Definitely not good enough to bail out a terrible offense.

Disappointing effort from scheme to execution most of the day. From Barrett running free, to DL not keeping him in the pocket, to terrible ball skills, no change up to play coverage, and inability to keep the score close vs a freshman QB.

But damn- not on 3rd and long EVERY TIME! News flash Don Brown zones help you tackle after the catch and can help the pass rush when the QB is reading it. It is so easy to call plays against us.

the dropped picked when up 14-0 led to OSU's first score.  Missed golden opportunity with that, but if we had mediocre qb play today, we would have won.

It’s horrifying how often they fold in big situations and/or after offensive adjustments are made. They didn’t lose the game for the team, but they had chances to win it for them and didn’t do that either.

Best game of Rashan Gary’s career. I’d like to see an open competition at safety next year. Not sure anyone will beat out Metellus at SS but he is a liability at times. Anyone see Solomon play at all today? It seemed to be all Mone and Marshall

Defense flat out quit on OSUs last TD. Watched half our defense jog and watch Dobbins run the last 20 yards. That and being burnt on the same route over and over. Mainly just disappointed in the 4th quarter D.

The kids played their asses off. Brown let them down. No adjustments. Didn’t break tendency at all. Didn’t help the kids at all. He is overrated.

Defense is a bit overhyped. Played two good offenses the whole year and gave up 42 and 31. Maybe it's just shit luck, but it is true that they have failed in key situations in close games at the end repeatedly since Lewis' pick against WI last year. Iowa, FSU, OSU 3x, WI, OSU etc. At some point if this were really a great defense they would be making more plays. Brutal day for Metellus. Pretty sure that McCray can be replaced and Hurst can't. But regardless of that, they need to find some safeties who can cover. And just make a fucking play on 3rd and long in a big game for once for fucks sake. I mean they are good, but definitely not great.

Are overreacting if they’re saying Brown is overrated. We held OSU to 24 until the last minute of the game. He can’t win the game with JOK overthrowing, fumbling, taking sacks, and finally throwing the ball gently into the hands of a defender. The defense did NOT lose this game!

Gary looked like a monster.

Metellus is a liability. The secondary as a whole was disappointing. Zordich needs to coach them up better because we don’t have an elite person in the secondary except for maybe Lavert Hill.

The Dline played well considering OSU Oline has been solid all year. Getting 3-4 sacks was great.

LBs were average. McCray got a sack or TFL at some point in the game, but as always he is too slow to cover anyone.

Overall, the Defense played well enough to win. JOK is the ONLY reason we lost

They gave up 17 points to a redshirt freshman QB who came in cold in the third quarter in a rivalry game at Home. This is one of the worst fails in Michigan football history. The defense collapsed. No doubt about that.

You're shortchanging David Long who is a really good player for a RS freshman.

Also, Metellus' weakness in coverage- does that reflect Zordich's coaching? Or is it a recruiting issue? Our options at that position are the #1245 overall recruit (Metellus), a walk-on (Glasgow) and a true freshman(Woods)? Of the people to throw under hte bus, Zordich should be pretty far down the list. Pass coverage is the single thing that has most exceeded expectations on this team.

They were fine. They weren't dominant, or great, or good. They were fine. They gave up 31 and 17 to a backup QB. Michigan needs to look at what they are doing on 3rd and long. Teams are scheming against tight man and beating them a lot. It makes sense to mix in some zone and to see if Michigan can get some safeties invovled in passing plays. As it stands, it seems to be dependent on one on one, which I don't mind on first and second down, but I don't love it on 3rd adn 14. You know they need a lot of yards, give your guys some help with linebackers droppoing or adding in another corner.

backup QB enters the game. 3rd and 16 - the CB just wasn't good enough to make the play. DB does a good job, but we need more talent in the secondary. Guys who will play in the nfl rather than Watson or Metellus to make big plays when the game needs a big play. Close doesn't cut it. Maybe next year with a little more depth and some length/speed to make plays. Guys looked tired and the subs didn't make any plays.

A top notch D would convert on that int or cause some fumbles. I love Coach Brown but with the better teams (w better O lines) we can't get to the qb fast enough and someone breaks wide open. I like our aggressiveness but creating confusion by mixing coverages seems like it would be better.

Starting to worry that Don Brown’s D is the Rich Rod’s offense of defenses. Great against crap teams, but not quite up to snuff against the good ones. The continual late game collapses are worrisome. At some point, a great defense goes out and just wins a game on their own.

Defense was 8-0 vs bad teams.  Defense let MSU get a 14-3 hgalftime lead before the rain came and it was too late to come back.  Defense had PSU dominate them all game.  Defense got worn down vs Wisky.  Defense got worn down vs Ohio State.

You are who you beat, and we didn't beat a single good football team this season.

Haskins going to win 3 more games against Don Brown ?

Soph., Jr., and Sr seasons?

I am starting to wonder if Don Brown is all hype too, failing in the big games ?!

Is back in 1997 we were up 21-14 late in the third. I thought the D was going to dominate with the 2nd string QB of OSU and shutout the Buckeyes, just like ‘97. Then there would be no pressure on JOK, just run out the clock.
