NFL Refs Fuck the Lions Again

Fuck off, NFL.  I wish I could say that this is unreal but it’s par for the course for the Lions at this point. What a joke.

I have a friend who says this every time. "Should've scored more points so it didn't come down to that."  If I hear this again, I'm going to come unglued.

The officials job in every sport is to give both teams a fair shot at scoring more points than the opposition, while giving both teams a fair shot at holding the opposition to fewer points.  But, when they fail, "should've scored more points" is BS.

Hey USA men's basketball vs Russia, when the Olympic committee member single handedly decided to give Russia three chances at one last play..."oh well, the US should've scored another bucket earlier in the game so it didn't come down to that".  This can be said about every single game in the history of sports.  The Lions put themselves in a position to win, but because of minimum 3 calls in the 4th quarter, they were screwed out of that win.

The Packers had plenty of chances to put us away too but they didn’t make plays.  Oh wait they were bailed out with phantom calls.  The NFL is a razor thin league.  Overcome one bad call, I get that mindset and it’s probably a healthy way to attack the game but when the refs continually just throw phantom flags against you in huge moments it’s no longer about the few plays you didn’t make.  There isn’t a reasonable person on earth that can lay that loss on the Lions.

Yep.  When I’m 80 years old I’ll always be able to look back and remember his was the game that made me never watch another NFL game, talk show, highlight, ad etc.

Heretofore personally boycotting the NFL. The WWE is more of a real sport with a less rigged outcomes. Unnecessary roughness was total bullshit, he was going for the ball. Two inconceivable hands to the face calls. No call on PI.

No hands to the face, except the fucking o lineman who was mauling 90's facemask like golden fucker Aaron Rogers mauling his coaches. Fuck the fucking refs.

It’s embarrassing how bad the NFL just screwed over the Lions. 3 really bad calls. The 2 Illegal hands just cant happen. It’s a joke. Sometimes it’s hard to call PI’s, but throwing flags when you’re not 100% sure what you’re seeing!?!? Patricia should call out the refs. He’s got the money to pay the fine. You need to stick up for your team.

The Ford's have never held that money over the league's head to ensure fairness.  They just roll over and take it, like good little boys.  That is Ford the Senior's legacy.

Jerry Jones does whatever he wants.  Dan Snyder gets away with anything he feels like doing.  The Irsay's pack up and move in the middle of the night, and the NFL lauds them for it.

Unfortunately, today, moreso than any other time in advertising history, the Ford's money isn't needed by the NFL.  It's a billion dollar entity, and someone will be happy to replace that money.  Goodell would call the bluff knowing full well they'd never follow through.

The Lions played good enough to win that game, but the NFL and the WWE refs made sure that did not happen!!  FUCK THE NFL!!

I agree 100%. The Lions got fucked tonight by the refs. Ridiculous. Officiating is so fucking bad from high school, college, and the pros. People wearing the stripes that never played

The Lions may have lost regardless of the call, but come on. Letting them play the game in that situation is better than fixing the outcome. Don't throw the flag unless its in the effects the play... and make sure it's actually a penalty!

Wasn’t just the 1. The one before was HUGE. 8 min left and Lions got off the field on 3rd down. Made up hands to face Gives a stud QB another set of downs, made them pay with a great deep ball pass. Yes the 2nd one iced the game, but likely still would’ve been down 1 with 1-1:25 left. The first one gave Packers life and within 2. That one to me is the worst one. Regardless one screw job wasn’t enough, they got it again to ice it.

Those weren't the only calls either. GB's "TD" was down on the 1 yard line, Det's last drive ended on a PI that 100% should have been called. The 15 yarder for unnecessary roughness when the guy's only going for the ball. I'm probably missing one or two.

I'm not coming up with a single call that went against GB that was remotely controversial.

Lions will just sit back and take it. Wish Flowers would go off after the game on the refs. Or gasp, maybe someone in ownership and / or management.

It keeps happening, Lions are like ok, and nothing comes of it.

The league can’t let Brady be the unanimous goat after he made them look like the fucking punk bitches they are. They need Rodgers to take some of the hype no matter how overrated he is.

How is that a pussy move?  It was a smart play - let them score to get the ball back with more than a minute left.  The RB figured it out too soon and hit the ground.  Good on him, but it's unfortunate the LB didn't think to hit him and carry him into the end zone.

Next time a similar situation occurs, you will see the defenders help the back into the EZ.  Nothing in this league gets missed twice, so leave it to the Lions to see it first...

Lots of players have done that before (going down before an imminent TD to win the game). One that comes to mind is MJD in Jax busted open a long run and went down at the 2. Fantasy football fans went crazy.

Ultimately, if letting the RB score is a "smart move" then the RB not scoring to preserve the win is also a "smart move".

They're either both pussies or both smart.
