How often are you watching UM "football porn" ?

Submitted by Bo Harbaugh on February 6th, 2024 at 2:41 PM

I have an addiction, and I'm coming clean.  I can't stop watching UM football videos, commentary and recaps from the past 3 years.  Every evening I spend at least 30 minutes rewatching old games and recapturing and reliving the glory of what UM football accomplished.  After the prior past 20 years of straight pain or "almost" heartbreaks, I'm in the "can die happy now" camp, but I indeed have an addiction and the first step is to acknowledge it - so they say.

Some games I can't stop watching...

OSU @ UM 2021 - Cathartic, magical scene

UM B1G Championship 2021- Smashing Iowa for our first Trophy in a long time

UM @ OSU 2022 - Owned OSU in the toilet bowl after all their chirping, Day is soft confirmed

OSU @ UM 2023 - No more excuses OSU, Temp coach, no Stalions, keep crying

UM @ PSU 2023 - Sherrone runs it down their throat, Temp coach on short notice smashes frames

The Rose Bowl 2023 - Obvious one.  Played poorly and made many mistakes and still slayed the SEC - Bama giant.  The scenery was epic and finish was glorious.

2023 National Championship Game - A bit anti-climactic after beating Bama, but was the clincher and put a cherry on top of the Harbaugh era.  Perfection, 15-0, National champs! All the glory.

Anyone else obsessively watching games and highlights?  Shall I seek help?

All right, that does it. After reading some of these comments, I'm skipping my daughter's varsity basketball game tonight and rewatching the Rose Bowl.

You bastards did it to me again.

Well, I am a masochist, so my definition of "Michigan Football Porn" is:

  • 2008 Toledo
  • 2007 App. State
  • 2009 Illinois
  • 2014 Minnesota
  • 2015 MSU

Spank me harder, daddy!

Man.  You got more staying power than me.  One shot of Corum's run in the OSU game or his run to the end zone in OT in the national championship and I'm shot.

Thanks to the efforts of Brian and Seth here, I have a new appreciation of how well the team played, and it is fun to go back and rewatch games - and if you can get them the long views videos where all 22 players are visible and see how the plays develop.

Have yet to tire of watching any of highlights of this year.

I’m wondering 🤔, for the people that use “natty” for National Championship, is it OK to call the Big 10 Championship the “biggie”? Because in addition to winning the natty, Michigan has won 3 biggies in a row. And for all the talk of the recent natty, I think it’s also great that we went biggie-biggie-biggie.

Biggie, Biggie, Biggie, can't you see?
Sometimes your words just hypnotize me
And I just love your Natty ways
Guess that's why they broke, and you're so paid

I've rewatched the WolverineDevotee Rose Bowl cut so many times since that game ended. Hollywood couldn't have written a better script for how that game played out if they tried.

And there's just something about how the California sun hit the maize pants that's just beautiful to look at.

I watch michigan football clips every day...

favorites are the Alabama game and the last three OSU games.

best moment? overtime in the rose bowl.

most emotional?  when zinter gets hurt and the next play Corum runs into the endzone and puts up 6-5.

While other people are worrying about the future, I'm relishing in the recent past.
