those athletes would want to play for Brian Kelly

Am I the only one offended by the phrase "WON ALL MY GAMES"?

Those are team wins, university wins.  They don't belong to you and you can't win alone.

I really hate to see people move and then fail as it is so damn painful for all involved (as long as Michigan wins it all) but this feels like a disaster about to unfold.

Tressel-like in one sense but—credit to Tressel—not really Tressel-like.

Tressel was about the team. BK leads with “I haven’t won all MY games yet.”

Not saying it makes him a bad coach, his teams do well. But it does make him a bad leader. His lack of leadership defies his football success. I guess he should be admired for that.

read a few more lines into that link.  not only is it okay, it couldn't possibly be more spot on:

The most popular folk etymology, however, stems from late Louisiana congressman and cultural activist James "Jimmy" Domengeaux, who maintained that "coonass" derived from the continental French word connasse.[2] According to the French Wiktionary, the French Larousse dictionary, and the French Wikipediaconnasse entered the French language at the beginning of the 19th century and the term translates loosely to "dirty prostitute".

I have heard politicians put on phony accents all too often (insert your favorite here).  First time I have heard a football coach do it.  Hey, Brian, Saban doesn’t talk like that.  Accents don’t matter, results do.

Not gonna lie, I thought someone inserted the fake twang thing over the real audio.  I thought....no fucking way is that real.  I'm dying over here.  How can you honestly even look these people in the eye and think they will believe ANYTHING you say.

Also, the whole "I haven't won all my games yet" is super cringy.

I think Kelly is pond scum and has been for some time.

At the end of the 2006 season, Kelly left to accept the Cincinnati coaching vacancy three days after CMU won the 2006 MAC Championship. Kelly was named Cincinnati's head coach on December 3, 2006, following the departure of none other than Mark Dantonio.  In an unusual move, Cincinnati elected not to appoint an interim coach and asked Kelly to assume his duties immediately by coaching the Bearcats in their bowl game. Central Michigan was also preparing for a bowl appearance, so while Kelly was in Cincinnati preparing the Bearcats, much of his staff remained at Central Michigan to coach the Chippewas. Following Central Michigan's 31–14 win in the Motor City Bowl on December 26, most of his staff joined him in Cincinnati, where they went on to coach Cincinnati to a 27–24 victory over Western Michigan University in that year's International Bowl on January 6. Cincinnati's victory gave Kelly the unique distinction of having defeated the same team twice in a season as coach of two different teams (Central Michigan had defeated Western Michigan 31–7 earlier that season).
