Odds makers increase Harbaugh's chances to Lions
His odds are now +200 (tied with Saleh), previously +1100. Not sure what new information they have or if this is just based on the way people are betting.

Oh, please, please happen. Please finally make me happy Lions!!!
In more ways than one!
December 14th, 2020 at 9:17 PM ^
You must be a Bears fan
December 14th, 2020 at 9:36 PM ^
Nope, long suffering Lions' Fan, I'm used to that.
Suffering as an M Fan is getting really tiresome and needs to end, IDGAF how Harbaugh leaves, as long as he does.
Even if he goes somewhere else and does great, he ain't getting it done here so a change is needed.
December 15th, 2020 at 11:04 AM ^
I think Harbaugh could bring to Detroit what Lions fans have been waiting for, for almost 30 years.
A second playoff win.
December 14th, 2020 at 11:50 PM ^
Only an idiot coach would work for this ownership group. It’s not going to happen.
December 14th, 2020 at 7:04 PM ^
Not gonna happen.
December 14th, 2020 at 7:27 PM ^
Why not ? He has a ton of young kids in school and it's a half hour drive.
I'd put the Lions as highest odds, then maybe the Bears, then the Chargers.

Watch a presser through the eyes of someone who writes a $10M check to a head coach
December 15th, 2020 at 3:45 AM ^
His pressers have been so depressing, exhibiting signs of major depression. I hope for his own sake and health that he is able to move on and have success whether at Michigan or elsewhere, and that's not how his career and legacy end.
December 15th, 2020 at 6:04 AM ^
Couldn’t agree more. I watch them but it’s painful. I can’t imagine how his wife and kids must feel. I guess it goes with the territory but it’s got to be tough.
December 15th, 2020 at 8:18 AM ^
Watch his recent pressers and watch his introductory press conference and early tenure press conferences. The differences are pretty astounding.
Whether it’s simply frustration and burnout or something more serious health wise, the changes in Jim’s demeanor are really evident the past couple years.
December 15th, 2020 at 8:47 AM ^
Getting bitch slapped by your rival over and over again will do that to you.
December 15th, 2020 at 10:19 AM ^
I’ve said it before: he looks for all the world to me like a man suffering from CTE. I think for the good of the program as well as himself and his family he should undergo the full battery of tests.
edit: How many hits to the head do you think he took during his playing career? How many concussions do you suppose he had?
December 14th, 2020 at 7:07 PM ^
That's a pretty big shift.....dang! If I had a preference, I would give Saleh a chance and would hope he keeps Bevell as the OC.
December 14th, 2020 at 8:24 PM ^
No way Saleh takes the job, the kid is from Dearborn. He knows what a Detroit Lions HC job does to football careers.
December 14th, 2020 at 7:10 PM ^
Now how can that be? Because Tom VanHaaren is reporting Harbaugh is telling recruits he expects to sign an extension.
/s
December 14th, 2020 at 7:11 PM ^
I would still not bet this, and I wouldn't want it as a Lions fan anyway.
December 14th, 2020 at 8:31 PM ^
That's the worst part of the dilemma, a much as I'd like to see change, please not at the Lions expense.
December 14th, 2020 at 8:33 PM ^
Why it’s not like he can do worse. Lions lost me along time ago. At least Michigan has some hope for the future
December 14th, 2020 at 9:15 PM ^
Boiling it down to its elemental. The NFL has an exponentially more level and fair playing field than the NCAA and by association than the Big10. There is no argument on this.
December 14th, 2020 at 7:15 PM ^
Gamblers apparently don't watch Harbaugh's pressers
December 14th, 2020 at 10:18 PM ^
Do they? I’m a Bears fan so we are not far off with NFL teams just sucking but I do know one thing, it’s much easier to turn an NFL team around in my opinion vs getting Michigan Football turned around. You don’t have to recruit against anyone. You lose because of ownership GM. Take the bears for example, how in the world do you draft the qb they have over Watson or maholmes? More importantly how does Ryan pace still have a job? That is an easy fix you hire the right people. You can fix problems with money and drafting of your own choice whereas at Michigan you have to sell recruits on coming to the cold, getting whooped by Ohio every year, recruiting against your rival who is leaps and bounds ahead of you, recruiting against the south, not paying recruits when your competitors do, and so on. Detroit just like any other NFL team can go from worst to first within a year with the right moves. This is a much bigger task in college. If a coach like JH can’t turn Michigan around who can?
December 15th, 2020 at 4:15 AM ^
The big problem with Michigan is the Michigan Men Cult. These are guys that had their time, but are still trying to keep control over the program and stay in the limelight. What Michigan needs to do is turn them into outside observers, keep them away from the internal workings of the program, and hire the best people that will turn around the program, free of any interference. Whoever is hired should be hired on the merits that they are the best person for the job, not whether the Michigan Men Cult approves them as one of their own.
When Harbaugh took the job, first thing I thought was bad move for his career, because of the Michigan Men. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the cause of him burning out. Too many chefs in the kitchen.
December 15th, 2020 at 10:24 AM ^
Seriously, man, WTF do you expect him to say in a press conference right now? You guys better be real careful what you wish for.

Here's what's going on based on absolutely no inside intel:
Harbaugh is going to finish the year and then leave. Warde has either Campbell or Fickell lined up to be the coach next season but they have told Warde they won't speak again about it until their season is over (same weekend as the Harbaugh talk Manuel mentioned a while back).
Players are transferring because they know Harbaugh won't be back but aren't being told who is coming in. The uncertainty is causing them to leave.
Yup, that's how it's going to play out.

I read this while imagining you are having this as part of your pep talk in your mirror.
December 14th, 2020 at 8:22 PM ^
Man, you’ve only got one arm. You don’t know shit. I hear they called up Lloyd and he’s coming back to fix things
December 14th, 2020 at 8:32 PM ^
Sykes has one arm, I'm Dr Richard Kimble.

Damn, I gotta get me one of those Ouija Boards (or is it a Crystal Ball?) like you have.
December 14th, 2020 at 8:29 PM ^
Not sure if your comment is serious or tongue in cheek, but neither Campbell nor Fickell are coming to Michigan.
Edit: Based on no inside intel whatsoever.....

How would you know?
December 14th, 2020 at 9:16 PM ^
And you know this how?
December 14th, 2020 at 7:22 PM ^
This likely has more to do with people throwing money at Harbaugh on name recognition and a geographical proximity.
December 14th, 2020 at 7:22 PM ^
+200 is better than 1100 but there is no way in hell a competent coach ever goes to the Lions.
December 14th, 2020 at 7:26 PM ^
Head coaches of the Lions have an uncanny ability to get fired and never be a HC again...in many cases never coach period.

That really puts Jim Caldwell into perspective as a 9-7 coach. Holy shit, I'd take that all day long. Quinn is a goddam schmuck.

Harbaugh is not one of those anymore
December 14th, 2020 at 9:27 PM ^
“...there is no way in hell a competent coach ever goes to the Lions.”
Well, it would appear that Mr. Harbaugh’s experience over the past few years has him well positioned for that opportunity.

Yes again.... he gone again and again! Because it was at these odds yesterday!!! Please continue to post, post, and repost. Then throw the pass, cross court to Dickinson for the slam dunk!!!
