Year 6 and:
- We’re in our 2nd complete tire-fire season
- we can’t throw the ball down the field and haven’t been able to do so during Harbaugh’s entire tenure against teams worth a shit
- Harbaugh isn’t a QB whisperer of shit - not one QB Harbaugh has coached at Michigan has scored a TD in the NFL
- we don’t use tempo
- clock management is a joke - F’d up again there today
- we have no idea what to do offensively if we can’t shove it down the throat of the other team, but hey we will continue to try for 4 quarters because Bo and Manball!
- Zero clue about what to do against teams that can pass block and throw the ball
- Program arrogance continues to be omnipresent
- lost 3 out of 4 at home to MSU
- 1-9 in the last two games of the season
Honestly, what the fuck else do you need to see? I know Brian and Seth will run interference come Monday but there’s no logical explanation for this regime to continue any longer.
October 31st, 2020 at 4:04 PM ^
I agree with all of this. I fell off the Harbaugh bandwagon a couple years ago. Our overall coaching stinks. We need, and have to move on.
October 31st, 2020 at 7:16 PM ^
ok ill bite, who's on your shortlist then? Where's this "upgrade" going to come from
October 31st, 2020 at 9:07 PM ^
Well for fuck's sakes, Mel Tucker is 1-0 against Harbaugh at the Big House, so there are probably more people than you think.
Seriously, we really need to stop this blathering bullshit that Harbaugh is the BEST coach we could ever, ever get and we should be happy when he lays a turd at home like this AND he cannot win on the road against teams with a fucking pulse, oh wait, we did beat #20 ranked Northwestern a few years ago, so we have that going for us which is nice!
October 31st, 2020 at 9:14 PM ^
I see this comment is in negative point territory and I don't get it. Who the hell are we going to get? What coach has the talent to come in here and change the recruiting talent disparity vs OSU? There isn't one. It sucks but to be honest it'll take a miracle to catch luck on our side on the day we play OSU to beat them.
Back to the question though, who the hell wants to come here? Extremely demanding fan base, sky-high expectations, (assuming JH is canned) would have fired a legacy program coach who's been to a superbowl... Sorry to say it but the truth is we're not getting anyone better than Harbaugh.
It has been far from perfect since he got here but if you think we can snap our fingers and get a coach who changes our program overnight to a conference champion you're just not being real with yourself.
October 31st, 2020 at 10:18 PM ^
Damn man, forget chasing OSU. We just got our asses handed to us by a shitty Mel Tucker MSU team!! How about we find a coach who can take care of the rest of the conference first before we worry about OSU?
November 1st, 2020 at 1:43 PM ^
Yep, gotta walk before you can run. Right now, we/re still crawling with our weirdo coach who's hasn't done shit for the $8 million / year. Blah, blah, blah....we have to beat OSU !!!!! Hell, try beating a supposedly overmatched MSU first
October 31st, 2020 at 11:39 PM ^
Recruiting at Michigan has never and will never be a problem, it gets better when you win big games, at least some here and there. You beat O$U and you'll start taking recruits from them.
October 31st, 2020 at 11:57 PM ^
What don't you get????? Are you too young to remember when we used to compete for and win Big Ten Championships? Have you just given up? This "who are we gonna get?" garbage is so tiresome. I don't know, and it's not my job to know. I would probably seek out a promising young head coach. But this idea that there is no one else on Earth who can do better than this at Michigan is total BS. Will it be hard to find someone better? Yes. Could they flame out with a bad hire? Yes. No one knew who the hell Bo Schembechler was when he was hired. They should do their due diligence. Hire a search firm. Interview a lot of people. And find the best person. All I know is I'm done with this program if they're satisfied with this. Completely done.
November 1st, 2020 at 8:48 AM ^
Bo was a slightly above average conference coach in a bad conference who got embarrassed every time on the national stage. I seriously wish every people would move on. He has been toxic for this program.
November 1st, 2020 at 10:57 AM ^
Bo, toxic? Okayyyy.
November 1st, 2020 at 11:12 AM ^
Yes - the deification of him by this AD and its fans has been toxic for the program. Most would agree with me.
November 1st, 2020 at 12:19 AM ^
You are the problem with the fanbase. You are talking about OSU when Michigan just lost to the worst team in the Big10. Keep being happy with garbage. You clearly haven't competed for anything in your entire life.
November 1st, 2020 at 7:04 AM ^
We lost to them. That makes Michigan the worst team in the big ten.
November 1st, 2020 at 7:45 AM ^
You could have worked for William Clay Ford when he ran the Lions. Just keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. We all know what that defines.
November 1st, 2020 at 9:35 AM ^
I’d start by talking to either coordinator from Bama, Clemson, Georgia
November 1st, 2020 at 10:52 AM ^
Real with myself? Look...anyone hear of Ryan Day before he showed up at Ohio State? I see people want Joe Burrow. Nobody knew of him before his one season at LSU. Or noted Eastern Carolina OC Lincoln Riley before he immediately become HC in waiting at Oklahoma? There are a number of guys we don't think of who have the capabilities (again, Ryan Day anyone?) to run a great program. And our "demanding" fan base is a fiction. You think we are any more demanding that the fan bases of any aspiring Top 10 program?
October 31st, 2020 at 4:10 PM ^
I’m seriously hoping they lose every game left on the schedule, and all the talented recruits decommit. I’d like to find better things to do on fall Saturdays in the coming years, rather than watch more of these embarrassments.
October 31st, 2020 at 6:31 PM ^
No. You don't. Because sparry will get upper hand in the state.
