I, too, had that problem. I am finally using the web site, as my login worked just a little bit ago.

it was deliberate so as to cut down on traffic and stupid threads.
I can log in from a thread and as long as I avoid the front page I'm fine.

Every time I switch to a different post I am "booted out" and need to log in again. Thought it was just me.

I couldn't even sign in for a while and changed my password because I thought I forgot mine due to not having to log back in in seemingly forever.

Same here. I have to log in every time and the front page, for whatever reason, won't accept me on any terms.
I HAVE A GOOD MIND TO TAKE MY VERY IMPORTANT THOUGHTS TO ANOTHER FREE WEBSITE UNLESS THIS IS FIXED IMMEDIATELY.

Brian probably turned off caching for the site. This means the site is no longer "remembering" to keep you logged in when you close the site. This helps with server performance during times where traffic on the site is high.

Caching is an awesome thing, but it has it's performance costs. Having to log-on more often minor annoyance for users, but it can keep those users from getting bad gateway messages.

IIRC from last coaching search, forcing users to log in every time takes pressure off the server in a time when site traffic is sure to be at its highest.

This feels like a means for balancing the load put on the server. Might be something automatic with the hoster. I faintly remember something like this happening a couple of years ago during another epic posting day. Like, when RR was fired. Not sure.

I am guessing that whatever it is, it's the reason the site started loading so much faster.
