The blocking just looks sloppy. For all the preplay motion and shit, it does nothing to confuse the defense. They just run right through the Swiss cheese line.

Nice TD. MTSU not as much of a pushover as we thought (or hoped), but concerning game overall. Gattis just needs to go back to the drawing board and study some seasoned playcallers. Read somewhere he said he doesn't script plays. Don't most coaches script the first 10-15, or the first few drives at least? Feels like we need a better gameplan going into games. Defense similarly concerning with DTs and lack of sideline to sideline speed, but we knew that going in. Sadly think this is a 9-3 year, not the 11-1 Brian predicted.

I agree 110%. The defense seems very average, but maybe that's because I used to a incredibly fast, aggressive defense.

Ppl don't realize that MTSU has a pulse. Their QB has moxie, he made some incredible escape plays today and kept his eyes downfield. They never should've taken him out. Their defense is tough, well coached by Schafer.
Sloppy game by Michigan but this is the first freaking game. Not going to freak out.

I hate how they say Michigan did not open up their playbook, they are saving it for the B1G season but we seem never to make improvements. I was thinking this was going to be a 54-10 type game with Michigan up 45-7 at halftime. My expectations have been lowered for this season but I guess that could be a good thing if some how this team exceed my expectations.

Outside of the turnovers, I think it was a pretty solid game for the first game of the season. They got a double digit win against a scrappy and solid Bowl caliber non-power 5 FBS team. On to Army which should be a really tough game.
