OSU Rents OU Basketball Arena For A Pep Rally
What the hell OU??

Next up for the horde? A sold-out pep rally at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, also known as the place where the Sooners play their home basketball games.
Ohio State has rented out the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday for a pre-game pep rally, which is sold out https://t.co/1Mt8ZYqzpz — Jake Trotter (@Jake_Trotter) September 12, 2016
That's right. The Ohio State Alumni Association rented the home team's arena for a sold-out pep rally before kickoff Saturday night.

If they kick their ass then it won't matter. Nothing wrong with getting a little more money out of them before they send them home.

That is actually pretty damn cool.

He: Would you sleep with me for one million dollars?
She: One million dollars? Really? Of course I would.
He: Would you sleep with me for ten dollars?
She: Ten dollars? What kind of woman do you think I am?
He: We've already established what kind of woman you are. Now we're just negotiating price.
Not everything should be for sale, no matter how good the price.

coolers for each OSU attendee or do they have to share?

I don't understand how this looks bad for Oklahoma. Playing a football against them doesn't mean you have to be petty and difficult to deal with. It's a pep rally that won't affect the game, and they're just being hospitable hosts.

This is like inviting a burglar in and letting them take what they want.

opposing fans and "accomodating" them. I would just welcome them, not let them move in.

Let them have it in a nearby barn since that's how they all behave down there. Like animals.
I'm sure it would bring them back warm memories.

You are a depraved individual and the belief that CHOOSING a football team of a better university than Ohio State makes you a superior being is incredibly delusional. Sad, sad stuff.

Rivals or not, they're human beings... Yeesh.

Yeah, but Ohio State's basketball arena is still named Value City Furniture Arena. There's no changing that.
September 12th, 2016 at 2:14 PM ^
I agree with your sentiment, but it's Value City Arena. No furniture. That's a different company.

I sit corrected. I did a quick search that showed a different owner. Didn't see the shared parent company. Good lookin' out.
EDIT: That being said, it is still Value City Arena, not Value City Furniture Arena.

Maybe the companies are related... like the people on their kiss-cam.

Admit it, if this was us we'd be crowing all over the place about how big a damn deal we are.
So good for OSU. I blame Oklahoma for giving it up so easily. Tell OSU to go find a VFW Hall somewhere.

I agree the optics are weird, because it's the basketball arena, but we do the same thing and rent out parts of the golf course to opposing teams alumni tailgate.

Fantastic idea!

um.....ok. Cool. I guess.

(An OSU alum, whom I've know since middle school and that lived a street away growing up and whose father played football for OSU. When her father learned I was accepted to UofM... He banned me from their house-seriously- I had to scamper out the back when he came home)
OSU rents OU basketball area for prep rally... good for you. Didn't think you guys were bright enough to pull something like that off. Good luck, want you undereated when we come to town.
September 12th, 2016 at 2:47 PM ^
hopefully you didn't actually say undereated...
September 12th, 2016 at 2:50 PM ^
no thankfully it said undefeated.... (I smoked... day off)
PS: Damn you for locking that in, was just correcting that when I got "access denied!"
September 12th, 2016 at 3:26 PM ^
you're welcome. I figured you'd appreciate it.

Over/Under on upper deckers?
September 12th, 2016 at 2:56 PM ^
They're sending their band. That means they rented out the arena to hold their "Skull Session" pep rally before the game, which they usually do at St. John Arena next to the 'Shoe.
I went with the MMB (opposing team bands always go, well at least used to, because the MMB stopped going), and honestly, it's the closest thing to fascism I've ever experienced. When Tressel and the team came in, after the OSUMB did their thing in their military-inspected uniforms... I was pretty sure we were going to be killed.
September 12th, 2016 at 3:43 PM ^
I don't think you know what fascism is.
