Harbaugh contract update murmurings from @MichiganNation2

Submitted by Communist Football on November 30th, 2023 at 5:19 PM

Twitter's @MichiganNation2 has been one of the people working with StalBombs on putting out pro-Michigan Signgate information (or rumors, depending on your point of view). He tweets today that he believes the "terms [of the Harbaugh agreement] have pretty much been knocked out," and include listing Sherrone Moore as the HC-in-waiting; an increase in the assistant salary pool; and more NIL commitment.

More Michigan News:
Gonna give it to you straight no matter what regarding the Harbaugh contract talks.
-Originally was slated to be signed the week of Ohio State. At least that was the push. The suspension put that on hold.
- Now it's being said it could be done before…

It's unlikely that Moore would be named as head coach in waiting on Harbaugh's next contract.  It would be included in Moore's next contract.  I hope Harbaugh signs his extension soon, but it should probably be done after Saturday's game.

I love it if true. I’ve been saying they need to give Sherrone 3 mil a year and CIW title. That will help with recruiting for a seamless transition if and when JH leaves for NFL or retires.

Get a reprieve from admissions so that transfer credits can be taken.  I would not sign anything until Ono gets that done.

Make up an entirely new academic department if he has to.

In an interview with On3, Boise State WR commit Gatlin Blair said he talked with Harbaugh after the OSU game, and Harbaugh told him he cannot predict the future, but he really wants to stay at Michigan.  I don't see Harbaugh as the type of coach to say this to a recruit without meaning it, so I am on the side of believing Harbaugh will be here unless/until Michigan terminates him.

Quick reminder that Harbaugh's current deal expires after the 2026 season.

also, if you want some AWESOME reading, look up on TwiXter the term "Harbaugh 2026" to see all of the jubilant Buckeyes celebrating that Jim was locked up at Michigan

I don’t know if he’s right or wrong but I think you all underestimate the amount of people that go in and out of the facilities. People talk about everything, people here.

the problem isn’t whether these are real insiders or not the problem is it turns into a game of telephone and claims get exaggerated or just totally contorted.

I just cannot possibly explain how people roll in and out of these facilities with relative ease.

I’ve brought two <24 year olds in and out of UM, Osu, Purdue and a couple other these year where they heard all kinds of stuff related to medical items. Of course if they shared any of it we’d fire them immediately, but the point is any could have gone on a message board and posted things under a fake name it would have been absolutely true.

again, this dude could be full of it but all this stuff isn’t that secretive. The key is hearing it from a 1st line / direct source and down the line 5-6 people.

Any contract with Harbaugh means he'll (almost certainly) retire at Michigan. LEGENDARY! He's become the modern day Bo and I'm really happy for Harbaugh if this comes to fruition. It was his goad, and he resurected the program he loves. LEGENDARY

Moore as coach in waiting??? This is almost too good to be true. Maybe Harbaugh coaches for 5-10 more years? Hard to guess. But this means our OL and Offense will be top level, which means Michigan's floor will be very good. Michigan's ceiling will be Natty. And then the transition to the next coach will be a celebration and smooth process.

Almost too good to be true. But it's SMART so I believe it could be so.

I would hate for Sherrone to be the coach in waiting. I rather have Harbaugh for years and when the time comes, we try to get the best candidate available at the time.
