Logged in to upvote.. the Michigan wins this game 8/9 out of 10 times take is annoying. Got totally outcoached in a big game (again!) and it's not like they played a perfect game.

Just saw Tulane finish a comeback and looked way more composed than we did.

Agreed.. of the 4 you name,…

Agreed.. of the 4 you name, I think only Stauskas was the right decision. The other three could have continued to develop at the college level and raised their stock. Actually happily surprised that Iggy is in the league but I'd think he'd need to really increase his 3 pt % to stay much longer. Same for Mo although it was nice to see him hopefully carve a niche with the Magic as well.

DJ seemed to have the skillset for the modern NBA but so far it hasn't panned out. Fingers crossed

Hardaway and Poole are…

Hardaway and Poole are similar in how they are both streaky. Timmy can go through stretches when he can't miss. Poole seems to be more consistent and is in a better system

Agree about Caris. Just came back from injury again, with a new team. Hopefully with a full offseason can make a run at an all star invite

one of my favs during that time was Loy Vaught. As a high schooler, snuck into IM building an played a pickup game with him and his friends. Really nice guy and excellent career with the Clippers. Great rebounder and solid mid range jumper.

That's awesome that Martelli's son is there, I wouldn't be surprised to see him flourish at VCU.. I had high hopes for Zeb too

you might be right about Twill. While I hated that missed late 3, he had the stones to take that shot and made nice strides this year. Hoping for big things next season

Definitely seems like a great kid. I saw a post on Twitter by Phil Martelli's daughter that showed a picture with Brandon and her son, saying how great he's always been with her kids. Class act, just felt like if he could get a couple shots to fall he'd gain some confidence bc the skill set was there. Good luck to the young man!

Very good player and seems like a great kid. I remember defending him when he started as a freshman, always had a good sense of how the game should be played and stuck with the program after Z took over.

Was hoping for a little more offense from Eli this final year, but overall a very solid career. Congrats and thank you Eli!! Go Blue!

Love dickinson but NBA teams would attack him endlessly. Hoping he stays another year to get stronger and hopefully more nimble. Not hating though, nothing wrong with being a great college player.

Have been following him in box scores as would be cool to see a fellow Korean make the league. Needs to do some pushups though and doesn't look ready to follow that other Davidson guard just yet.

Maybe just an off game but was hoping for more as I saw he trained in Australia as part of NBA development program

I'm glad to see Moe contributing and enjoying himself. Orlando is a young team and good to see some fight here. That's the Moe we know and love and disappointed to see some here chastising him.

He's too skilled offensively and if he can shoot the 3 like we know he can he should find his niche in the league. Go Blue and Go Magic!

Yep..  somehow when the other team hits an open 3 it gets filed under crazy or lucky categories.

I like him and he seems like…

I like him and he seems like a great kid. But against decent college big men he looks slow and I don't know who he could guard at the next level.

And he's not a threat from outside yet. I hope he doesn't leave early.. nothing wrong with being a very good 4 year college player.

Not too worried about…

Not too worried about Houstan either. Obviously he's an elite shooter and I'd rather have him playing now and getting up to speed in the preseason than putting him on the bench.

May take some lumps now but unless all the scouts were wrong he'll be a factor in big 10 play

Agree with most of your…

Agree with most of your thoughts and great to see Eli playing so well. If anything I'd like him to hunt his shot a little more as he sometimes tends to defer - being a good teammate. He's got the shooting to have D Walton like senior season imho.

Jones is so disappointing. I'm hoping he can pick it up as the coaches obviously see something that we do not. Still making dumb fouls, cheating like a Don Brown cb leading to wide open shots and loose with the ball. His floater does seem solid though.

I think I'm higher on Johns than most. Has the talent and had a nice burst in the 2nd half there - hoping the coaches can get more consistency out of him.

Lastly, so psyched to see Diabate - nice to have an athlete like that again. Go Blue! big test on Sunday

he always takes a shuffle step when catching the ball - on the verge of getting a travel or pushing off with his off hand each time.

Just used to gambling and…

Just used to gambling and padding his steals totals at the lower level. Hopefully the coaches can fix this or he needs to sit.

Nice to see Johns breaking…

Nice to see Johns breaking out here... too much talent to not be a factor. Also agree, it's not UNLV getting lucky. They're athletic, getting wide open shots and making them.

Although I think he may be a…

Although I think he may be a top 20 pick, I definitely think he should stay. He needs to improve his outside shot, leadership, and consistency. His release point on his 3 seems low and I don't think he can go left. People underestimate what a year as the main man and a possible championship run can do for his development long term.

It's not about the 1st contract, its about getting a second one and I don't think he's ready to compete against the best wings in the world yet. He can of course improve next year if he goes, but it's not like NBA teams actually have a lot of practice time during the season. Also, it can be tough to keep your confidence up when you're trying to guard the Harden's of the world - and some of the passive play in big games was concerning.

just tired of our guys leaving too early and not having their careers pan out burke, mcgary, wagner 1, morris, iggy, wilson - (although he had 25 tonight)

No doubt he should have…

No doubt he should have stayed and continued to develop.. I know he was a first round pick (as was DJ) but both have struggled quite a bit after leaving just when their talent was starting to blossom.

People underestimate what another year of college can do, I would guess he's mostly regressed after barely getting time in LA, DC and Boston.. not to mention his confidence has got to be shot.

Hoping Franz strongly considers another year bc while he has a lot of potential - he still has no left hand, his outside shot is spotty and he disappeared on offense in some critical games. Going up against NBA wings is no joke and he'd be better served getting stronger and developing as a leader imho.

Would be so cool to take his…

Would be so cool to take his class.. whatever he's teaching

I agree, still way too early…

I agree, still way too early to give up on Wiseman. He's shown some good flashes and has a lot of potential obviously.

The Warriors will give him the coaching and put him in the position to succeed. Putting up numbers in Charlotte is one thing, trying to fit in with Dray and Curry while taking everyone's best shot is another.

Ball is good but people may forget Tyreke Evans was named ROY over Curry - here in Northern California it seemed to be a tossup on who was better. crazy to think about now...

He's got a great stroke…

He's got a great stroke which we saw in the big ten tournament. Good size as well..

Thanks Brian for this…

Thanks Brian for this awesome post and glad you got your first shot. This game was so frustrating and kept me up til 3am posting the same drivel ten different ways on the message board.

Thanks to these fine players and coaches who gave it their all during this most trying season. As disappointed as we are it doesn't compare with what they are feeling.

Thanks to you, Ace, and the gang as well for keeping us fans informed and entertained. Go Blue!

When we get in let's post up…

When we get in let's post up Hunter and throw it to him for 5 possessions straight mode, our guys stand around and aren't even looking to take wide open shots.

I know we want to run the play, but if the d is sagging too much we need to take advantage

Totally agree.. not thrilled…

Totally agree.. not thrilled with the result but do admire Hunter's moxie and willingness to take the shot in the big game. And yes I noticed Eli passing up shots he didn't last few games.

Man this one stings because we really were out of character last night.

I don't know this to be true…

I don't know this to be true. At end of games the offensive player will get the call especially if they're hacked.

Plus Ucla wouldn't want to give up a 3 point play so I don't see them playing aggressive D. Which is why I think Smith could have gone to the hole

We dont have that guy but…

We dont have that guy but there's no rule that the last shot of the game has to be a clear out, one on one go get a bucket a la Jordan. We could run pick n roll, set double screens to free up Chaundee or Eli, etc. Basically run the offense that made us successful to begin with.
