The last 6 quarters, osu has scored 90 on us. Hard to defend Brown.
November 30th, 2019 at 3:21 PM ^
I just don't get it. Don is a great DC against most college teams, but if you have a good QB, suddenly he's awful. He has no answer to good QBs. We would take holding them to 30 today! That's all we need, but nah. OSU just gonna score 50 every year I guess
November 30th, 2019 at 1:47 PM ^
Right now the game is 3 (5 total but 2 are part of the game) breakdowns by this staff.
1 - Awful play calling on 1st & 2nd before 3rd and long Shea fumbles. Why do they run Shea twice? Can’t give downs away.
2 - The punt offsides is dumbest thing ever. Why were we not in punt protect on 4-4!?!?! Like why?!?! Still fuming.
3 - Again awful play calling on goal situation. 2nd down to Jackson was a giveaway. Dude is our fast guy, field is too small to have him take a snap to short side of field. Again wasted down.
Yes, Shea fumble and DPJ drop bad, but comes with football. Above 3 all mental mistakes by staff.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:49 PM ^
Yeah right. We knew Michigan's D line would have trouble against a power run game even before the season started. That's what we saw against Wisconsin and what we see today. If they sell out on the run they will get burned badly.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:14 PM ^
Hire Brent Venables!!! Throw 3 million his way. 35 points in 3 quarters! On pace to give up another 60!
November 30th, 2019 at 1:50 PM ^
Glad Brown’s defense bailed out the offense in most every other game this season.
The line of scrimmage is being dominated by OSU. Not sure how Brown can combat the fact that the players just aren’t up to the task. I love Our players, but they’re just outmatches. It’s a recruiting issue.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:53 PM ^
How did MSU do it? Double A gap blitz? Maybe try that now? MSU has beaten these guys....why can't we?
November 30th, 2019 at 1:50 PM ^
Bullshit. Brown is fine.
The difference between OSU and us is DL recruiting.
We need bagmen.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:51 PM ^
Replace DC with DT. If we had a Mo Hurst, we would be winning right now.... or at least it would be a closer. We do not have the elite dline, especially against an elite 2x OG/C.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:54 PM ^
Worst post ever
November 30th, 2019 at 1:54 PM ^
Isn’t it possible OSU simply has much better players than we have? Asking for a friend.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:55 PM ^
The OSU defense isn't doing that well either. If not for mistakes the game would be tied. That is where your ire should be.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:56 PM ^
It really comes down to them pushing us around. Coaching can't fix that. We've got a functional Oline, great WRs, a QB playing great, decent LBs CBs and edge rushers ... But the interior defensive line is cripplingly bad. Just like the Wisconsin game, the interior DL takes away any change of stopping the opponent unless we get lucky with turnovers.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:57 PM ^
Hopefully you can tell us how Durkin shut OSU down and we need to go back to him. Elite offenses require elite players to stop them. I agree it should be better, but better players on the interior D Line and more depth in the secondary are what we need to shut OSU down, not better schemes.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:58 PM ^
This isn't fair to Brown. Michigan doesn't have the players OSU does. You can criticize him as a recruiter, I suppose. But he's chasing a Ferrari with a Corvette.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:03 PM ^
Osu doesn’t give project players scholarships !
November 30th, 2019 at 2:19 PM ^
And that is largely not Don Brown's doing.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:58 PM ^
Totally agree. Haven't even looked at the comments but I know someone has posted stats showing how great DB is. Someone please take out the games against shitty teams so we can see how good offenses shred us.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:58 PM ^
LB’s are getting abused.
Ryan Glasgow wouldn’t make OSU’s scout team. Hudson might not either. McGrone not getting it done today.
DL obviously undersized and not talented. Hard to believe we hid them most of the year.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:59 PM ^
Ohio State 28, Michigan 13 at half.
This is going pretty much as I expected.
Good spirited play by UM, but a lot of the same bad luck and mental errors against a football team that will make you pay for it dearly.
November 30th, 2019 at 1:59 PM ^
Can't wait for Michigan to start bring elite
November 30th, 2019 at 2:01 PM ^
2 big mistakes are the difference in the game today. DB is not the problem. OSU had a big talent advantage in their OL vs our DL.
November 30th, 2019 at 5:44 PM ^
2 big mistakes kept the game from being closer but there was no way Michiganwas going to win with the way their OL dominated.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:05 PM ^
Hudson chose the worst day to have the worst game of his life
November 30th, 2019 at 2:06 PM ^
People downvote what hurts them. But the fact of the matter is Don Brown again is getting schooled.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:11 PM ^
LSU hung 46 points on alabama, 33 of those in the first half. Elite teams, like ohio state, do score points, even if your defense is good. Only answering with 16 points in return doesn't help things, however.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:39 PM ^
Your****** wrong.
yes grammatical incorrect to make you feel better.
November 30th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Not the strongest ad hominem I've ever heard. Our team lost, and we're both probably mildly intoxicated, but man you sure seem to enjoy personal attacks in your comments. Same team, Farva.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:06 PM ^
Elite programs aren't vastly different from above-average programs like ours, the difference is a matter of inches, really. Elite teams generally play mistake-free, bring in the best recruiting classes, and score a ton of points to offset any potential mistakes that do happen. We make too many mistakes, about half of our bad luck is self inflicted, we leave a lot of points on the field, and recruit well, but elite programs do recruit better than us. Maybe next year in our new system our offense will keep improving. Maybe we'll buck this 5 year trend and start making fewer mistakes. Our recruiting has been great, but other teams have been recruiting a little better. Those differences add up translated across 4 quarters, and 12 games.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:07 PM ^
i'm not sure why you're being negged, at least on the substance of your point. bottom line: having to score 60 points to be in a game is a failure on the defense. We're outmanned, no doubt about that. We're not that outmanned though.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:14 PM ^
And an O and D line that can dominate
November 30th, 2019 at 2:15 PM ^
This post is a long way from bring elite.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:16 PM ^
This is dumb. We can’t stop them up front. Our DTs are undersized and ill-suited for the job, and we’ve known this all year. Everything else that has happened is a direct consequence of having to compensate for our DTs.
Recruiting matters. Stars matter.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:32 PM ^
Is that part of Browns job
November 30th, 2019 at 2:52 PM ^
100% agree. No DC can overcome the lack of DT’s against elite teams like this.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:17 PM ^
I'd coach better
November 30th, 2019 at 2:30 PM ^
Michigan is two recruiting classes from being elite. Need more elite players on the DL and 1-2 more near elite CBs.
And UM needs a psychologist to get them over the mental hump.
November 30th, 2019 at 2:31 PM ^
2 games in a row Day worked Don Brown badly
He needs to go
November 30th, 2019 at 2:42 PM ^
Why kick it????
November 30th, 2019 at 2:45 PM ^
No. They are an interior DL away.
November 30th, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
DC, OC, HC, KFC, BC, MAC, CC, It won't matter, this "rivalry" is over. Think similar to the ND/Navy series. We're Navy now, and even they've had better recent success than Michigan. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
