The computer stuff is encouraging.

Yes, Milroe is very scrambly, and sometimes makes a great throw.  Like Tua.  But also like Tua, he makes some bad decisions and bad throws.  He takes a longer time to throw than Tua.  I don't think he is a master of diagnosing and picking apart coverages.

If Alabama plays like it did in the Auburn game, I think Michigan wins comfortably.

If Alabama plays like it did in the Georgia game, I think Michigan still wins because:

On offense, Georgia needed 28 points to win, but got only 24.  Alabama's defense isn't as good as OSU, Iowa, or Penn State.  I think Michigan will score more points than Georgia did.  Especially if offense tunes up its execution and play calling a bit, and is quicker to move from plays that aren't working.  (I.e., Basically if they are able to diagnose and to fix what caused the TCU game.)

On defense, Georgia was often using 2 spies.  It let Milroe have a long time to throw (or figure out where to scramble).  It was almost as bad as Auburn choosing to rush 2.  I have high confidence that Minter and Michigan's defense will be more effective than that.

Experience does matter at this time of year, and Michigan has that in spades.  And it's the best kind of experience -- leaders who came back to win when they could have gone pro.  That, plus the incredible team spirit makes this Michigan team special.  Put that in your computer and smoke it!

I actually worry we may lose this game. Alabama has a lot of speed athletes. I sure wish we had a better passing game. It just seems either JJ and his WR do not have timing patterns and JJ searches around for the open WR and he usually dumps off the TE or RB.

Having coach Moore work with the OL for 3 weeks gives me confidence that some fine tuning will go a long way to shoring up pass pro.  Also Michigan has faced a Milroe light with Marylands QB. Milroe is a more dangerous runner but we are not without exposure.

We could do well to remember that our D practices against JJ.  I look forward to reviewing film on both of them in the coming weeks for further comparison.

lastly, I was encouraged by the reason stated for. Putting the wolverines as 1 seed. The “player leadership” that was demonstrated on their coach absence during the last three games got their attention and ours as well.  GO BLUE!

Per Bill Connelly:

I was curious what a mashup of Resume SP+ and Strength of Record would have to say about the top 7. Not quite what I expected:

1. Michigan (13-0)
2. Florida State (13-0)
3. Washington (13-0)
4. Ohio State (11-1)
5. Alabama (12-1)
6. Georgia (12-1)
7. Texas (12-1)
