I thought about that, but with Iowa being a primarily run heavy team, it may not open the door for many opportunities for sacks for Hutchinson.

Now, if Michigan jumps out to an early lead and puts Iowa in a hole to where they have to start passing more frequently, then sure. But otherwise, Hutchinson may not have an impact on the game that he did on Saturday. At least not as big an impact on the stat sheets.

Spencer Petras against Top 30 Defenses:

@Iowa State 11/21 106 yards 1 TD 0 INT 4 Sacks

Penn State 17/31 195 yards 2 TDs 1 INT 3 Sacks

Purdue 17/32 195 yards 0 TDs 4 INTs 4 Sacks

@Wisconsin 9/19 93 yards 0 TDs 0 INTs 6 Sacks

@Nebraska 7/13 102 yards 0 TDs 0 INTs 2 Sacks

Going off these stats I find it hard he'll be doing a lot of attacking.

Reporter: Do you think you have a chance this weekend?

Petras: yes.

Reporter: so youre saying youre going to win?

Petras: hope so

Reporter: but michigan is unstoppable.

Petras: No, not really. there are ways to beat them.

Reporter: One way - but impossibly.

Petras: No, there are a lot of ways to beat them.

Reporter: But where did you see it?

Petras: On tape.

AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ha!

i get what youre saying, but we've seen this nonsense before. We havent seen it THIS year, but... bizarro shit happens at times. Rocky Lombardo and friends would like a word. not the same team, just saying we're not above someone catching fire. hit him early and hit him hard, get a lead, and force them to play from behind.

I agree with what you're saying.  I'm not taking Iowa for granted at all.  It's Iowa and that alone makes me nervous.  I hope the Defense comes out and punishes Iowa's QB all game long.  I hope they can get some sacks and turnovers.  I've just been saying for the last several weeks that Petras is the worst starting Iowa QB I have ever seen. Just because we are playing them doesn't change the fact that he will be the 2nd worst QB Michigan has faced this season (worst being NW).

A lot of ways to attack a defense? I mean, that's true of anyone. Not really what I would consider bulletin board material. He pretty much stated a fact.  The question is whether or not you can execute those attacks better than Michigan can defend against them.

I am sure we are going to see a lot of screen passes on long yardage downs. Please don't do the Don Brown special of blitzing past screens and draws to lose games that are in hand (Iowa and FSU 2016).

Usually you can have a let down after a big emotional win. Luckily this is not a normal following week. It’s for the big ten championship and a playoff birth. I have no doubt our guys will come ready to play just like they did last week.

I mean....he's right?  Iowa has 22 INTs this season.  They bait QBs into throws - it's what they do on D.  Get good field position and punch it in.  I wouldn't be surprised in Cade throws 2 INTs this week.

Michigan just does not force turnovers.  It's the biggest knock against this defense and could come back to bite them eventually.

Good point. Moten with huge dropped INT in East Lansing that was significant to the outcome of the game, and another against OSU that thankfully was not.

Hawkins was originally a WR commit who’s started dozens of games now and has 0 career picks.

Watch them get 4 now on Saturday night!

"Every team is beatable."

Grrrrrrr!

Remember when Cade said he was confident going up against Ohio? This is right on par with that!

And will make our victory so much sweeter!

Petras looks like one of those rich kids whose parents send him to top dollar trainers a couple times a week and to camps all summer in order to get their kid good enough to play.

There’s also a lot of ways to argue with a woman.

But as says the plaque my wife bought me and placed on my desk, none of them work.

There's no real surprises in this article, though I do get tired of people saying Iowa's rush offense suddenly figured stuff out.  They played Illinois, NW, and the husk of Nebraska to end the year.  Nebraska's defense is decent but none of those units are great against the run.

Iowa will have some tricks and can move the ball but Iowa is going to win this game on the back of an opportunistic defense and not stringing together lon drives.

"...Iowa is going to win this game on the back of an opportunistic defense and not stringing together long drives."

Or on the strength of a completely disinterested and full-of-itself Michigan team following the biggest win its had in decades.

Fortunately, I just can't see McNamara, Hutch, and Haskins allowing an inflated ego to get in the way of a B1G Championship.  If nothing else, Hutch's dad would never let him hear the end of it...
