Mel Tucker is too ill to participate in today's hearing

Tucker won't participate, his attorneys said, because of a "serious medical condition," the details of which have not been disclosed.

Evidently, Tucker's lawyer also sent roughly 100 pages of new evidence to MSU.

The letter included an eight-page letter from one of Tucker's lawyers, Jennifer Belveal, and 98 pages of what the attorney calls previously undisclosed evidence that paints Tracy has been motivated by money. Belveal also is alleging that Tracy deleted "key" evidence.

"We want to be certain that each of you are privy to come some of the newly discovered evidence, primarily in the form of messages authored by Ms. Tracy herself, but also including witness statements, that she hoped (and obviously anticipated) you would never see," Belveal wrote.

The new evidence appears to not be public at the moment, from what I can tell.

I don't think Tucker was just desperately horny though. He either had some kind of genuine infatuation with Brenda Tracy that he couldn't control or else this was some messed up "raw football man asserts dominance over gender-based violence advocate" thing, or something else out of the DSM-V.

Whatever it was, it seems unlikely that anyone else would have worked for Tucker's purposes, especially if that other person was just doing it for the money. Indeed, hiring a prostitute seems like it would be a pretty big blow to the ego--quite the opposite of the dopamine hit Tucker was looking for.

Wish I could go back and edit the OP.

They blocked out a ton of the messages and context. But they definitely paint a picture of her being interested in his money.

I'm more intrigued by her conversations with ESPN happening simultaneously with her conversations with USA Today. But they blocked out almost everything about that, except for the fact that she talked to ESPN reporters before the USA Today article came out.

Thanks for posting this link.

I scanned through about 30+ pages. From what I saw, Mel's lawyers are doing the standard argue about everything except the actual grounds for firing.

MSU says Mel had a relationship with someone he shouldn't because that person was a vendor for MSU.

Mel's lawyers are trying to prove the relationship was reciprocated and trying to discredit Brenda Tracy to do so.

It doesn't matter who Brenda Tracy is, what type of person she is, what her personal thoughts, beliefs, motives, anything....I'm sure Mel knew he shouldn't try to have a relationship with a school vendor and he did.

The only thing his lawyers are doing at this point is making Mel look even more idiotic to the public and purposely ruining Brenda Tracy's credibility in the process.

Hope you feel better when all this is done Mel. You won't be a penny richer, and any woman you try to date going forward will have a hell of a laugh at her Google search on you prior to cutting off communication.

Ultimately, Tucker's team has one goal...get that man his money.  Everything they are putting out for public consumption is about getting Tucker paid.

Maybe Tucker wants vindication on the sexual harassment issue as well, but Tucker will still be fired for cause whether there officially was sexual harassment or not.
