OT: Clemson just signed their QB for the ‘21 class, a 3* who is #670 in the composite
Is their offense doomed? Is Dabo a terrible recruiter? How can they expect to compete for another national title now?
I imagine their boards are panicking and pounding on the floor right now.
Needs to sign his brother D-Von and continue to put OSU through tables.
I’d hug you now if I could.
I'm low-risk, bring on those precious antibodies.
He's a baseball player who was committed to Georgia.
”Before Clemson, Chandler's other football offers included Troy, Mercer, Western Kentucky, Elon, Gardner-Webb, and Charlotte.”
Clemson Maizen's gonna lose his fucking mind.
Their version is called "Clemzen" hater of 3*, more knowledgeable than Dabo.
How do you lose something you never had?
what a pussy.
Sounds like they want to take a 2 QB class and he will be the more developmental prospect. Low enough ranked to not frighten away the elite QB's in the class.
This dude is never gonna see the field. They signed the #1 QB last year. Even if he did, all he has to be is a game manager. Sit behind a wall of 4-5 Star OL, hand the ball off to their 5 Star RB, and throw the ball to their 5 Star WR’s.
What an incredibly stupid argument OP. They have a class full of 5-4 Stars and can afford a 3 Star here and there.
Dude was a UGA baseball (pitcher) commit, don’t write him off yet
If you count another 670 players down the list, you will nearly get the same exact ranking of our 2020 QB haul.
C’mon man. Villari was a last minute flier because JD Johnson had to medically retire. I don’t think this is a big deal for Clemson to freak out about but you’re comparing apples to oranges
Apples to oranges is comparing Clemson that has a recent National Championship get a lower ranked recruit and trying to compare that Michigan get lower rated recruits. Just saying
Seriously, our QB commit finds out he has a life-altering / career ending heart issue and you make a snide comment about kid the coaches found at the 11th hour to fill his spot.
The Michigan (fan) difference...never miss an opportunity to shit on the program.
It’s the vocal minority as with most things.
A football player named Bubba playing in the South? Doesn't that just about guarantee Heisman consideration?
"Bubba" in the South = "Junior" in the North
(Just sharing, bc as a born-and-bred Michigander I had no idea of that little tidbit until moving down here)
Bubba means brother, just like Sissy means sister. It's what toddlers call their brothers and sisters because they can't say the words properly and it often sticks as a nickname.
I have 18, 16, and 14 year old boys. The oldest called the middle boy “baby bubba” for a long time. The other two still call him as bubba quite often.
Hey, can you go fetch me some water from the WELL ACTUALLY?
I’m sure they aren’t panicking given that they’re consistently in the National Championship hunt.
If Michigan was, no one would complain about recruiting.
Would you like to bet $1 Billion on that?
When you produce the NFL talent Clemson does you can take a flier on a lower rated guy and get the benefit of the doubt. 8 guys in the top 100 on 247 for 2021, I think most people on this board would be thrilled to have half of that right now and I don't think many Clemson fans are bitching about the state of recruiting there currently.
Michigan basketball just signed the top class in the B10 and this board had a shit fit because 2 highly ranked recruits went the professional route instead of joining the aforementioned top class in the B10. You are underestimating what Michigan fans will bitch about
The professional = A$U? Just as I thought!
I would not, but I know someone who would, in $5 increments.
yep, clemson has shown they can sign and develop highly regarded national prospects as well as less heralded guys, and mold into winning teams. theyve won a ton of big games. clemson knows who they are and how they want to play and swinney earned a decade of goodwill with his record to date. im sure harbaugh is building to that point but hes got a ways to go.
most fans dont care if its the consensus #1 LB or the skinny kid you scouted during senior yr as long as they develop and you win games. winning is the answer
im sure harbaugh is building to that point...
[x] doubt
To be determined on where he will end up or if he will be their only QB recruit. But to be fair they signed DJ Uigalelei last year who is the #1 pro style QB and then another top notch QB in Taisun Phommachanh the year before that. I think they can take a year off.
Now I know you're just making stuff up. No way those names are real.
Also, I just realized your avi is a squirrel striking the pose. Just for that you're getting an upvote.
Lol yep. I thought the picture was too perfect not to use it.
Bubba is actually a two sport athlete who will also play baseball at Clemson

Dabo and Clemson win championships with their 3*s.
Michigan wins the Paul Bunyan Trophy.
Give it a break.
I'll take winning the Paul Bunyan over losing the Paul Bunyan
Those sure are some high standards.
It is A standard. Not the highest one. After the last 13 years I'm never taking that trophy for granted again.
#670 is still better than most of our defensive commits
Cool! Now do the rest of their recruiting class.
(It's 3rd overall on just 12 commits)
This might be kind of Clemson's plan. They got Trevor Lawrence in 2018, and then they took 4-star Taisun Phommachanh in 2019. They took D.J. Uiagalelei in 2020, now Bubba Chandler in 2021.
Yup - you nailed it. Clemson always does that, mixes top recruits with high-upside developmental types.
Of course, they pay for the top recruits, LOL... but if you are going to cheat, you better win big and become untouchable (don't cheat and be Ole Miss). Clemson is officially too big to fail.
Michigan can activate its TBTF armor too. First we have to win. The armor only works after a program wins the NC and then there's a 5-10 year grace period.
Wait, is the plan to ensure inclusion in the next East-West College Bowl?
