Per ESPN, Kiffin and Ole Miss are closing in on a deal.  This combination is sure to lead to one of the cleanest programs in the country.....

My Ole Miss buddy was texting frantically last night while this was developing.  I said it would be "Tennessee Part 2".

This morning he sent me a tweet showing how excited Lane's son was that his dad got a head coaching job in the Esss Eeee Ceee.  The boy shouted, jumped into their SUV, and said "let's go!"

His son's name?  Wait for it... "Knox".

Great hire.  Perfect for Ole Miss.  I think he's a great offensive coach, and his personality makes Ole Miss interesting.

Downside is that I was having fun suggesting his name to my MSU friends as a replacement for Dantonio.  A couple of them were actually pretty open to it.

Michigan fans are the last to hold on to this "clean/dirty" paradigm. Nobody else cares, nor should they. It's so frustrating to see how talk of cleanliness has dominated this board the last week. It's a total time warp.

This will be interesting. Freeze was a big subscriber to the whole “hide your mercenary approach behind Bible thumper platitudes” thing which is basically essential in the Deep South. Kiffin seems like the kind of guy who just doesn’t really care about anything other than winning football games, itd be hard to see him do the whole community aspect in a place as deeply conservative as MS.

True. But then he'll get millions in a buyout. Probably reels in a few great recruits now that the boosters are willing to throw more cash around in hopes that Kiffen can actually compete with UGA, LSU, etc. Has one good season in the first few years of his contract, gets an extension, then fails miserably, then fired.
