I feel like this has be positive news on the Underwood front. It seemed like it was between Michigan, LSU and Colorado coming on strong.

Still pretty worried about LSU since their QB puts up more video game type stats compared to JJ even if JJ is better.

I think Prime would kick his grandma down a flight of stairs to get Prime to where "Prime" wants to go. I dont think his kid is anything that will stop him from moving up if the offer comes. Prime is all about Prime and not much else. I also think he needs to strike while the iron is hot because the shine can come off really fast.

I don't know why this keeps getting repeated. I can't think of a better situation for him. Florida State seems to be doing well, so it's not like they'll need a new head coach. If he pulls in a monster recruiting class and continues to pull in good transfers, I don't see how he would have a better chance of winning elsewhere.

With the way conference consolidation has worked out, all the big schools have made it much harder for themselves to win in exchange for TV money. . .except Colorado. By moving back to the Big 12 just as Texas and Oklahoma leave, Colorado will have a solid path to 10+ win seasons and playoff appearances. What more could another college team offer?

Maybe Deion wants to ascend to the NFL, but I don't buy it. NFL owners care way too much about winning. The only teams that would take a risk on him are ones that are actively tanking. In many ways, Deion is comparable to Urban Meyer. The things that make them successful college coaches don't apply to the NFL.

Yeah, but if he pulls in more talent than any other Big 12 team then he can win on recruiting acumen, not coaching. Deion is what Brady Hoke wanted to be—a sort of figurehead, personality coach who leaves all the Xs and Os to the assistants.

I'm not saying he'll definitely be successful at Colorado, I'm just saying Colorado provides the easiest path to success.

Colorado already exceeded expectations by winning more than the O/U 3.5 wins and Colorado was one of the worst teams in the country. Deion wouldn't make them contenders overnight which is hard to do in college football, but he has them in the right direction. He led Jackson St to two one-loss seasons. Say what you want about having more talent than other teams, but part of the coaching job is managing the talent level which he appeared to have pat down. I've seen coaches with a ton of talent and couldn't coach out of a paper bag.

Meh ... no coach had ever completely turned over a roster like this before, so no one, Vegas included, had any idea what to expect.  They definitely have more talent than a typical team predicted to finish in the basement.

You can certainly say that CU has gotten its money's worth, but if you're a high-level P5 school (or NFL franchise) would you want him?

His game management seems iffy from what I've seen and his team has the dubious distinction of leading the country in penalties.  There's a decent shot he ends up another Jimbo (if that).

While the jury is out on him as a coach. I think his teams will be successful.

I think his OC/DC hires have been good, arguably very good.

Also, CU is not a hard place to recruit people to. It may not be the most diverse place in the US or have the nightlife for players looking for a club scene, but it is gorgeous, the climate is amazing, and the celebrities who normally would be on the sidelines of a USC game are flying to Denver now to get in on the action.

Also, the Big 12 may not have as much $$$$ as the B1G, but it can't be much worse than the Pac  12.

I wonder how long the Prime effect lasts: once Travis Hunter and Sheduer leave, honestly how’s he gonna compete at an elite level? The facilities aren’t elite, and unless he’s rolling out more 5 stars they can’t remain relevant. Plus the more losses Sanders takes, the more the shine starts to fade (ask Harbaugh). Then we’d really see how good of a coach, recruiter, and developer Prime is. I was hoping he’d be good and stay, but his “I’m brining my luggage and my son starts” comments, rumors he withheld transfer kids tapes after he kicks them out, the undisciplined and foolish behavior (trash talking Oregon the way they did, overt self promotion like during Stanford halftime Shedur was posting ads on his IG), Prime’s chickens are coming home it seems.

I am holding my opinion of what I think will happen in colorado until i see this season play out and what their 2024 class eventually looks like. Too many variables to predict what is going to happen there. The hype train could fall apart, but the hype train could just as easily make this team a top10 and contender in 2024.

Of course Deion will leave if given a huge opportunity ... I think he wants to make a statement in CFB first, but a huge nfl payday.... He already plainly said he's not going to pass an opportunity to move up because "in this industry if you're not moving up you're moving out"

That's a particularly negative take. I can't say I am confident that Underwood will come here, but if he was just looking for a payday then he would have signed with A&M months ago and he would already be getting paid.

Underwood is close enough to the program to see that our players are getting great NIL opportunities. We may not have NFL players handing out wads of cash on national television, but it's clear that our stars are raking it in. For Bryce, he'll have the greatest NIL potential of any of our players given that he's such a high profile local talent.

I think it's 60/40 LSU at this point.  What's concerning is that (although he's visited quite a few times) he still hasn't been to Ann Arbor for a game and he's been to Baton Rouge on his own dime?  Or does pay-for-visit relevant here?  Whatever, maybe the kid likes the way Kelly grinds.  Regardless, this season's too special to care too much about a teenager's decision you can't control.

Seems like it’s always been an LSU battle when you boil it all down.

Does he want to play for Purple face and get the fistful of cash upfront that he won’t get from Michigan? Hopefully Harbaugh can convince him that throwing only ~20-25x/game is okay.
