Mel Tucker Named to Coach of Year Watch List
Didn’t see this posted. Jim Harbaugh is on the Dodd watch list, but I’m afraid he has little chance going up against Mel Tucker. I’m glad the nation recognizes Mel’s true talent through all the noise about being 5-7, having your players assault other teams, and his starting QB running from a dumpster fire. I look forward to the exciting battle between these coaches for the next 9 years and $85.5mm.
Can MSU not release the results of their games? That may be wise. Most people won’t be watching anyway.
Anyone who can manage to get a university to agree to all that money free and clear, thereby taking advantage of their desperation in the face of a quickly unraveling situation that appears to be still unraveling even with them on board, deserves to be on the watch list for something. The Mike Milken "Where Did The Money Go?" Cup perhaps?
Ferentz, Fleck and Third Base also made the list but Frames and Fitz were overlooked.

It is almost as if the inclusion of Mel was simple hand crafted click bait for the comedic relief and readership of this blog.
IF he beats Washington, Michigan, osu, and psu then he'd be heralded as the giant killer.

So, if one is not on the pre-season watch list, is that coach eliminated for COY consideration? If so, that is really stupid. If not, then the "Watch List" is irrelevant. But hey, it's content, I guess...

Respectfully, some people are commenting about Mel being on a hot seat. I honestly don’t understand how this comment can be made.
He has a $95M contract.. guaranteed. What could possibly be considered “hot” about his seat? He’s guaranteed an immense payout - win or lose. If he gets “released” from his coaching responsibilities - he can buy an island in the Caribbean and just live “happily ever after”. He’s more than set for life.
Exactly. MSU is several years away from being able to realistically afford firing Tucker, at best. If they fire him, they have to pay him AND the new guy they bring in. Ishbia isn't covering anywhere near what State Media would like you to believe, and that's AD isn't made of money.
They're stuck with him for a good while here.
