Also has offers from Texas, Indiana, Iowa, PSU Tennessee, and Arizona St.

He's originally from Bloomington, IL and played at Illinois St. where he was a FCS All-American selection as a redshirt freshman in 2018 and a all-missouri valley honorable mention in 2019. With the covid year, he should have 2 years left by my count.

Transfers are going to happen at almost every school.

If it bothers you so much...go root for Northwestern or Army.

What we need to do is hire a Courtney Morgan type who only focuses on transfers...because that's what it's coming to. And when this NIL stuff happens, it's only going to get worse. Just like the one time transfer rule.

What's sad is you think people don't already know the shitty state we're in. We. Get. It. And we don't need to be reminded. You're not making any earth-shattering comments by saying "Harbaugh sucks" or get this one... "Year 7 with a shitty coach". Haven't heard that one before. We're in this together, dude.

Fact is most people don't like to dwell on the sad things we already know and don't really care to read about it unless it's something new or has decent context. I highly doubt anyone on here has uttered the phrase "Harbaugh has done an amazing job" since 2018. So maybe chill until you have something of substance to say.

One really bad year that came during the pandemic. Harbaugh is not a shitty coach, but he has underperformed to his own expectations and ours, and for what he is paid.

Calling someone who has coached in a BSC bowl, a Super Bowl, and three straight NFC championships a shitty coach is simply minimizing the good and hyperbolizing the bad.

Stop pretending that your assessment myopically based on decency bias, and though you are welcome to feel how you feel about the future based on it, that doesn’t make it a fact. Thus, this hammering of your childishly reductive view of Harbaugh leads to your mockery. It is as if you want them to fail so you get stuck on the worst possible outcome and just want that to happen. I feel bad for those around you having to listen to that kind of pessimistic blathering on a daily basis.

Trying to figure out why you got negged so much!  It's so dang true, but message board fans are the experts!

We went several classes with a total of 2 true DT's taken... Can't understand that no defense works if you can't stop the run with your interior DT's!  Can't pressure the qb with all american DE's if your DT's can't hold the poa or push the pocket.  But hey, these fans know everything...  Can't understand that our DE's were getting doubled every single snap and still getting pressure but qb's had pockets to step into and rb's had lanes to run because dt's got hammered one on one and couldn't hold the poa, pushed out of their gaps and could never get off blocks.

The same fans that said Harbaugh was better than Hoke because of he made 49er players get into the 3point stance correctly..  which btw I've seen coaches teach that several different stances..  which at the time all hail harbaugh cause he was the only one to teach it correctly...

Welcome to the schizophrenia that is the mgoblog boards.  You can post the same statement in the same board and in one spot you’ll get negged and in the other you’ll get upvotes.  This blog is a microcosm of society.  That first up or down vote usually sets the stage and the mob mentality jumps on board.  Why is no sociologist or psychologist studying us by now?!  It’s really fascinating.

I don't think that is what's going on at all with the negging of Umbig11.

For years he seemed to enjoy a reputation here as a football "insider". Some on the MGoBoard doubted him all along but not the vast majority, or so it seemed.

Because I don't specifically know nor do I recall the sequence of events on the board that appeared to expose him, I'll treat what I vaguely remember about his "downfall" as an unverified batch of rumors, and therefore refrain from going further down the path of speculation.  All I know is that at some point long ago I found myself a doubter too.

I think what now reaps him all the neg votes is his posting behavior and attitude. He now sorta reminds me of the "vindictive jilted lover" Glenn Close character in Fatal Attraction.

NOT a good look on his part and, IMO, a major cause of the negs.

Given some of the decisions during President Schlissel's tenure, it's a stretch to believe that the university's current leadership prioritizes any type of integrity.

Also, pretending elite football recruits face the same admission standards as regular students is disingenuous.  Strict enforcement on transfer credits doesn't move the needle of the university's academic standing in any meaningful way anyways.  Princeton is not as hard to get transfer credits to be accepted, and their undergrad academic reputation is superior to UM.

Demanding double teams, sounds beautiful.

He was State champion in wrestling as a senior in high school.

This is what his college coach had to say about him:

"You line up over the ball, you see the ball, the ball moves and it's, 'John, knock that guy into next week,'" Spack said Tuesday during ISU's Media Day. "He likes that. John likes a combative situation. The less structure and the more streetfight it becomes, the more he really likes it."

State wrestling champion=leverage and hand technique FTW.  Combine that with a 6'6" 325 lb frame and you've got a solid foundation to work with.

Yes please. Doesn't even have to be a star, just a solid player, a valuable addition from a smaller school. Kinda like an interior line version of Mike Danna.
