Michigan OC theory

Submitted by theguy49503 on

Really starting to think that JH is just going to call all the plays with the input of the Pass Game Coordinator and Run game coordinator. Its just been to quite and it seems if a hire was going to be made it would have been made by now. I am guessing our OC is going to be Mr Jim himself. Not sure if anything or rumors have been posted or anything I may have missed.

Watching on TV doesn't contribute any money to the program.  The entire fan base could quit watching the games on TV and the amount Michigan gets from TV wouldn't change at all.  That's all locked in due to the 6-year deal the Big Ten signed with ESPN and Fox.  The only people not watching on TV hurts is Fox and ESPN.  Delaney and the Big Ten DGAF if you watch or not.

Not getting a new offensive staff is ridiculous?

Did you read the Ron Utah diary about Georgia last season?

Did you think MSU should have fired their offensive staff after the 2016 season?

Do you think Jim Harbaugh is a poor coach?

Do you think he doesn't know the offense sucked?

Do you think he doesn't care?

Do you think he isn't working hard?

Just live in your gloom and doom for the next 8 months.  Sounds like a great place to hang out.    The reality is we have tons of young, talented players motivated by a miserable season being lead by a great head coach in Jim Harbaugh.   It will turn around.

No, see...a peaceful protest is supposed to attempt to make an impact and deliver a message to people causing an injustice. This does neither of those things. It's just self-service to make it look like you care harder than the rest of us on an internet message board. The program will be fine without your $. No one will notice if you aren't at the game. You arent the only one frustrated with the offense and UM isnt the only school thats ever had a bad coordinator. This isnt even the only UM team in the last 10 years with that problem. Its not some grave injustice to you that the Offense didnt mesh this year.

Hopefully with all that money you are saving you can buy an extra tall ladder to get off that high-horse.

since you already took boycotting the program by watching the games but not donating money and I dont want to do the same protest as you i will protest by not using punctuation or capitalization thats my way of hammering home my point and it also peaceful and sends a powerful message ok thank you have a great day

Give me a specific amount of monetary support that you give a year. I will happily cover your share in a direct athletic department donation. Whatever that dollar figure is it'll be well worth it. We need to take the opportunity to purge ourselves of the infantile, mentally weak portion of the fan base whenever given the opportunity. Thank you for outing yourself. It's the best thing you've ever done for this program.

I just checked my bank account again, and I'm not paying Pep's salary so that sounds like the guy's problem that pays it.  If the athletic department is paying all these salaries, and they are still in the black and boosters still pump cash in, then why not just kick back and enjoy the ride?  If you are a booster, or major donor and you are unhappy then don't donate.  Its your money and you should spend it how you choose.  We could do a lot worse than Pep(hello Nussmeier), and the athletic department could waste a lot more money in the grand scheme of things.

I know they are all technically employees of the state, but the football department is self sustaining so if Jim says these guys are worth it, then I will blindly go along with it.  If enough people are unhappy then maybe it won't be.

Everyone has the right to be disappointed after a disappointing season, but as Michigan fans we should all know it could get a lot worse.  Our floor might not be Alabama's floor, or OSU's floor, but still.  We got it good if the floor is 8 wins.  Love the team, or don't.  My 9 year old step kid is a bandwagon fan, so jump on board the Bama train if you want.  There is plenty of room on there still.  We all had a choice at some point to be Michigan fans.  And if you are a real fan then you just kind of roll with.

I hope Harbaugh is never satisfied with a season that doesn't end undefeated and national champions.

There is not going to be any change in the staff or structure of the play calling. Just because some fans don’t like the results does not mean there will be a change. Jim has repeatedly said he believes he has a great staff.

^^^ THIS!!! The Armchair/Monday Morning QB’ing in here — by fans who know next to zero about actual football play calling as compared to anyone on the staff, let along J MF’ing H — is laughable. Just because the results left something to be desired — and they did — doesn’t mean that an overhaul is needed. This complex vs. simple/ Pep and Drevno have to go crap is just that, Grade A USDA Prime CRAP! Sometimes (often) offensive schemes take some time to get clicking. We’ve seen this repeatedly around the nation at program that many in here pine for. Does it not dawn on people that change is NOT always the answer, that sometimes you just have to get through the suck to be great?!

If it doesn't change we're fucked.

People say a lot of bold things on the internet.  Let me indulge.

A 3rd grade flag football coach could've done a better job of calling the plays than whoever was calling our plays this year and at times at the end of last year.  It was that bad.

I can't believe Drevno is still employed.

It was Harbaugh's when it was good, it's Harbaugh's when it was bad. People want to praise or blame a coordinator because they could leave or be fired and that's an easier thing to get up on than to holler at Harbaugh.

I'm kinda baffled people haven't figured out that coaching titles under Harbaugh are meaningless.

It doesn't seem the haters are taking into account Harbaugh hired the guy to a very important coaching position when he had other alternatives.   Face it, we had a below-average O-line, especially when it came to pass pro.  Once Speight was sidelined we had no real experience at QB, and what we had didn't produce.  You do remember O'Korn running for his life (including times he should have just moved up in the pocket) and Brandon Peters missing his share of relatively easy throws, right?  You can't put all that on Pep.  I'm not sure you can put any of it on Pep.  So many folks on this blog seem to think Pep is the problem, or as I like to say, using the familiar acronym, "PITP".  Catchy, huh?  Well, you can all just PITP up a rope.  I've said my piece.  Now let's get the boys to come together and win one for the Pepper!!

Human cloning. You will all be surprised when there are two Jim Harbaugh on the sideline next year. The great thing is that the clone won’t need to be paid or count against the 10 coach limit because it wont have a soul.

I don't care who was behind the repeated abominations of this year, but get it fixed. Personally I think there are too many cooks in the kitchen, and the fact that Drevno and Hamilton made 7 figure salaries last year is completely laughable. Maybe they can justify them this upcoming season, or maybe Harbaugh will finally understand that his "meritocracy" needs to apply to his coaching staff as well.

Hijacking this thread because this definitely isn't worth a new topic.

Would anyone like to join an NCAA 14 online dynasty on PS3?

We only need one person and your school would be Eastern Michigan, the rest of us have various 1* to 3* teams. Unfortunately one of the guys had to drop out of the league, but we are only 8 games through the first season.

League Rules:

8 regular season user games. 2 conferences, 6 teams each. You play your 5 mates and 3 from the other conference. Winner of each conference plays the other in the bowl game.

Obviously the natty isn't the most important thing; individual bragging rights are. 7 minute quarters, heisman sliders (QBA 10) and advancing twice a week. Lots of great players in the league, but everyone plays respectfully and fairly. Let me know, thanks!
