OT: AFC Divisional Playoffs: Kansas City @ Buffalo

Joined in progress at the half, the Bills just scored with 26 ticks remaining before halftime to grab a 17-13 lead.

Let the victory celebration continue in the NFC Lions thread!  We now finally have a separate thread for dropping our opinions on the Bills vs Chiefs as they battle for a spot in the AFC finals.

I wish it was sarcasm.

But if you knew anything about the Bills, it's that they completely switched up their offensive scheme about 8 weeks ago because Josh Allen was letting his passing woes get into his head. Once they shortened the game for him, they went on a nice winning streak.

Gonna need to take more than 2 deep shots a game to win a playoff football game these days.

So yes. I'm am being serious.

Poor damn Buffalo.  Is there a more cursed team in the NFL?

At least the Lions had the courtesy to just be bad for years, and not dangle false hope in front of their fans repeatedly.

He went for the end zone when he had a guy coming open instead of going to Diggs underneath and got bumped right as he threw it.

Mahomes is #1 clearly, but acting like Allen has been Manning to his Brady is ridiculous. Manning didn't have anything close to either the Allen performance against KC in 2021 or this year before he broke through in 2006.

There's a difference between being bad in the playoffs and having a bad playoff record.

Jackson's actually been bad in the playoffs. The game against Houston is easily the best he's played in a playoff game and it was against a team that was just happy to be there.

Allen has had bad games in the playoffs (honestly, he wasn't good in either game last year), but he's also been extremely good and gotten unlucky. What more can you do than what he did in 2021 against KC? He gave his team the lead with 13 seconds left and then never saw the ball again. I would argue that's up there with the single greatest QB performances in a loss in NFL history.

Yesterday wasn't quite at that level, but he played well enough to have his team at 27-27, except his kicker missed a kick. But the dude made play after play and even the throw everyone is trashing him on (missing Diggs open on 3rd and 9) was because he saw a guy coming open in the end zone and got bumped by his OL right as he threw it.

Bills threw the game away, literally. That last series was coaching malpractice. Taking multiple shots at the ends zone with 2 minutes left, instead of going for the 1st down and a closer fg.

Yeah, I just don't get it.  Buffalo would not have wanted to score that fast anyway.  Too much time left.

Work your way down the field, get first downs, eat clock, and then be in a position to take shots in the end zone.  If you don't get a TD, you have a chip shot field goal in windy conditions for the tie, and very little time left for a KC drive.

Coaching malpractice indeed.

The field goal miss was a symptom, it was not the disease.
