Interesting Interaction between Isaiah Todd and Josh Christopher on Isaiah Todd's Most Recent Instagram Post

Not sure how to embed images on posts, so I'll explain the best I can. Isaiah Todd just posted a picture on Instagram with a half McDonalds M, half block M in the background after receiving an invite to the McDonalds All American game (which seems to be a good sign about him coming to AA). Josh Christopher commented on the picture saying "Congrats brother see you there," which could be referencing either the McDonalds game or Michigan. Christopher then commented "See I got one too, but the way my recruitment is set up ?." Todd then responded to him saying "just come one already" (which presumably is a typo and meant "come on"). Not entirely sure what that Christopher comment was saying, but it appears that he may have also received a similar graphic and Todd is trying to get him to commit?

Not entirely sure, but I thought it was a noteworthy interaction

Haven't you been keeping up with the blog? Apparently we'd rather have John Beilein marching us along to a .500 conference record with a lineup of overachieving MAC level recruits. Kentucky has only been to four Final Fours in 10 years, despite having all those blue chips -- and that shows how coaching is more important than recruiting. Duke couldn't even win with Zion. Therefore (Spike Albrecht + Coach B) > (Zion + Coach K). Juwan needs to focus more on unlocking the beast within Austin Davis and less time chasing these 5* pipe dreams.

These are all arguments I had with other posters after the loss to Penn State. I'm sick of people going at Juwan's "coaching ability" when he's working with mostly MAC talent. After next year he'll have brought the two best recruiting classes to ever come to Michigan. Recruiting is king in college basketball. Who cares what Beilein would've squeezed 3 more wins out of this mediocre roster. Juwan is getting it done where it matters.

The team has 'MAC talent' because all of the 'NBA talent' Beilein had last year left on him. This team looks a lot different with Iggy and Poole still around. Not entirely Beilein's fault that he recruited and developed too well, but I guess the narrative now is going to be that Beilein was underachiever now or something

A team with DDJ Christopher Livers Todd Dickenson with Franz, Zeb/Brooks and Johns coming off the bench makes me giddy

So giddy I double post

What I find interesting about this is that I always assumed the graphics department is making these images for the UM social media properties, but smart of them to make them for the commits to share.  Give them a bunch of cool content.  And that kind of explains some of the comments from insiders and that video guy.  Sounds like M has some graphic designers doing basic stuff but these other schools are making a lot more videos, presumably for snapchat, IG, tiktok, etc.

It's ridiculous that this stuff moves the needle these days (shakesfistatcloud) but since it does, seems like a content arms race.

Yeah, I'm sure our photoshop and snapchat skills are why we can't keep up with OSU and Bama in football.

Bags of $, online classes, a greater focus on football and less on academics, women, cars, etc won't do the trick....it's the spiffy gif you get to post on instagram when you commit that tips the scales. LOL

Howard is crushing it in recruiting because he's open to channels that Beilein wasn't.  Is he bagging, I don't know...but he's definitely willing to talk to AAU coaches that Beilein avoided like the plague.  Not to mention he has that new coach smell, Fab 5 and NBA history, and is really likeable, especially given the story he can share about his background and the man he became. The recent basketball scandals and FBI investigations have also scared off some of the baggers in basketball, leaving a temporary opening for a more level recruiting field...which will evaporate in a year or 2 after nothing happens.

But, hell, maybe we need to hire a couple more illustrator designers and we'll start getting more 5* football players.

Also noticed that when Christopher posted his Michigan jersey picture during his visit, Shareef O'Neal commented ...

"My guys Big L and J Howard a deadly combo"

Now that O'Neal is transferring, that's even more interesting.

Based on talent level of course Shareef would be a good addition too, but this numbers game just doesn’t seem possible. Aside from firm handshaking Davis, that would still require running out Nunez, Castleton, and/or maybe even Brooks or Johns, this isn’t possible. Granted if Jace wasn’t coach’s son and had a higher ranked brother we want, most would be underwhelmed with him being a scholarship recruit, but that’s how it works. With Christopher trending our way and hopefully Todd stays too that leaves us with this for next year:

DDJ

Zeb

Brooks

Nunez

Bajema

Christopher

Williams

Jace

Wagner

Livers

Johns

Todd

Castleton

Dickenson

Davis

That is 15 players on a 13 scholarship limit. Granted, Davis isn’t guaranteed another year but at this rate I’d take him over Castleton as a backup 5. Even if Davis is given a form handshake, one more has to go to even get Christopher.

I expect Jace to walk-on. The recruiting doesn't make sense otherwise, unless Juwan knows mass attrition is on the way. Why else would he still be chasing Christopher and Brown? Those definitely aren't guys you recruit as fallback options in case Todd goes overseas. There's going to be room somehow, and if a few recruits fall through and a scholarship is there, then Jace will get it. I don't see a situation where Juwan doesn't take Christopher and/or Brown bc the scholarship needed is taken by his own son. And he can always award him one down the line when the numbers work.

I thought it was pretty interesting, only for the fact that he doesn’t seem to do this under other players post. He always makes it a point to do this with Todd. May be nothing but it definitely caught my eye scrolling down the timeline.

I know people get all in a huff over social media analysis like this, but I actually think this is relatively interesting.  Seems like there is definitely some behind-the-scenes talks between Todd & Christopher.

The year is 2031. The University of McDonalds has won 10 straight NCAA Championships and it all started because Isaiah Todd flipped from Michigan to McDonalds and Josh Christopher joined him

On a serious note this is the most promising thing Ive seen about Todd planning on keeping his commitment.

Hopefully when Todd and Christopher watch this current team they don't see a team struggling, they see a team that needs their scoring.

Warde Manuel: “Just pay your kid’s 100k tuition and I’ll make it up to you when we do your contract.”

Juwan Howard: “OK.”

Problem solved.

Good day. Instagram is very popular platform nowadays, there are millions of people who spend time there every day. I'm thinking about starting my own page, it will be about sport. In my opinion this Instagram content will be always in demand and will gather a lot of likes and comments. In future I will earn on advertising!
