when people act like this is a news channel and try to "break something" on the board by posting a thread with just the title and nothing else, then coming in the thread and editing it after it's up just so you can be the first one to post it.

fyi, OP votes do not count.

This is super-specific, but the 2-3 times a year people post about professional wrestling and the same 4-5 comments about how they "stopped watching when they hit puberty" and "hur hur this is super gay" personally drives me crazy.  I get that it isn't for everyone, but for gawds sake there are posts here for every episode of GoT (which I personally don't enjoy but I don't begrudge others for doing it), any time a new trailer for a "geeky" movie, and others.

The easiest thing to do on the internet is to not read something; just move on by.  I skip lots of topics here simply because (a) I don't really have anything to add, and/or (b) I don't really care.

I wish when I clicked on the links to my comments in my profile, the links actually took me to my comments, instead of the page and location where my comments were before they got shoved three pages back by all the intervening comments.

You know.  "All Spartys are terrible people."  "Hoke doesn't know a thing about football."  "Dave Brandon is the physical embodiment of evil who never did a good thing in his life."

Actually, nevermind.  It's not generalizations I dislike, it's unbridled vitriol.

I don't believe all Spartys are "horrible people". That is something that goes beyond fandom and begins to touch at an individual's character.

I do, however, feel that most Spartys are bandwagon fans. For almost my entire life, Spartan fans have been few and far between. Now, after a couple of years of success, they are everywhere. I would go as far as to say that where I live they far outnumber Wolverine fans.

Spartan fans. In my neighborhood, I am sandwiched in between two of them. One is a good guy; the other is insufferable on all levels (this goes way beyond his Spartan fandom). Also, one of the reasons that my pet peeve is Spartan fans is because for almost my entire life (I was born in '86) MSU has been metiocre AT BEST. Following a couple of years of success, all of the Sparties finally come out of the woodwork. Give me a break.

I've watched every UM game for as long as I can remeber--even sat through every game of RR's first season with the same enthusiasm and love for Michigan as I've always had. It took MSU a QUARTER OF A CENTURY to finally win another Rose Bowl, and these Sparties act like they've been supportive, die-hard fans the whole time.

The words "compete" and "competition" in regard to college football. They are so wildly overused that they no longer have meaning to me.

Hey coach, tell us how the team is coming along.

Well, competey compete competition compettively competing compete compete compete.

Great to hear coach, thanks for those stirring words.

I hate that the page down feature for MGoBoard works intermittently. It has been broken for years. Every now and again, it works. But not consistently. Wish that was fixed.

"If already posted mods please delete". Take the 5 seconds to check the first two pages of Board posts, if it's not there and the story is recent then post it. Even if you missed it, there is no reason to type that because the commenter will be sure to tell you and the mods will delete it anyway, it's not like you need to give them permission.

My biggest pet peeve is when the comments quickly become unrelated to the original post. If I click through to the comments it is because I think the original post could spark interesting commentary. Lately I don't even read the comments because they so quickly are unrelated to the original issue. Maybe comments need an OT label too.

I hate it when we get the "buckle up" alert, but no one tells us to unbuckle.  I spent 3 weeks buckled up one time and missed the birth of my third child...

Oh, and portrait studio looking, self posed avatars.

People who give immense weight to the stars of an athlete. Sure the top five stars are a pretty good bet of being amazing, but besides that it shouldn't hold as much weight as a lot of people give the starzzzz credit.

It used to be a great way to deflate some pompous fool who was ranting endlessly about an unimportant topic. But now, it's been so done-to-death that it makes the user sound like an idiot 14-year-old who doesn't have anything intelligent to say, but desperately wants to say something.

the ones that start a thread per day, discuss man is pretty annoying, as someone else said what else would you do on an internet forum?

My BIGGEST pet peeve is people who say things like "do want" and "like this" ans "This ^" , because thats just some bullshit that they picked up from their wives on pintrest.

People that complain about sexybits.  Google Adsense notwithstanding, this is a sports blog populated mostly by men.  There's going to be some T & A.

People that take offense to any and everything.  Spare me your outrage, it was a fucking joke.

Not being able to smoke in bars.

So nobody has told you yet that "boys will be boys" is a bullshit excuse, huh?  Maybe we can have a board that respects and doesn't objectify women especially because some of the women posters on here are some of the most level-headed, rational, and kind among us.
