I Hope Juwan Stays Forever

I love Beilein but Juwan is taking this program to the next level.

I would kind of expect his son Jett to come to UM and he is a top 60 junior in HS. If Jett comes to UM and Juwan coaches him for 3 years that would be at least another 4 years on the job.

total agreement.  you could say i am a tiny (micro) version of this and probably like a lot of folks on this list.  could make more $ but would rather work less and be around to watch the kids' games, coach them in the sports that i can.  time with them is far more valuable than some extra money.  don't get me wrong, glad about money, but the time is not a commodity that you can replace.

I always wonder about testing the skill at the higest level.  Its not level playing field.  I guess if you could pick your job, ala Meyer.

But its not the NFL where you rework your roster in 3 years.

Either you have Lebron / Davis/ Curry /Durant or you don't. And you don't get those guys unless you're the Lakers

Naw man, NBA rosters can change in a second. Harden and Irving and how many other elite players just showed up on Brooklyn’s roster this year? If you don’t think Juwan is a coach that can attract stars that will travel to him you are out of your mind.  Any team he goes to will have top level players banging the door down to play for him.

Those guys didn't come for Steve Nash. They came for Durant/ NYC

Davis didn't come to LA for Frank Vogel.  He came for Lebron .. who came because LA

Westbrook, Paul and Harden just got Danoni fired in the end.. Hell of a run.  but jobless and titleless in 4 years

Rosters only change for the better for LA/NYC teams .. And the Celtics

I mean, I don't think one could have asked for a better start to a career, especially following a coach like John Beilein. I was excited by the hire, but honestly thought being top 12-18 was going to be best case scenario in the first couple of years. He's definitely exceeded that so far

Don't know what the future holds, but the nice thing about sports is this question will be answered on the court.

The trend line is definitely going the right direction though

I’m guessing he stays long enough for his kids to cycle out of the program and then at that point we’re living on borrowed time.

I won’t be surprised if he leaves for the NBA. And the way he’s coaching he’s going to have plenty of suitors coming to knock at his door. I hope the minute the season is over Warde immediately gets to work on a long term deal.

Maybe his master plan is to put a bunch of studs into the league that he can convince to come join him on the team of his choosing. He can then coast to a few titles with a bunch of stars that respect and listen to him despite their status. Should take about 15 years or so of dominance to achieve...

Beilein was a damn good coach, a HOF coach, but Juwan appears to be doing what Beilein thought was impossible. He didn’t think you could recruit elite talent without breaking the rules and compete with the blue bloods on an annual basis. Now one bad game early in the tournament could slow down the programs success, but Juwan appears to be building a monster that puts Michigan at the top of the mountain with Kansas, UK, Duke, and Kentucky...a team that’s a threat to win it all every single year. That’s as good as it gets in college basketball.

I hope he stays as long as he wants to.  I don't know him so I don't know what he wants to do with his future.  I also don't know many grown men who cry when offered a job in the NBA so I think he really wants to be here.

Juwan won't leave until he wins not one but two or more NCAA titles. If that happens, he'll be the highest paid HC in the NCAA to stay at Michigan. Am not concerned about Juwan leaving at this time.

Chris Webber went on Rich Eisen’s show when Juwan was publicly in contention for the job, and said-ish, “I know he’ll never leave.  That’s how much he loves UM.”  He was obviously excited but I won’t be surprised if it comes true.  Go Blue!
