Michigan 'potentially' avoids whiteout game at psu with announcement of msu v osu on nbc primetime
In 2 games vs. #TUCKCOMIN CJ Stroud was 53-61 for 793 yards, 12 TDs and 1 INT.
$95 million defensive genius.
53-61 for 793 yards, 12 TDs
Someone should make a T-shirt. I don't care if it's OSU.
Eh, it seems Little Brotherish to mock them based on how another team did against them.
And frankly, the thought of wearing a t-shirt that specifically mocks MSU shows them a level of respect they don't deserve.
EXACTLY. I have a neighbor and some other friends that were all "GO DAWGS" two years ago. Same people that bought App State shirts when we lost. Useless human beings.
That’s a lot of completions and yards and TDs. But what was Stroud in 2 games against Michigan tho?
oh yeah, a LOSER. Both times!
However many completions/yards/TDs, it wasn’t enough.
For some reason, Mel gets a lot of negative vibes. With all due respect, I disagree. I think Mel's doing wonderful things in EL - and, has the Spartans going in an ideal direction.
It probably sounds like a broken record - but, give him a raise and an extension. He should be the Spartans head football coach forever. I hope he lives to be 100.
You’ve really gone to the well with this joke, man.
Mel Tucker and John L Smith; now that's a winning combination. Yep, let's keep Mel Tucker for as long as his contract stipulates.
I guess my question is why would any network put MSU on prime time ? UM, PSU, OSU - yes - but MSU ? They're a horse shit program and will get absolutely get rolled by the other 3 teams this year. Just crazy. But, come to think of it, they do have the $95 million buffoon.
This would be good, as I am hoping to go to that game with the kids wearing only Maize.
Way to be contrarian!!
msu osu... insert pic of baby lamb slaughtering here.
MSU entering Ohio Stadium this season...
I'll never forget the Opponent Watch from I think 2015 where UNLV was "this team is as frightening as the cow being lowered into the velociraptor cage."
Oh yeah but it’s tough to go down there and win in the Horseshoe. They almost never lose in their own stadium…
oh wait…
Enjoying snacks during the game in a Spartan household.
First they go green, .... then they go white.
It really does stand out if you wear maize and all the PSU people are wearing white.
very good news. Either we see msu get stomped in primetime or we see osu get hit with the huge upset. I'm cackling with knowing glee.
Who said that 'win-win' scenarios don't exist?
For that game in Columbus on November 11th - I'll be cheering for the meteor to make an evening appearance. By they way, I'll also be cheering for a meteor to make an appearance in South Bend the evening of Saturday September 23rd when the squad from Columbus faces the Irish.
Always appropriate...
Always correct!
It always amazes me that none of the PSU guys are helping their QB.
It's like the final scene in Gladiator when they carry out Maximus and leave Commodus lying in the Coliseum dirt.
As I recall this was actually a late 4th quarter long 3rd down reception so everyone was booking down the field to hurry up for the next play. The OL didn't see that their QB was down, and was staying down, as they were trying to get into position.
I prefer to think that we broke their spirit and they just didn't care anymore.
You’re harshing my buzz
Is that Hulk and Loki?
Exactly! Difference is one was still conscious. They asked Alan if he was intimidated on playing Ron Dayne (250 lbs.) in an upcoming game while at UM and he said "why? I am a 330 lb man". Point taken.
I'll eat ass if Michigan/PSU is a night game. Not gonna happen.
You're the Scranton Strangler, Toby!!
WD approves of this message.
Just saw it announced elsewhere that Iowa/Penn State will be THE white out game. I suppose they can have more than one but for all the reasons listed above it seems unlikely.
Not knowing you, that might not be a big deal. Now, whose is the question.
NBC's #1 Team is Noah Eagle & Todd Blackledge with Kathryn Tappan as Sideline. I have to say I'm not as familiar with Noah Eagle, but his dad is one of the best in the business.
How do you guys think this trio stacks up against:
BIG Noon on Fox: Gus & Klatt with the All-American Girl Jenny Taft
SEC on CBS: Brad Nessler & Danielson with Jenny Dell
ESPN on ABC: Fowler & Herbie with Molly McGrath.
Best PBP: Nessler or Gus (depends on your personal style) Best Color: Klatt, and it's no contest. Best Sideline: I like Jenny Taft the most. Best Production: Probably ESPN
I think NBC's crew is pretty formidable and could very well be one of the top. Just gotta get used to their broadcast style and get over the fact that you aren't watching Notre Dame which is what I always associate NBC for College Football with.
I liked Sean McDonough with Blackledge. Its a shame that duo is breaking up. Noah Eagle has the same cadence as his pops. You can definitely hear the similarities although it is not eerie like Cris Collinsworth and his son Jac.
I don't know about best but worst would be Fowler PBP, and Danielson (or Fumbelson as my dad calls him) on color. Can't go wrong with any of those ladies on the sidelines.
Best production is whoever zooms the camera out and shows the most of what’s happening on the field rather than the QBs sweaty face.
Pretty remarkable. In the last 2 years, NBC has hired 2 college football play-by-play guys and they are both 20-something sons of well-known football commentators.
I'm not as familiar with Noah Eagle
Clippers fan here. Noah has done radio play-by-play for us the past two years. He's frickin' fantastic. Like...unbelievably good, considering he was 23 (!!!!) when he started doing games. You'd never know he is/was a kid.
I knew he was never long for this NBA backwater, but I'm sad he's gone.
He's a rising super-star.
Like Keith Jackson, but younger.
They will probably still do the whiteout game against Michigan but that doesn't matter. Harbaugh has beaten them in two whiteout day games. It is just the night game that needs to be avoided. That place is an absolute hellscape at night.
Not disagreeing with this post! But I would take a 3:30 kick...
Michigan does not get 3:30 kicks anymore. It just does not happen. Hopefully CBS might correct that but I am unfamiliar with their deal.
Nah, half of a 3:30 kick game on November 11 will be a white out night game.
