Michigan Opens the Season as Underdogs

2.5 pt dogs on the road to open the season. I'm not nearly that worried for whatever reason. I don't see Minnesota repeating last years success, and feel like Michigan is going to surprise it's fan base.

Now let's go win that Little Brown Jug!

Prior to 2020, Harbaugh on the road against a quality team means a loss. It's a new year and a new team and I think we win this one!

Pretty much anything at -3 or under says Vegas thinks the game is a coin flip. At this point that's a fair assessment. Minnesota lost a lot from last year's defense and Michigan should be able to run the ball fairly well, but its still breaking in a new QB, and Minnesota is going to put 8-9 guys in the box until Milton proves he can hit his receivers.

Michigan should be able to generate some pressure with its DL, but if Morgan has time to operate against our secondary, we could be in a bit of trouble. So each team has pros and cons, and with no fans in the stands playing at home in primetime essentially means nothing for Minnesota. No added emotional boost anyway.

So yeah, no idea how this is going to go. You've got to hope the DL can get to Morgan often enough to offset the situation in the secondary, and you've got to hope Milton took that proverbial next step in the offseason.

Neither Michigan winning nor losing would surprise me.

Fleck would have made a fine coach here, had Jim not come, nor if neither did Mullen...he has put Minnesota on the map.

But the country doesn't know whats coming... this will be Harbaugh's finest hour going forward...the team is primed.

This probably is not a good sign if you have any faith in the sharps.  Michigan could be favored by a few points and your still probably going to get more average Joe small bets going there way.  Vegas is being proactive towards the sharps coming hard late on Minnesota imo.  Be interesting to see if they move the line at all after the early money comes in on Michigan

Minnesota lost it’s top 1,000 yard receiver and running back.  On defense they have to replace 6 starters!  5 out of the top 6 tacklers including their defensive MVP are gone.  I like Michigan’s chances despite the question marks on offense and at 1 DB spot.

I would be ok if we were underdogs every game this year. I think last year with all the B1G favorite talk in the summer, they lost their edge. This year they need to prove something

I'm thinking this line is going to change as people bet Michigan...  I think we have more talent and talent should prevail in a strange season like this?  So much is on Milton...  Gotta be tough to bear that much pressure.  Our o-line should be decent, even having to replace everyone.  WR is loaded...  RB is loaded.  D-Line should be good.  If Milton can be decent, I think we surprise a lot of doubters.

Even before the Covid schedule this is one of the games I thought we would lose! Then  of course osu and one random game! Hence my user name 9-3! With the change  in circumstance no crowd etc I'm 50/50....I think its mostly up to Milton balling out!

I think people are giving minnesota way too much credit for their insanely easy schedule last year..

They will not score at will and won't put up tons of points, our dline and linebackers will put major pressure on their qb.

Wisconsin did that when they played last year and minnesota folded like a cheap suit.

They return 4 starters on defense and I expect us to run all over them.  Should help milton as well.

Minnesota, under fleck has never started any season playing well at all either.  They have nearly lost several times to bad opponents

It would be a mistake for Michigan to try to [play it safe] with pounding the ball. This won't win the games Gattis came to win. Minnesota will load the box and dare the young QB to throw and throw he must. We need a balanced approach with a variety of pass, RPOs, power etc. I'm for baptism by fire. Throw first run 2nd.

Not surprised. First week of college football is tough to figure especially with 2 good teams facing each other. Should give the team a little motivation

I think we’ll blow them out. This is free money. Minnesota is on the rise but last year was still a fluke. Penn State should have thumped them a year ago but they made a ton of mistakes and still almost won.  We might lose 2 - 3 games this year, but this won’t be one of them. Bet Michigan on the money line and give yourself a stimulus check. 41-17 good guys. (When I’m this certain, I’m usually wrong but something tells me a ton of money will be bet on Michigan and we’ll be favored by kickoff so get your money down early).

Spread seems right especially considering it very much feels like people are not sure what to expect of either team. Both lost a lot from last year and have many unknowns so call it a coin flip and go from there.

There is really no outcome that would shock me including blowouts on either side or a close game with either side winning.
