We could of course consent…

We could of course consent to the fine while preserving the argument that they don't really have the authority to levy it, simply in the name of putting this to bed.  Administrative enforcement fines commonly have no admissions clauses attached to them.

All good stuff, but can we…

All good stuff, but can we please stop with the ACC talk? No thank you to playing UVA, Duke, and the rest of that garbage conference every year.

The problem with this…

The problem with this otherwise ironclad analysis is that if they fired him, they’d have to pay the rest of the contract.

Indy resident since 2009 here.  Some ideas:

DOWNTOWN

Unfortunately, downtown lost some in the past year (Slippery Noodle, Champps, Rock Bottom), but good options remain.  Within 10-15 minutes of the stadium you've got Yardhouse, Kilroy's, Punch Bowl Social, Nada, District Tap.  A Louisville brewery called Goodwood just opened in the old Ram.  Also highly recommend Taxman's Brewpub, located on South and Delaware (so an easy walk to Lucas).  the Plat 99 bar in the Alexander across the street is good for cocktails. There's a strip of bars on South Meridian that I do not frequent these days but for an event like this gets the job done: Tiki Bobs, Brother's, etc.

A little further from the stadium is Metazoa Brewing, which is a solid option if you're looking to hit up a brewery.

MASS AVE

This district is a tad northeast of "downtown" on...Massachusetts Avenue.  There's something for everyone there.  Rathskellar has a great biergarten that will be going in Saturday's 50 degree weather.  Burnside is 3 levels and solid.  The Tap is a decent sports bar.  A little further up Union 50 does great drinks.  And if you find yourself at Goodfella's Pizza, you might stumble upon their speakeasy if you look hard enough.

Fast casual dining: hit up Slapfish.  They just opened a bar next door called Raw Bar too.

North End: the new BOTTLEWORKS district.  Great food hall, a cool gaming bar, all around good stuff (across the street is a great cuban casual place called Yat's)

FOUNTAIN SQUARE / FLETCHER PLACE

The area just southeast of downtown has some great spots:

-Bluebeard: one of the best meals in town

-Hotel Tango: great craft distillery worth your time

-Chilly Water / Hoagies and Hops: Hoagies features authentic philly cheesesteaks (they fly their bread in from New Jersey) and Chilly Water has my favorite Indy beer: Blood on the Tracks Blood Orange IPA.

- Upland: Bloomington based craft brewery known nationally for their sours (good food too)

-Thunderbird: cocktail bar

-La margarita: solid mexican restaurant

Kelly is an ass, no doubt,…

Kelly is an ass, no doubt, but one reason why the situation is what it is is because of the new early signing period in December.  If coaches wait to move until after the entire season plays out, then they could miss out on being able to put together a recruiting class.  Something there has to give.

I was a freshman the Brady /…

I was a freshman the Brady / Henson year and the comparisons miss the mark. Brady was a senior who had already started an entire year before all of that nonsense. Cade has been here longer than JJ, but this is basically his first year playing. He’s still very much in “learning” mode.

Cade has been solid. He hasn’t turned it over. That can’t be discounted.  It’s a fact tho that JJ gives the offense a dimension that Cade doesn’t offer, namely, RPOs and read options. We will need all those wrinkles in play if we have a chance against OSU. He also throws a better deep ball and delivers the ball faster. If we think the team could actually win the B1G and go to the playoff, we have to roll with the most talented players.

Pretty much Michigan's only chance of being remotely interesting is to have an NFL level QB, so lets hope he's right.

It'll be interesting to see who Bakich chooses for this game.  Henry would be on 4 days rest, so MLB regular rest.  Kauffmann is more rested, but I'd throw Henry in Game 1 because TT hasn't seen him recently.  They just played against Kauffmann on Saturday, which could be advantage hitter.

Brian's take on the recent…

Brian's take on the recent podcast that, from a PR perspective, this was handled brutally, is spot on.  If you didn't listen, he basically said that there was a way to do this right, by calling a press conference and explaining exactly what was happening but that that was not done. You can't sneak anyone tied to the USA Gymnastics situation by the goalie, no matter the degree to which that person was involved.  He indicated (I haven't researched independently) that she'd been there a month when she was told and she immediately passed that info on, as one would do.  Call a presser, explain that you did your due diligence, explain that the team (including survivors) was in favor of her coming in, and this goes a lot more smoothly.

If Carter's goal is negative…

If Carter's goal is negative recruiting in favor of OSU, I don't see how saying "CC is a dope and I'm not looking at any other jobs" is no-win.  I know that this has been Jimmy's MO, and I don't care that much, but it seems easy enough to do.  I think not responding to something like this creates more clickbait junk.

I have absolutely no fear that Jimmy is leaving. I do have a hard time understanding why Bacon and Warde have had time to make public comments but Harbaugh has not, tho. I mean, just shoot it down. I don’t see what’s to be gained in not doing so.

Why do people feel the need to make incredibly stupid points like this. Ace is a fixture of this company and he’s facing hardship. Yes there are some board members who are also well-known, but they’ve not worked intimately with the rest of the team for years.
