New light posts at Michigan Stadium are awesome
Farley's reaction is like mine when I showed my fiancee. Her reaction was much like McCartney's.
Hello, Halberstram. How’s Cecelia?
Hello Lampost, whatcha’ knowing?
I come to watch your flowers growing.
She's breaking my heart. Shaking my confidence daily.
Allen has me mistaken for this dickhead, Marcus Halberstramm. It seems logical because Marcus works at P&P and does in fact the exact same thing I do. He also has a penchant for Valentino suits and Oliver Peoples glasses. Marcus and I even go to the same barber, although I have a slightly better haircut.
Thank goodness I didn’t go to work today. Otherwise WD would have been taking pics of my ugly car
Some people just aren't happy unless they have something to whine about...
Says the whiny 1VaBlue1
also, it was a joke. I guess I should have added the /s for the whiners XD
Around the stadium is okay. Keep them out of the rest of Ann Arbor, though. The dumb water tower with clouds is silly enough. Keep it classy Ann Arbor
I really like it vs. a generic white / black / silver / other color for an upside down johnson.
Would you prefer a bland white tower with streaks of dirt and rust?
I always thought that they should replace the hand signal for crosswalks with an outline of the state of Michigan.
10 min of complete failure trying to post this pic. I give
This water tower?
I like it.

They’re stupid. The winged helmet is iconic, but that doesn’t mean it works on functional objects that were never designed to be covered in a graphic pattern that was conceived for a helmet.
Looks like you successfully scared them off your lawn, great job.
Actually, no. It's been months since I've listened or called.
I see what you're saying, but I think the functional objects in this case look at least a little bit like helmets. It's not like they put the design on a plastic grocery bag.
I’m all for maize and blue everywhere, but to me there is something that looks off with this.
kinda reminds me of the solar car more than football. I think it’s the shape of the lamps.
just alternating them with matte maize and blue paint jobs might have been really sharp.
Everything goes with WINGS!
I dunno man. I guess I’d have to see them in person. At first glance they seem kind of cheesy, reminds me of the halo a little.
Just wait until the birds get the opportunity to further stylize them.
I'll try to navigate this carefully, since so many of you love them. I think they are fun. Fun is good. But fun is rarely classy (or is only classy with great difficulty). Also, despite the derivation, they're not nearly as attractive as the helmet itself.
Of course, these are better than - say - what I've seen lining I-94 (not setting the bar very high, of course). Personally, I'd prefer Ann Arbor (even around the stadium) to go all-in on one pattern city-wide, perhaps resembling those expensive-looking opaquely white, globe lamps lining the walkways of central campus.
Typing this did make me acutely sensitive of how snooty it all sounds, and snooty isn't something I knew to expect of myself. But there it is. Distinguished > fun.
How much did you pay for a horse that tall? Are you protecting Don's lawn?
1. This is around a football stadium, so it doesn't need to be classy.
2. Those "expensive-looking opaquely white, globe lamps lining the walkways of central campus" just aren't bright enough or project enough light to meet the need here. Sure, they look nice, but practicality is a concern.
3. Snooty and distinguished. The hallmarks of any good, stereotypical Michigan fan who must also necessarily add in the fact that s/he is an alumna/us.
You REALLY need to make some friends
My opinion. It’s neither awesome or ugly. It’s cute and clever. People take these things too seriously and feel they have to have important opinions on them. Why not just look and say, “huh, that’s clever.” And then be on with your day.
They look a bit tacky to me, but to each their own.
what's with the quality of these pics? it looks like you scanned some glossies from the early 90's
It seems to me that given the fact that the department projects a huge loss of revenue this year, this should have been postponed.
That said not bad!
That’s really cool. It’s all in the details.
