North Carolina v Kansas

A couple of basketball blue bloods will go at it for the national championship on Monday.  Kansas seems to be favored by 4, by I like UNC based on the fearsome looking pair of Bacot and Manek.   Between them they are 100' feet tall, with another 50' of head hair and beard.  On the other side, too bad former Michigan commit Jalen Wilson slipped away and is now starring for Kansas.

If Kansas wins you know they are gonna have strippers on a pole in the locker room with Snoop Dogg and $100 bills floating around the room.

Was really pulling for Nova. They seem to be the only modern “Blue Blood” that hasn’t been implicated in shady or outright blatant violations

this story softened me a bunch about coach K:  https://purpose2play.com/fast-breaks/meet-duke-fan-syndrome-coach-ks-buddy/

37 years with a special fan who had down syndrome.   there has to be a heart in there, somewhere, to do that.

as for the game, UNC is the least detestable of the 2, and i kind of like their coach.  billy self should be in federal prison, but instead he is lionized by a flat state.

Funniest thing about Zion is me being born and raised in Kentucky and you always hear the stories about how not getting him was the death of UK basketball and that Duke cheated to get him from them. I’m like, “so they paid more than y’all were willing to”?

It’s always the same lame ass response of “we don’t cheat at UK”.

So Duke lands 6 five stars and it’s cheating(which probably is) and y’all land 5 of them and it’s because Cal is clean(I’m, nope)? Ok, got it!

No. Our dirty underwear was cleaner than their dirty underwear.

Football analogy here, but Don James had his Washington team run aground of some NCAA violations in the 90's, and it led directly to his resignation. One of his comments in his resignation press conference: "You show me a coach who plays by the rules, and I'll show you a team who finishes 3-8." The same applies to hoops, on a larger level, due to the smaller roster sizes and larger TV money involved.

Neither of these programs are particularly likeable. Kansas was at the center of the Adidas scandal, and UNC literally fabricated transcripts to keep players eligible.

I'm rooting for the meteor.

Both teams are playing great, Bacot and Manek have been good and Love has been wild, UNC started hitting 3s after not being great from deep all year (it seems anyways?) wish we could have found that magic! Hopefully an entertaining game

Born and raised Wolverine, completed my undergrad at UofM. Current Jayhawk, working on my masters. I hated Kansas as a basketball school… it seemed like they always got great talent and went deep into March. Now I’m rooting for them.

I would've loved to have seen them beaten by Michigan in the Elite Eight though! But alas, here we are. So for now it’s Rock Chalk, Jayhawk…. Whatever the F that means😂

Unless I missed something all Kansas did was pay players (an objectively good thing) while UNC had fake classes. Go Kansas because they did nothing wrong

Perfect final for 2022:  Choose Your Cheater

UNC:  15 years of not making athletes attend class, an institutional conspiracy.  How they avoided the death penalty is a tribute to NCAA corruption

UK:  Five separate Level One violations and a history of paying recruits.

Remember when Jalen Wilson committed there, just after the violations were made public, and Wilson's message was "Coach told me not to worry about it" and we thought HE was the naive one.

The ONLY nice thing I can say about this game is that both jerseys are nice, clean, classic looks that have stayed pretty stable over time. I appreciate that.

Everything else about this game sucks.

In New Orleans for a week, but purposely decided to avoid the games in person. After going to the final fours in 2008, 2013, and 2018 I've come to the conclusion that watching basketball games on a football field is not worth the money.

go heels.
