There’s a difference between going into a game with a “defeatist” attitude and knowing that what you’re about to do is pure suicide.

We have absolutely zero chance of even looking competitive in this game. If you truly think otherwise you’re either entirely delusional or lying through your teeth cause you don’t want to admit reality.

Our offense is okay but not great, and still can’t put up enough points to keep up with elite opponents and our defense might as well put up cardboard cutouts along the front line.

Either one of the biggest miracles in the history of Michigan football takes place or we’re going to get absolutely wrecked by a stampeding herd of massive, crushing Tuscaloosa elephants. Oh, and in case this wasn’t enough, Harbaugh has a TERRIBLE track record so far here at getting his teams ready to play in a bowl games...1-3 folks...1-3. So not only are we more than likely to come out completely uninspired and uninterested in being there, but we’re also facing the greatest football dynasty to ever exist in the history of the game.

This is quite simply a horrible horrible matchup that the powers put together simply for all the money and tv ratings that will be generated. We will be totally outclassed just so some guys at the top can get rich. Whatever happened to bowl matchups against teams that were more or less at the same level??

I totally agree and understand the sentiment on the board.  However, at least this game gives us a chance to do something.  The other options were: we beat an average team in a bowl we don’t care about, or we lose to an average team in a bowl we don’t care about.  We either do something special and get a huge win, or we lose again (which is becoming much less of a surprise).

I'm disappointed as Michigan hasn't been to California in 13 years. The AD also recently cancelled the game with UCLA.  I was hoping to watch M in person.  Alabama is a great team and it will be a tough game.  I'm simply tired of Florida bowls and was hoping for something different.

Also - I've been to a lot of bowls and the only one that can compare to the experience of the Big House is the Rose Bowl.  It's ridiculous how long we haven't been there.  It's levels better than other bowls, even Orange, Fiesta, Cotton, etc.

Could be ugly.  Even if Bama’s top NFL prospects sit, their second string of 4 and 5* sophomores and juniors will be competing for starting jobs for next year, as well as Saban being motivated to shut up the whispers of his dynasty being finished.
