As a Bears fan, I'm OK that we didn't add another mediocre QB. We have plenty of those. Do I have faith that the Bears from staff would do any better with those future draft picks? Nope!

I may not pay as much attention as you do, but how much of Wentz regressing from his MVP form was due to him having absolutely no weapons to throw to (or any weapons he did have were injured), and his OL was a far cry from where it was on the Super Bowl run? Not a critique of your point. Just an honest question.

I'm sure he's got something to do with his own regression as well, but his situation also reminds me a bit of Cam with the Pats. Yes, Cam has regressed as well, but you've surrounded him with a bunch of nobodies who can't play at a high level. What did you expect would happen? It just seems to me that Wentz, at least partially, was set up to fail given what he had to work with.

You may be right, but it's not like the Bears are going to have any weapons next year either. Or an OL, as both tackles are probably getting cut. I'm not sure why the org didn't clean house this year, since it seems like they're going to next year anyway, but I'm thinking they should just bottom out.

If I were running the Bears I would have jumped on Bieniemy. Why stick with Nagy in a lame duck year when there are other good coaches available?

You may be right, but the fact Stafford has played his whole career in the worst organization in North American professional sports makes for an unfair comparison.  A lot of people criticize Stafford for the lack of winning, especially in the playoffs, and the numbers speak for themselves.  However, I don't think any QB could have succeeded consistently in the same circumstances.  Would Tom Brady be the unquestioned GOAT if he played his whole career for the Lions?  What will determine whether it's been Stafford as the problem or the Lions as the problem, for me, will be how he does these next few years in LA with a playoff ready team--while he still has a lot of good years left.  If he has the same failings with the Rams and fizzles at crunch time, we'll know the answer.  Conversely, if he puts up numbers consistent with what he did in Detroit and makes some playoff runs, we'll know the answer regarding the Lions organization as well.  My apologies for being so long-winded.

Looking purely at on the field results, the Chargers haven't been able to get into the Super Bowl since Eric Bieniemy was playing, but they've won multiple playoff games this century and got into the conference championship once. So that's a step above the Lions.

Looking at their decision to move to LA, I'm not so sure.

@Tuebor, you also forgot the all important stat of publicly blaming your teammates for something that just went wrong on the field (ex. an interception, a QB fumble or a delay of game penalty). Rivers has a large lead over Stafford in this category too.

Seems like decent value for the Colts? A little amusing in hindsight that it seems like the Eagles kept 'leaking' info trying to drive the price up like that the Bears were going to trade one or two 1st rounders for Wentz

Brilliant deal for Colts. That is a low price for a guy who led his team to the Super Bowl just a couple of years ago. Is he going to be great? Probably not, but at that price, he doesn’t have to be.

There were rumors Luck may come back to the Colts, but with Wentz coming that may not happen.

I want Luck to come to Denver. That would make him the 3rd Colts QB, drafted 1st overall, to play for the Broncos. The first two, Elway and Manning, did very well here.

Good luck Philly.  Way over the cap and now hitching wagon to Jalen Hurts.  Sounds like a couple years of top 5 - 10 picks and fun on WIP.  If they trade Ertz, what is the added comp if Julie is included in the deal?  I'd give up a 2nd for her!!!

As a Colts fan, I think it was basically our best bet if we couldn't get Stafford. Do I necessarily believe in Wentz? No. But if he doesn't work out we save our first rounder and try again next off-season.
