People always talk about RR's UM teams improving...vs. Hoke teams. RR's started from a historically bad season..there was no where to go but up. Hoke started with an 11 win season...and he was a bad coach so of course he went backwards. Which is better...hell who cares? You could put them together and still not have a decent coach.

Had to watch the game in a sports bar and drink beer to not look like a schmuck so my attention was a little intoxicated. I didn't order overpriced package with BTN. However, just about every time I remembered to watch for Gary, he was double teamed. I wouldn't run at Chase in a one on one and I'd definetely run at Gary who is being double teamed. I'm still buzzed though.

Why is everyone always so damn negative on here? Speight is not that bad of a QB and people act like he is garbage. We are a young team and Speight fixed some things this game that had hurt us previously. We need tough wins because adversity builds character. They are playing hard but mistakes are killing us and the refs are straight ass raping us this year! Harbaugh is building something and a culture and if u relax and take a closer look it's slowly starting to come together.

He had some pretty bad misses today, but also there were some bad drops too. I think Speight has "I can't throw any more INTs anxiety," and doesn't fully trust his young receivers.

While no one likes a game where AF is still in it in the 4th, this team is "getting old" in a hurry. By mid-season, for better or worse, this will be a team of old veterans...

Good point Faux, this team is being galvanized with these games. At times I feel like this is Hoke era but then you remember how young these cats are and that this coaching staff isn't anywhere close to that Hoke staff. This team will be mean down the road. No doubt. That Higdon run and DPJ punt return brought me back to reality. That shit never happened with Hoke teams unless Denard got loose.

I totally agree. I think this is part of the red zone issue--without deep space everything is compressed, and every throw is into traffic. Speight has made these throws before, but in the games Michigan early the only way Michigan is threatened with a loss is with a bad INT. So he goes cautious. Throwing it away. Throwing a lot of those fades that aren't terribly accurate but are designed in such a way that if his receiver doesn't get it, nobody has a chance at all.

Combine that with receivers that aren't yet as crisp as last year's experienced crew, and their inexperience in getting open when Speight is scrambling, and you have some tough windows.

You're dead on, IMO.

It tells us plenty about every aspect.

Offense: red zone playcalling needs work, and a lot of it. Oline still a work in progress. Speight still being refined, still learning, still gives us the best chance to win.

Special teams: kicking game looks to be in great shape. Punting is starting to become a concern. Return game has the potential to go the distance or fumble. #Freshmen

Defense: the defense adapted to an exotic offense and played great. There was a time around these parts when a mobile QB spelled DOOM. Names like McNabb, Dixon, Edwards, Williams, Randle El, the list goes on, still make some of nauseous. Don Brown will not be out schemed. Period. ! Exclamation point !! 2 exclamation points

This team is exactly what we thought it is, they will compete for the Big Ten championship. Much like last year they will be a few breaks away from either winning the conference and going to CFP or being a 2-3 loss team that played hard and left it all on the field

Calm the fuck down people

Jesus Fricking Christ.

Let's establish a baseline here. If Zarniwoop faced for thirty seconds what Speight faces every day in practice and on Saturdays, Zarniwoop would defecate in his fucking diaper like a baby in terror and cry for a week afterward.

Is Speight the reincarnation of Tom Brady? No. But neither were John Navarre or Brian Griese until their senior year.

Fuck off with your dumb-ass armchair diagnoses.
