Great game, lots of threes and assists, absurdly low numbe of turnovers. Both these teams are going to be a handful when we get around to playing them.

So with a bunch of ranked teams losing and OSU not playing again until after the next polls come out, they're likely going to be ranked #4 with Michigan right in front at #3

I get OSU has a lot of good road wins, but they've also lost to Northwestern and got swept by Purdue. Idk what to make of them

UM now with 3 game lead over Iowa, Wisky & Bucknuts

Illinois is only 2 games back, but they are the lowest ranked of the 4.

So UM is actually increasing their lead in the standings, without setting foot on the court.

That's not technically true. We have at least two fewer losses than every big ten team, but 3 teams have as many or more wins in conference than we do. Based on real win-loss record, we're only 1 game ahead of Illinois and OSU

Each result, win or loss, only accounts for 0.5 games. So we're 8-1, which is 1 game ahead of Illinois at 8-3. OSU is 9-4 which is one more win than us, but three more losses. So the lead is still one game.

As it's approximately the midpoint of a 20-game season (depending upon how many games each team is able to reschedule), I already had started a few weeks ago to look first at the loss column any time I check the standings.

In this weird sports season I've discounted the loss column a bit as being the best guage, but yet I really love where we are now, 2 up on the Illuni and 3 or 4 losses up on all the other nationally-ranked contenders.

Count it like baseball. Each win and loss accounts for half a game. Michigan is 8-1 versus illinois at 8-3. Wins are the same. we are 2 up in the loss column, but you need to multiply that by 0.5 which gives us a 1 game lead.

Osu is 9-4 which puts them 0.5 games up in the win column, but 1.5 down in the loss column, giving us a 1 game lead.

The idea is that a lot by Michigan and win by either of those teams makes us even, which is one full game.

Make sense?

i've been saying for weeks:  beware the buckeyes.  they have talent, a very good coach, and significant momentum.

OSU was going to be a handful regardless.  We’ve had a habit of losing to shitty OSU basketball teams the last several years.

Iowa is still going to be a handful.  But I don’t fear them as much as I did a couple weeks ago.  They’ll still be tough to beat. And I fear our guys will be called for fouls just for breathing too hard on Garza.

I worry about that too. I noticed late in the first half Iowa had been called for 1 foul and osu 9. On one particular play, Garza elbowed one of the osu players in the face, as he was going up to shoot, and they called a foul on the osu player. On another play, Garza had a blatant push in the back to grab a rebound - no foul.

We are going to be a handful when they play us!

After watching BIG games over the past couple of weeks, there is obviously a ton of talent.  But nobody moves the ball and plays D like Michigan this year!

Bring em on! Go Blue!!!

hahahaha You are exactly why so many fucking people laugh at our fan base. You are calling a coach out who has beat our ass every time he has played us ( pretty big stage) and has lost 2 games as head coach...two. gtfoh with losing on the big stage...at least they are on the fucking stage. we are outside pulling lint out of our pockets buying a ticket from the scalpers

Forgive me if I’m not that intimidated by a Fran McCaffery team heading into March!  He’s who he’s been for years!  He tried to lose to Msu the other night!  Although the game was never in jeopardy.  He tried his best to help Timmy, get a win.

Watched the entire second half, nobody guarded the 3 point line. Wide open looks for all. Iowa tried to play man to man for a couple possessions when they were behind, boy did that backfire. Then Fran was substituting five defense guys for five offense guys on the last couple possessions. osu is a solid team, no stars. This long layoff is killing me. Go Blue ???.
