OT-Happy for Brandon Peters

Really happy for BP!!!

Just want to say I'm really happy for Brandon Peters, who was concussed by this same team when playing for UM, never complained and was always a good teammate while at UM, and (apparently lucky for us, but unfortunate for him) didn't get to play against us, his former team last week.

Jalen Hurts is an elite QB that won a national title at BAMA and now is leading a top team at Oklahoma. But for guys like Peters their college football careers can often go by without a second chance or maybe even that one remarkable moment.  Today, Peters got his great college football moment.  Really happy for a good kid and hope he continues to progress, and maybe even has an NFL team takes a shot on him late in the draft.

College football is awesome, especially when good things can happen to good kids that keep working.

Happy for the Great Bearded Wonder too....Congrats Lovie.  Whisky was getting a bit too uppity and big-headed...happy to see them eat an abysmal (31 point favorites) upset.

***This was not created for the Shea - Peters debate or Harbaugh QB development debate although I'm sure that's where this heads, as it is ultimately a UM blog.

Yes, we are all happy for the young man. However, you throw 21 passes and complete only 9. That’s not winning the game for a team, that defense of the Illini showed up and balled out.

He was no John Elway out there.  Just happy he got his college football moment.  Most kids labeled "a bust" or that need to transfer to a lesser program, never get to feel that awesome upset or big game win.  No, Illinois won't be playing for the B1G championship and probably doesn't make a bowl game this year, but at least BP got his college moment to celebrate with his teammates.

This has nothing to do with the Patterson-Peters competition. There is no suggestion that Peters would be starting if he hadn't transferred.

I'm not sure what you've been reading, but for a while we heard about A J Dillon and Thomas Rawls every week. Magnus has a regular feature about former Wolverines. Pretty much everyone else who posts about them is inconsistent about choosing what and when to post. The upset of Wisconsin is the type of event that elicits posts.

I know it can be hard not to be cynical of random internet poster these days, but I don't follow every UM player that transfers very closely - but when it's a former highly rated UM QB that just played a game I was watching for 3 hours, and he was part of the biggest upset of the year so far and was able to enjoy it with his teammates, I can be genuinely happy for the kid - who never complained here and just went about his business until he transferred.

Add in the fact that this same team he just beat had concussed him while he was at UM, there is a bit of a revenge factor for him in beating them.  Yes, I knew that this would bring up an inevitable QB debate/discussion given how thing played out at UM, but this debate was not the intention of the post.

You can still genuinely be happy for people who get to enjoy a nice moment after they underwent (hardship/needing to transfer/going to a lesser program) without having some ulterior motive.

Exactly. This is a pretty bizarre assertion.

It appeered to me like Michigan played poorly on the road against Wisconsin last month and particularly offensive installation to that point was not good.

Whereas, on this date it seemed like Wisconsin overlooked Illinois and, despite a pedestrian day from Brandon Peters, the Illini defense carried them to a nice win.

Poster looking for transitive property in college football gonna be looking for a while...

Peters played just ok — if that.  Why can’t we just be happy for the kid without shitting on our qb?  It obvious why the staff was looking for a better option.   Here is the best part — if Shea was 9 for 21 tonight people would be killing him even if our defense was able to pull out the win.

(apparently lucky for us, but unfortunate for him) didn't get to play against us,

I don't know if there is that much of a difference between Peters and Matt Robinson.  I thought Robinson looked decent last week.  Peters' arm is a little better but Robinson is more mobile.

Look at BPs stats from this game and then look at Shea’s stats at Wisconsin.

Shea played better and got the L, Peters completes 9 passes and got the W.

Objectively untrue. He completed a 70 yard pass on his first pass of the game and was foiled by a Ben Mason fumble. I'm sure if you keep up your internet crusade against the starting QB of your supposed favorite team, Harbaugh will surely bench him and you'll be vindicated! Or better yet, Warde will learn the error of his ways and replace Harbaugh with you. That's definitely how this works!

This is what I want to hear , none of the Peters is better than Shea BS, blah blah. I wish Peters the best, he lost his job to Shea period. The coaches saw something in Shea they didnt in Peters, Dont blame the kid for going to another school to showcase his talents, wish him well and move on.

Let’s not forget that Shea is JH’s hand picked upper class QB

Shea has gotten exponentially worse since coming here and playing for Harbaugh.

Harbaugh is legit garbage at player development, talent evaluation, and motivation. It’s proven time and time again.  But the Harbaugh Fluffer Army just downvotes, screams troll, and pretends they are superior.  Meanwhile, the losses pile up and trophy case sits empty.

Peters should be the starting QB at Michigan now.  Harbaugh quit on him for some reason...2 years ago.

Very unfair and Jim Harbaugh is fully responsible for the shitty QB play of the past 2 seasons.
