This will be the thread for snowflakes regarding the defensive performance in the Big Ten Championship Game.

I'm convinced Gus and Joe had some executive from Fox in their ear all game demanding that they keep telling the audience "Iowa is still in this!" in an attempt to keep viewership up.

Very similar to the hilarious picks on Gameday with 3 out of 5 people, 2 of which are PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO TALK AT A REASONABLY KNOWLEDGABLE LEVEL ABOUT COLLEGE FOOTBALL, picking Iowa, a 22ish point underdog (biggest dog of the P5 Championship games), the representative of the West that has literally never won this game, to somehow win this game.

An extraordinarily dominant performance all game. Iowa never got anything going tonight. Set up Michigan’s only 2nd-half touchdown.

Not a surprise, but awesome.

The difference with this defense compared to previous excellent units is how superb they are at producing turnovers. Been a challenge for years across multiple coordinators… and this year they’re getting huge TOs on the regular.

Here’s to many more.

Great to get the shutout. Michigan out defensed IA. This defense wins championships (plural).

They won without Will Johnson so Will should be 100% for the semifinal game.

Sainristil is THE MAN!

Can't beat 13-0 and for the second consecutive time.

This D has to be the catalyst in the CFP, because the offense needs help.  I am hoping we can get both phases working well and finally get a sorely needed post-season win.

The Drive for 325 is dead anyway, but I just want to point out that Ferentz the Baby got an extra game to hit it, and made zero additional progress.  Iowa now has 216 points in 13 games, or an average of 16.6 / game.  They’d need 109 points in their bowl game to hit 325.

They were outstanding against a truly pathetic offense.  They needed to create turnovers and they did that.

I've loved watching these guys all year, competition ramps up big time in the playoffs for them.

Defense played well. Even though Iowa offense is one of the worse in the league but still nice to see total domination. Now JH needs to work on the offense if we are going to have a chance for a NC.

This defense exemplifies Mike Sainristil -- they give up zero. Playmakers all over the field.

When I have watched this defense this season, it's the only one since 1997 where I assume they're just going to shut down every team. In other words, when I watched the 1997 season, I would think to myself, "damn, a first down" when our opponent would dare do something against our D. This defense is that good -- it's probably better because of its ability to generate turnovers.

2016 was probably the closest to this defense, but I don't recall them generating the turnovers. 2006 and 2018 were great, up until OSU.

That said, the defense will have to be even better in the playoffs. With Minter at the helm, I think it can be.

Mike Sainristihl & Mike Barrett equal un unexplained phenomena in the multiverse. They were crystallized precipitation. This is the snowflake thread right? Discuss man…. Where in the fuck is WD? We looked good tonight, in our all-whites!