October 31st, 2020 at 7:30 PM ^
Jump off the bridge if you want, no need to hope everyone goes with you
October 31st, 2020 at 9:06 PM ^
The frustration is felt by everyone. Of course I'm still hopeful until my hopes are dashed again. Looks like Juwan will put a great group of kids on the hardwood again this year. So there's that.
October 31st, 2020 at 4:47 PM ^
This is crazy. How does Gattis’ play calling change so drastically from last week? This has vintage Harbaugh conservatism written all over it. Every big game is like this except now from shotgun.
The bubble screens, QB runs, RPOs... everything was missing from last week.
Outside of Cornelius Johnson, we have 0 downfield threats. Bell and All can’t catch for shit. The little fast guys can only do so much when the play calls create 0 space.
This is so frustrating. Pulling Milton out for that stupid wildcat crap reeked of the 2-pt Borges shit that tipped the opposing defense off of what was supposed to come prior to the timeout. Then to DO IT AGAIN AFTER THE TIMEOUT!?!?!
WE HAVE A CAM NEWTON SIZED QB YOU MORONS. USE HIM!!!!
October 31st, 2020 at 4:58 PM ^
Barrett was a QB.....this was literally the most disappointing game I have seen coached in the history of being a fan.
We got out coached, out toughed, and we just looked lost.
October 31st, 2020 at 5:12 PM ^
Replacing your DE sized QB that's a running threat at the goal line for a smaller RB to run wildcat is one of the dumbest CFB things I've seen in a long time.
And I watched Minnesota Maryland the other night.
October 31st, 2020 at 7:17 PM ^
Worst coached game I can remember. Both sides of the ball made few adjustments as the game went on. The playcalling on offense was terrible.
October 31st, 2020 at 5:14 PM ^
No one can convince me Harbaugh didn’t force the running game on Josh. Makes no sense why they kept running up the middle like that. It’s not 1970 anymore, someone tell Harbaugh please
October 31st, 2020 at 5:47 PM ^
Running into an eight man box hell bent on stopping the run screams play action.
Where was the seam pass to the TE?
October 31st, 2020 at 8:34 PM ^
All probably dropped it.
October 31st, 2020 at 7:32 PM ^
This is a good comment. What the hell was Gattis doing? I didn’t get any of it
October 31st, 2020 at 8:16 PM ^
It seems like whenever this team faces and adversity, the play calling all of the sudden goes right back to like 2017 Pep Hamilton shit
October 31st, 2020 at 6:51 PM ^
I have been a pretty big Harbaugh defender over the years but this loss was Michigan's most inexcusable since The Horror. We are, at best, stuck in neutral and falling further behind OSU every day. The program needs new blood.
As the old saying goes, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
October 31st, 2020 at 8:04 PM ^
More like five gears in reverse.
October 31st, 2020 at 8:15 PM ^
We haven't been able to throw the ball down the field since 2016 Wilton Speight
October 31st, 2020 at 8:38 PM ^
The JH Michigan tenure is wrought with stench.Something is very wrong.Out-coached, out - played, out -worked, out-recruited, out - toughed, and out- smarted. Burn it to the ground and start over.
October 31st, 2020 at 3:46 PM ^
This is the end
October 31st, 2020 at 3:55 PM ^
You may be right. It was like Michigan was one of those two-trailer trucks with sixteen wheels, and you got to see one wheel after another just come off and roll into the ditch. And Jimmy with that same pained look on his face as always. Only--squint though you might--you just can't come up with a reason to justify it anymore. Other team played harder, and that's a problem.
October 31st, 2020 at 3:55 PM ^
Rinse, repeat.
October 31st, 2020 at 3:47 PM ^
I loved not having a season. Saturdays were great.
October 31st, 2020 at 3:54 PM ^
I hear that. But in the midst of a pandemic, suffering an indefensible defeat and seeing mgoblog server errors felt like being wrapped in a cozy blanket and teleported back to pre-covid times.
October 31st, 2020 at 4:02 PM ^
Exactly. I was happy when the Big Ten shutdown. Why were the players protesting? We were all better off not having a season.
October 31st, 2020 at 4:12 PM ^
I stepped away from THIS in my front yard,to watch THAT.
I love fall in Michigan so much for so many reasons, and Michigan football is not one of the reasons anymore.
October 31st, 2020 at 4:39 PM ^
Yep. I think this was officially my last game. At least until changes are made. I can't keep going through the same emotions after every game.
October 31st, 2020 at 6:13 PM ^
I knew this was where you lived...come out and say hello. I’m in the van with Eagle on the hood.
October 31st, 2020 at 7:52 PM ^
For once I was sure we would not lose to the Buckeyes.
October 31st, 2020 at 3:48 PM ^
Is that Don Brown's official resignation game?
October 31st, 2020 at 4:06 PM ^
Ha! Ever see a coach too stubborn and proud to realize they are the problem? Happens all the time. Harbaugh is too traditional to do anything during the season. OSU will try for 70 this year and Michigan won’t be able to do a damn thing about it.
October 31st, 2020 at 5:09 PM ^
And IU scares me. That style of offense will put up 35+ easy on any defense without a strong front.
October 31st, 2020 at 3:49 PM ^
Awful. Like fireable offense awful. I have no clue what the gameplan was on either side of the ball. It looks like they just expected to waltz in, run their base offense and defense, and cruise to a victory. This program isn't getting any better with this staff. It's just 3rd in our division every year and the Gator Bowl
October 31st, 2020 at 3:54 PM ^
Absolutely no excuses for this performance. I would say you lose a lot of the fan base with a loss like this (the ones that were still in favor of this coaching staff).
If this was the NFL, he should be fired by Monday.
October 31st, 2020 at 3:55 PM ^
There is no chance in hell they win enough games to go to a bowl game this season.
