NFL Wild Card Round Thread

Wild Card round started with a bang yesterday with the Jaguars epic comeback. Got 3 games on tap today. The Bills are up 14 on the Dolphins. Giants @ Vikings play at 4:30 and Ravens @ Bengals is the nightcap.

As a Chargers fan, I’m still absolutely stunned by last night. Can’t believe that we lost to a quarterback who used to be the lead singer for Silverchair.

Niners fan here: I’m not particularly worried about any of the remaining NFC teams; however, for rivalry sake, I’d love to host the Cowboys in a few weeks for the NFC Championship. Rooting for the Vikings today and Boys Monday because 1) I’m not worried about Kirk, and 2) I think Dallas can defeat Philly. Also, if Dallas wins, they’re more likely to keep their coach and not go after Payton (which would not be good for UM fans)…

Not gonna lie, I was very happy to NOT play the Lions. Admittedly I don’t know a ton about them, but it’s never good to play the hot team. Plus, their offense is designed to give our defense fits. I hope they can build off the second half of this year and make some strides next year! That division is gonna be wide open in 2023!

That game last night was crazy! Trevor Lawrence going the full Brett Favre in the first half, and the full Joe Montana in the second half.

As far as today, Buf/Mia is turning into a great game. I've never been a fan of young coaches with minimal experience (Kingsbury, Staley), but I'm on board with this Mike McDaniel guy in Miami. He seems to be able to coach a little! He's young, but he's not necessarily inexperienced. He's been in the NFL for most of the last 20 years.

This Buffalo/Miami game has been tremendous so far...31-34 currently.

Dolphins have impressed even with their 3rd string QB (who has actually done really well)

Watching this game makes me realize I know less about football everyday.  Is Buff D overrated?  Is MIA D underrated?  Did Buff think they were just going to cash it in and go home with a win?

Miami 4th and inches

40 second play clock running down.

Gets under 5s, then they reset it to 25s.

It runs all the way down and results in delay of game.

4th and almost 6, incomplete, Miami never gets the ball back.

How the absolute hell does that happen?!

I don't watch many NFL games, but watched the Bengals Ravens game last night.  At the end of the game I realized John manages his time outs just like Jim does.  Down by a touchdown with 2 minutes left and just lets the clock run.  I don't believe he started using his TOs until there was well under a minute left in the game.  I was shocked (I really wasn't).

I love Jim, but one of my biggest gripes is how he handles time in close games.

I'm not a fan of the Giants by any means but I have an irrational distaste for Kirk Cousins so any team that has a chance to beat him has my rooting interest for the moment.

Giants fan here; pleasantly surprised at their good start to this game, but rational enough not to get my hopes up.

Hope they win, but also hope Josh Metellus makes a play or two.

I had Daniel Jones and Cork Cousins at my fantasy football QB’s.  I would sit one, based on the “latest news” and he had a great game while the other sucked.  Should have done the Castanza on those choices.
