Per Inside source: Alabama is scared to play Army.

Saban has stated numerous times that legit out of conference teams are won't/are scared to play them... Army is an Independent. All the coaches agree their style is legit. ✔

If they had a home-home with them, Bama would have to play them way away from home in New York...Something they rarely do. Then, who pays who, and how much. ?

They're unconventional and therefore hard to prepare for...thus taking away the SEC's easy extra bye week and lack of another conference game. Double ✔✔

And It's not limited to Bama either...Clemson, Georgia, and any other Top or SEC team can get in on the action.

It's just records show Bama hasn't played them since 1988... A 29-28 win by BAMA.

There's other benefits to it also. Like making them earn that playoff spot. (Just didn't wanna get all tl:dr-ish)

It'll be kind of like a college football pace car.

Can our Vocal Minority Cannon/media people, with free time looking for something to write/tweet/post, start this campaign during the bye week? Has to be more productive than negatively rehashing a guilty win.

Bold strategy, I know...Leaders and Best! Go Blue!

I mean... yeah. There's a reason no one wants to play service academies and especially Army. They run basically an exclusive offense, run the ball extremely well, they don't make mistakes, they milk the clock and give you very limited possessions, and if they get 3+ YPC you're fucked. They're a scary team that we handled well. Our offense was just shaky

I don’t remember this place ever being like this. So many people posting threads because they thought of something in their heads. Get a damn Twitter for that kind of stuff.

Not sure how interesting this comment is but considering the quality of the OP I figure I would mention it again: Oklahoma is scheduled to play Army AT Army next season...whoops.

Agree.  Also doubt they'd sacrifice the practice time we did if they had Army on the schedule.

I keep going back to the Alabama Michigan game several years back.  It was obvious we weren't at their level.  And our contemporaries who have recently been in the bcs / playoff games (ND x 2, sparty, osu last time) sort of further reinforce that divide.

No ideas on how to narrow that divide, fwiw.

Cheers.

"What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”
